Absolutely! It's the same for us - filming these projects always adds extra time, which few people in our space ever mentions, and of course, nothing tops the priority list like our little ones do.
You kids are doing great as 1st time parents. Sometimes when you know Everly has been fed, burped and changed but she's still fussing when you put her down you should try letting her learn how to self sooth which means she might cry for a little while before she falls back to sleep. Playing music or those noise machines also help. Glad Frank gets up to help Alex & do what he can. Everly's a lucky little girl to have such awesome parents! ❤️
You two are doing great! I love your teamwork. I can’t imagine trying to work on the rig with such little sleep. Everly is her own little full time job🥰
Everly is a living doll…my grandson liked the cold too, I put him in the stroller and he would sleep for hours. ( grandma walked alot. Ha) I got exercise, he got fresh air. Win win
Grand Dude tip: My girl puked after every feeding for over a year. I had to bring her to specialists to find out the problem. If you lay Everly on a slight incline, her food will stay in her stomach. The vomiting will stop quickly. Sometimes the stomach muscle does not close properly and liquid will backflow and the body kicks the fluid out so you will not drown. I wish I had known that early on.
Wonderful video showing the realities of taking care of newborns. You guys are doing a fabulous job …like really good job! For the evening crying that my daughter had I found that putting her bouncer seat or you could use the car carrier on top of the dryer and turning it on with the lights out. seemed to work best for her when she had that stomach stuff. I think it helped because she was sitting up and could digest better. Of course 30 years ago, we were not fearful to have infants in bed with us and I do think we all slept better. However, once you start the family bed you’re in it till they’re almost 5! Because they rely on you for feeling safe. After three we had them sleep on cots in the same room with us so it was easier for us to sleep. I think you’re using your stroller which helps keep the head raised, which probably helps with the reflux that they all seem to have. Anyway, I’m a real proponent of breast-feeding and breast-feeding works best when the mother just stays with the baby. When the baby is needing more milk, you will find that you are going to be tired in the afternoon. and will need to lay down as well and so go with it! It will help your milk supply. I don’t really believe the parents will suffocate their babies as I was always very aware as the mother just like you wake up when there are tiny little noises. I think the baby should sleep nearest the mother on her front side. The goal is to be sure everybody gets some sleep during the night, so make your own decisions that work for you.
I bought my daughter in law a graco sense to sooth cradle that thing is Amazing!! When the baby cries it glides back and forth with more settings to play music if you want plus a timer that will cut off when you set it
You guys are doing a great job! We swore by the 5 S's: swaddling, shushing near her ear and using the sleep sheep white noise machine (life saver), swaying, sucking (our daughter used the pacifier for four months and then one day just didn't need/want it anymore), and holding her on her side. The 5 S's and the schedule like you are doing saved us. I highly recommend the sleep sheep. Also when you shush, do it right against her ear. It mimics her hearing your heartbeat in the womb. You guys are doing awesome! Enjoy every moment. The days are long, but the years are short. And don't be afraid of the pacifier. Just because she uses it as an infant doesn't mean she will use it for a long time. As I said, our daughter only used it for four months and she told us when she didn't need it anymore by constantly spitting it out.
Those 5 s's are amazing!! We've definitely been using a pacifier for calming and non-productive suckling. She loves it and it gives my nipples are break 😂😂 thank you for all the tips!!! Hope your kiddos are doing great 😁
Thanks so much Mary!!! The Grey hat was purchased at The One of a Kind Show in Toronto about a million years ago and I added my grandmas broach sooooo that's gonna be hard for me to find for you lol 😆 hope you can find something you love just as much!!! Xo
I nursed my boys lying in bed so could cat nap a bit. My breasts were sore so didn’t let them on too long, then burp and back to the crib. Every day gets easier. You should sleep during the day when baby sleeps if you can. You are lucky to have a husband who helps. Your baby is a doll!
This is part of what I mean when you think you are ready to be a parent and you are uninformed. LOL The upside is you are not prepared for the risk of love that overwhelms your heart and soul when you hold her the first time. Reality kicks in really quick.
Hahah this is probably true 😅 ignorance is bliss and every parent has to learn that for themselves!! Lol the overwhelming love is pretty great though 🥰
She’s just devine friends. You’re doing awesome. These newborn days are so challenging. We did a super swaddle, which is a technique using two blankets that keeps the arms from breaking out if you want to look it up on RUclips. It really helped my one that loved to be swaddled. Just keep swimming! She will sleep more soon. Love seeing your happy family.
I’ll try to find one although it’s never going to look as adorable as it looks on you! Love you guys and your beautiful family! Many blessings from FL and NC. We live in Fl but spend summers van lifting and in our cabin in the mountains that we just purchased as a retirement present. It’s a cute tiny cabin.
You guys are doing awesome! Everly looks so so healthy! Believe me I know the negative dialogue sleeping with the baby but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Although I have to say I thought the app was pretty funny.. I know I’m old. 🤷🏻♀️ Love to you all! ❤️
Hi yall, just finally wanna congratulate yall she's a beautiful baby 🤱, sorry haven't been here much, been so busy working due to employee shortage, lots of overtime, both a blessing and at times can be a curse the same time with all these crazy not so steady hours at work, I'm just glad I made it to watch yalls contents, missing yall a bunch. Sending lots and lots of love hugs and prayers daily to now the 3 of yall.🤗❤️🤗❤️🤗❤️
Thank you so much Barbara! We hope you're doing well and taking time for yourself even when work is crazy. You need some time for you by the sound of it!!!
Okay y’all are doing the damn thing! ❤ I love the teamwork and the understanding of each others needs 😇 also Welcome to the CKC - cute kid club!! 🎉 Also y’all are already amazing parents ❤️
Everly is so precious and beautiful and you are an attentive and loving parent team. It was great to see supervisor paco during the day and how you are all bundled on bed at night (can relate). Outdoor fresh air is so great for the babe. Grab that sleep whenever you can...it will get better down the road ❤.
Thank you so much! 💓 Paco is full supervisor all the time, at work, on the couch, in the bed, he's always watching and protecting against threats like the mailman 😂 sleep is defintiely something we value a lot more these days. Getting it whenever we can!
This is definitely the hardest (mentally) part of having a child. Make sure you prioritize time for self care...even if its just a few minutes of silence, warm bath, or a quick b ball game. It will help so much during this time. 💜
This morning I was watching a video from Meghan and Matt's channel where they filmed (2022) a van meetup in Moab. They gave a cameo appearance to a small brown dog with a bucked tooth and I'm like "that's Pacco! (sp?)". Then later in the video Frank appeared for a brief moment with a FnA sticker... bingo. I barely recognized Frank but your dog.... ya. Cutie pie. Congrats on the baby, having children was the best, most rewarding thing I ever did.
Takes us back, you all are looking very well ! We were not as together as you till like baby three ! You all are rocking this ! It gets to be a bit of a blur from here on in, gonna be a great ride 👍
Hey, I had hack for you. Make a raised 3 sideded baby box and bed (couch cushion) next to moms side of the bed. Slide a piece of wood under the mattress to keep the box from slipping away creating a crevice. Then add 2 dowels staple with a soft breathable mesh to go across the open section like a gate. I'm thinking 2 rings on the side of the box with a slit for the mesh to pass through but that the wood dowels snugly fit into. That way mom can stay in bed, move the gate, scoot in to breast feed, scoot out replace the gate. Having a mesh wall would allow you to still be skin to skin almost and then a reduced risk of sids or suffocation while still getting to cosleep. Just a thought it might make your life easier, baby safer, and give you guys more rest. Biggest of hugs to you both I'm so happy for you. You're so much love and I love you together been watching a long time❤.
Thank you so much for the idea Erika!! That does sound really nice and an easy way to keep the baby close but still in her own space 🥰 lots of love!! Xo
Better you than me. 😂 All kidding aside, so happy for the 4 of you. Such a different daily emphasis is great once in a while. Will make you appreciate when she moves to the next step and the next and the next.....
It's ok if baby cries ... 😂it's good for them actually! She will manipulate you fyi... I had to let my infant son cry at night, two nights until he learned to self sooth per the doctor. It was difficult but it worked! ❤
Great team. I would probably get nothing done and try to sleep as much as I can lol. I’ve never had a kid that I just like sleeping my mom has always told us how hard it is she had 3 of us in 4 years. Y’all are doing great though
Hey guys, love you bunches! Don't know if it would help but when my daughter was a baby, I would have to keep her in the swing rocking at night next to the bed . That was the only way she would sleep is if she was rocking. Just an FYI for ya! Good luck and just know that you will get a routine figured out soon.
Whatever works right!? We have a swing upstairs that she likes sometimes. I'm not sure if she would stay in it all night long 🤔 next time we have a hard night, we'll give it a go!
She needs to wait for the Dr. to clear her after having a C-section for any lifting or strenuous activity. Usually after 6 weeks. Lots of reclining still. If something hurts - rest

Absolutely! It's the same for us - filming these projects always adds extra time, which few people in our space ever mentions, and of course, nothing tops the priority list like our little ones do.
For sure! Wouldn't change a thing but having a full time babysitter or van builder would help tremendously!
Those baby noises are the sweetest sound 😍 parenthood looks so amazing on both of you ❤️❤️❤️
Awww even the screaming ones??? Lol thank you so much for the love Christina!
Enjoyed this video. It was nice to see you all doing so well, and Paco. Take care
Aw thank you so much Sharon! Hope you're doing fn'awesome too!!

Hahah hopefully the lack of sleep doesn't lead to any big mistakes 😅 now we've got like 5 full time jobs LOL

You guys are rocking this❤❤❤ side note: how are you not at over 100k yet, your vlogs are some of the best!
Thank you so much Elizabeth! Maybe we'll get there someday! 🥰
You both are doing an amazing job. Thumbs up and love from S. California
Thank you!!!! Two very enthusiastic thumbs up for this comment 👍👏
I know it’s hard but it won’t last forever. You both fell into it like you’ve been doing it all your lives. She’s really pretty!
