I just got the x900f, and while it’s certainly overpriced, it’s a quality TV. I returned my TCL R6 twice because of the terrible uniformity issues and “dirty screen effect” and paid the difference for the Sony. TCL has a way better UI with Roku, but at the end of the day, picture performance is what matters. Keep up the great content, Joelster! You have a loyal fan and friend here!
Umbrella Ops Thanks brother, I agree with you, Picture quality is outstanding on this tv, my biggest complaint so far is Android OS, I can't use the vudu app, it wont let me update it, its very annoying. It is also very slow and not as responsive as Samsung's OS or Roku.
I just got this tv and I'm certainly not disappointed. However I want to know if there is a way to calibrate my display settings to get the best blacks out of this thing if you could hold me I would appreciate it so very much
Hi. I have the X900F and the UBP-X800. Is it worth buying the UBP-X800M2 for the Dolby Vision support?

Thank you for your reviews. The colours of this tv seems natural and accurate and the viewing angles are actually very good especially if consider the fact it's a VA panel. Only downsides in my opinion is that awful IR remote control from last centur and only 2 hdmi full bandwidth ports.
I find Sony remote way easier to use than LG. I thought the cursor was amazing as an interface to use the TV and going back to regular remote will be a downgrade, but now I can say that Sony is way more flexible. I don't need to wake the cursor, I don't need to go anywhere with the cursor to change something, it takes more time on LG to do basic stuff.

Steam Stories you must try a Samsung remote.... I'm planning to swap my new 3 month old samsung tv for an Oled or even one of these, and after trying the Samsung remote this is something I'm paying attention in the alternatives. The small Samsung remote control is from another world and when compared to these bricks from Sony is the same as going into dinosaur era. IR remotes are not acceptable these days and specially at this level
I own this TV in 75in and have a quick question. To experience hdr must the TV setting have hdr mode set as auto, hdr10 or off? I have it set as off and hoping my blu-ray is processing hdr for my tv. Am i doing it wrong?
The best configuration you can have for dolby vision on your X900F is as follows. image quality image quality increases dramatically. 1- put the diming room on High 2- put the color temperature in neutral and raise the color to 55. 2- put the creation of reality in auto. 3- raise the dynamic contrast to low, do not go over there.
Bro you need to give the NU8000 a go. I was between the NU8000 and the SONY X900F i ssw them both and i gotta say the NU stole my heart. Not to mention the beast input lag for gaming. The 55 version of the NU8000 hasgaming motion plus option which lets you use motion interpolation and low input lag. Think of it as if any game was running at 60fps. BEAST. I am hopeful the 49 version (the one i have) will get an update that brings the motion game plus feature. NU8000 was made for gamers.
Q7FN has ABL like LG OLED and is aggressive, when there is something bright on the screen, the total brightness of the screen goes way down. It does that to protect itself as the leds gets very hot, I know that from my x930e, but Q7FN being very thin, it can't sustain for more than 10 seconds. This may not be a problem for some, but there is a delay of 0.5 to 1 second before ABL is engaged and it will make you sick, on LG OLED, the picture is analyzed before the next scene appears and is already rendered at a lower brightness level than previous scene. Also 2018 QLED don't support DTS, you need a separate player to play movies with DTS, cheap TVs have DTS, but a $4000 Samsung Q9FN doesn't.
Hey Dude, great vids. When you were running your tests in Netflix, were you using the built in Android netflix app, or a separate streamer like Apple TV 4K? I am picking this TV up next week and can't decide if I should use a streaming box (Like Rokue / Apple 4K, etc) or try to use the apps on Android TV.
Hello man, between Q7Fn at 55 and X900F what tv do you think its best. For watching movies and for gaming too.(ll use it as a PC monitor) I know samsung has lower imput lag,but how much difference does this make in real life?
I just got this tv i love it but do you notice light blooming all around the center? is that normal on this yours doesn’t seem to have it like mine any tips would be nice
If the blooming is too much that is not normal, you have to return the tv. There is always blooming but it shouldn't be to a point where it makes you uncomfortable.
how you place this tv in your house will also determine how the picture quality will look like. It is better to position this tv in a table stand. And your tv stand have to be high a little bit. The tv shouldn't be sitting very low.
yes it can. the native app plays mp4 and avi. if you download vlc from the android app store you can even play mkv h.265 files. in full hdr glory. it's pretty fantastic. having access to the app store is such a huge plus.
haierthanhai yea I downloaded the vlc Player too, one of the best Player. Android is nice but it feels very slow lol and makes the TV Boot up time to 30 seconds.
Afura33 yea EVERYTHING gets laggy, even local file play gets very juddery and I think I figured out the cause. Android TV tries to keep all your apps running in the background so you need to remember to exit them manually or when you notice lag. you can access the background apps by holding HOME. it works pretty much the same way as the square button on your android phone. cheers!
Yea I don't know, I like android on phones, it is really awesome, but on TV's it is terrible. I wish sony had his own operating system for tv's. Sony makes so good TV's and then they put a trashy operating system on it. I hate this long boot up time, I had the same thing with my older tv which had android TV. All the others tvs without android are booted up in seconds. If you are experiencing juddering with your Sony TV then try this here out, it helped a lot of people with the 50hz bug. Press "home" button, "setting", then "audio" and then "A/V sync" put it on "on" (not automatic, must be on "on"). Tell me if it worked for you.
Hey joelster i just recently got a pretty good open box sale in a 55 inch ks8000 i need your help about game mode and the best quality setting i can get for 1080p 60hz. Yes i have a 4k tv but games that are 1080p on the switch or non 4k titles on playstation are a concern with picture quality. Your vids are great keep up the great work
thekillermaster 666 hell no does that tv doesn’t come close to the q8 and q9. The q9 destroys the 900f from blacks to brightness. Even the q8 beats the 900f. I work with these tv all day every day.

steven seagal Um, hdr 10 +.....you mean Samsung's version of Dolby. Same sh$t different day. Oled is unmatched and qled gimmick will never match it. Just not possible. Qled is more of a gimmick then anything. Just a fancy led. I'm personally not big on oled because of burn in. But at the price of q9f, I'll take the LG oled all day. As for Sony vs Samsung it comes down to preference. I personally prefer Sony's more realistic viewing experience and they tend tend to handle movies better. Samsung are usually over saturated. Some people love that. Samsung has nothing that matches Sony at the 900f price range though. Qled prices are insane considering what's out there. Great for gaming though. The q7c really is lackluster when it comes watching actuall movies considering what it's price last year. Also, it's edge lit.
Q6 is not a high end tv and that is priced the as sony 900f. They are both mid range tvs. Except the Qf6 is a horrible. The point is you can can't compare tv's the are not in same price range. The 900f or E is the probably best value on market. If you don't game what is the point paying up for the Samsung. Ill take the mid range Sony 900f all day over the more EXPENSIVE Q7 for my movie watching.

Play Xbox one x and tell me why the Xbox doesn't support HDR 10 for gaming with this TV? Is it cause Microsoft is only supporting it with Samsung TVs? I've switched it to every HDMI input and it still says it doesn't support HDMI 10 for gaming with the Xbox
Joelster G4K then why does my Xbox one x says it doesn't support HDR 10 for gaming? I can't wait to see your video. Hopefully you figured out why the Xbox says it doesn't. I'm using the original cable that came with the Xbox. Thinking of getting the Belkin 2.1 HDMI cable and hope it fixes itself. I have the 65 inch version of this TV.
You have to change the external hdmi setting or whatever it is. I just bought the tv this week and it took me an hour to figure it out. It works with hdr with the Xbox one x. I think the option is in the Android menu and not the tv menu
Christian Hyde yeah I found it the same day I posted the comment. I don't understand why Sony just doesn't have it on from the beginning. Why is it something that we have have to activate. That is so stupid.

Take off 10 to 20 points off sharpness and use cinema home or pro, Turn colour to 50 or 60, noise reduction off contrast enhancer off or low, live colour off or low, local dimming high or medium.
Brightness - 100% Contrast - 50-85 (90+ gives white clipping) Sharpness - 100% Reality Creation - Off Both Noise Redution - Off (leave Auto for cable TV) Black Adjust - Off / Low Dimming - Low Black Level - 48 to 50 Gamma - -2 to 0 Extended dynamic range - high Adv. Contrast Enhancer - Off (never enable) Smooth gradation - low/medium I would choose color space BT2020, color 50, live color high, color temp neutral, this is very subjective.
If you disable reality creation and both noise redution and reduce gamma by 1 or 2 and contrast to 60-80 sharpness to 100 will look like it should, very 3D like OLED, with clear delimitation between objects at different distances. You can use whatever settings you want on your tv. Sharpness at 50 I would use on low bitrate and/or low resolution content or very grainy movies.
y paid 1000$ for the 55'' in the usa?it was a good deal!!!normal price is 1499$ on sony's website, this is by far the best tv of 2018 ,mid range tv with high end specs and low budget price ',-)
I saw this tv at best buy in 55 inch and it didn't impress me at all. Then I saw the qled's 7 8 and 9 and was blown away, especially the 8 and 9 qled's. I stared at them for like an hour from different angles and distances.
Joost van der Werf They do have a beautiful picture on their qled's! I also liked the beautiful picture on the LG and Sony oleds! They had a little shrine set up for them too, and their clear dark picture was amazing , but I'm just not willing to take a chance on the burn in issue because I do a lot of gaming and watch a lot of news, and I just don't watch a lot of movies. Maybe in a few years after their technology is more advance on them, they will definitely be on my buying radar!
Ed T I game a lot on my lg oled. My mother watches news everyday and football plus boxing matches all the time. We both never had a burn in issue. If worried you will get burn in then buy a oled from best buy and their warranty which covers that.
Hhemenistan I dont like samsung tv's. Sony is cool but don't like their picture settings how you cant save its own setting to each HDMI input and how only 2 inputs on their tv's support hdr and dolby. I returned the sony oled and then got the 900e wasnt satified either so got cash back and went back to lg oled.
I'm am so sick of hearing about Dolby Vision because at this point it is a gimmick. In fact HDR is a gimmick at this point. First there is no standard , HDR 10 is broken in
thomas vinelli the problem is that when 4k output is encoded with any form of HDR the picture is to dark with colours washed out so therefore this Sony is not a genuine 4KTV.
This tv is overhyped for what it is . Picture quality is great in 4K like Almost in any tv . The os sucks , sound sucks too and what is saw and drives me crazy is that the motion is not soft and smooth in panning scenes .
love my x900f so much that I bought a second larger one and I am very satisfied with quality and pictures

Adrian Falkirk Oh yes, I noticed right away the colors and contrast look amazing on the xbox one x and ps4 pro, I am working on those videos now.
Joelster G4K ok bro,thanks for quick respond😀😀😀😀😀😀
I was going to buy this model but then i read a lot of comments regarding dark corners on this tv. Is that so? Is it very noticeable?
How it possible to Dolby Atmos Because this TV doesn't support Dolby Atmos but your Netflix app show the logo of Dolby
I had my DA soundbar connected.
@@JoelsterG4k Sony x900f has had a update to play dolby vision hasn't it?
@@ryanw0987 Yes, it now supports dolby vision, I think I should have a video about it.
@@JoelsterG4k ok wot are your thoughts on the LG sk9000?
I have 900xe tv and it can play 17 gig 4k x265 HDR movies.... Amazing. I did the same test on Sam and LG 2017 models but failed .
Bro wanted to know if this is a 4K Ultra Sony TV??
Yes..it is.
+ its 4k certified
Plz review sony 55 x7500f
Take off 10 to 20 points off sharpness and use cinema home or pro, Turn colour to 50 or 60, noise reduction off contrast enhancer off or low, live colour off or low, local dimming high or medium.
Always VIRAL Thanks, you have any settings suggestions for gaming, sdr and hdr.?
Brightness - 100%
Contrast - 50-85 (90+ gives white clipping)
Sharpness - 100%
Reality Creation - Off
Both Noise Redution - Off (leave Auto for cable TV)
Black Adjust - Off / Low
Dimming - Low
Black Level - 48 to 50
Gamma - -2 to 0
Extended dynamic range - high
Adv. Contrast Enhancer - Off (never enable)
Smooth gradation - low/medium
I would choose color space BT2020, color 50, live color high, color temp neutral, this is very subjective.
Steam Stories sharpness should be left at 50% or reduced to 40% or 30%
If you disable reality creation and both noise redution and reduce gamma by 1 or 2 and contrast to 60-80 sharpness to 100 will look like it should, very 3D like OLED, with clear delimitation between objects at different distances. You can use whatever settings you want on your tv. Sharpness at 50 I would use on low bitrate and/or low resolution content or very grainy movies.
Those woman were banging hard box box lol
1389£ this sony 49 in Scotland, how much in usa?????
Adrian Falkirk Its $1100 usd. Here plus tax is around $1200 dlls.
y paid 1000$ for the 55'' in the usa?it was a good deal!!!normal price is 1499$ on sony's website, this is by far the best tv of 2018 ,mid range tv with high end specs and low budget price ',-)
You can buy a 55" B7 or C7 OLED for £1399 in the UK. The 55" 900F is £1699. That's way over priced.
therider04 55xf9005 for 1900 euro in Ireland. Joke.
6:39 you can see the flashlightling on the right. Not good:/
That's from the camera, the TV had no problems.
Podrías hacer una review de la Hisense h9e plus
luis corral Si mas adelante lo hare.
Joelster G4K muchas gracias man
I saw this tv at best buy in 55 inch and it didn't impress me at all. Then I saw the qled's 7 8 and 9 and was blown away, especially the 8 and 9 qled's. I stared at them for like an hour from different angles and distances.
psykosonikwarrior the Q7 has the worst quality out of the Qled TVs
Colors are not as great and viewing angles lose a lot of details and color
Always s Samsung fans around Sony tv review!! Even Rtings and HDTV test gave low points to sam tvs
The 65 Inch doesn't have brx nor Bravia in the corners
Hahaha I have the 65" x900f. It has the bravia and xbr. What are you even talking about?
Good tv until u get the turning on and off by itself cause the x900e and x900f are known for this problem
Omg it looks so small, compare to mines the 65 Inch lol
Princee Erick comparing sizes now uh..!! 😂😂, yes I can only imagine.
Joelster G4K this is so little lol 😂😂😂😂
I'm Soo salty.
Sony TV's are the slowest TV's....don't use them for gaming. Samsung and TCL TV's are way faster for gaming.
I'm am so sick of hearing about Dolby Vision because at this point it is a gimmick. In fact HDR is a gimmick at this point. First there is no standard , HDR 10 is broken in
I have videos that shows the difference between HDR and SDR, but you are free to believe what you want.
thomas vinelli the problem is that when 4k output is encoded with any form of HDR the picture is to dark with colours washed out so therefore this Sony is not a genuine 4KTV.
This tv is overhyped for what it is . Picture quality is great in 4K like
Almost in any tv . The os sucks , sound sucks too and what is saw and drives me crazy is that the motion is not soft and smooth in panning scenes .
