Continued prayers for Pete's recovery. I watched Lauren's video. Good to hear he's on the mend. Some nice looking red oak. Cold up there eh Mark. Stay warm and god bless
Thanks for checking in Doug! Ya could send a few degrees of heat north this week. We will be back in a mud-hole next week- upper 40’s and rain. Wasn’t that awesome looking red oak! Take care! ZZ Mark
Thanks for the update on Pete. I watched the video Lauren posted recently. She is a saint. She spoke from the heart and pulled no punches. God bless her, Pete, and you fellows for sharing the news. -->Ric
Great to see some sawing, I've been laid up now for a little while with recovering from a major brain tumor surgery myself. All things considered, I'm doing really well, but I'm a little worried about all the folks I follow here and there. I would say this winter is worse than the first Covid year with folks struggling. I've been saying a lot of prayers for folks, and I will continue to. Here's to a few more prayers and hopes we all still gather in our groups come spring to share the love our friendships and hobbies.
Thank you, boys, for the care you feel for Pete, aka nuts319. I have watched all his videos once, and boy, there are a ton of them. I will be watching again, but this time, I will try commenting on them as I am told it helps put his channel out there faster. Also, whoever reads this, please add a like and subscribe. Besides that, the red oak is stunning. Love Eddie's view 😍 ❤️ on his channel.
Enjoying your video as it’s too cold to go out, thermometer at the local airport bottomed out at - 50 C or about 60 below zero F in Northern Alberta., going to start getting a little warmer starting to morrow and getting a little snow. We’ve been spoiled so far this year but it sure hit us big time, that oak looks awesome, always think about what I could make out of it. Encouraged that Pete is doing better, our prayers are for him to get a complete recovery. He’s blessed to have Lauren. Stay warm my friends.
Thanks for letting us know how to help Pete by viewing and liking his videos nuts319, how is your eye recovery going ?,shame about the shaker cracks in the red oak log ,it was some lovely looking boards
Mark, T.H.E. Eddie and ZZ Mark I would like to put a Big Thank You for putting out the word about Pete (Nuts319) accident the word sure got out there to the other sawers I just seen Lauryns video on Pete's update video. Pete will have a Long road to recovery for sure my prayers, well wishes and good thoughts goes to Pete, Lauryn and his family. keep up the good works and those red Oaks are so beautiful. I sure love THE Eddies channel I watch this channel first then hop over to Eddies channel
Was 7° here in Arkansas this morning with 1 1/2" of snow. You are welcome to come get your crazy weather any time now. Glad to see ya'll hard at work. I'll just stay warm here in my shop.
Thanks guys that really made my wifes day hearing the happy birthday wishes for her and my babygirl too.... It is really nice to have the people you support to recognize you back and yall are great guys thanks
Thanks for the update on Pete. Their are a lot of videos on Pete updates but not being from the area you don’t know who to believe and who is click bait. I know you guys know him and I’m hoping his girlfriend will do more updates on his nuts319 platform. Nice oak BTW !
Hey fellas, I really enjoy watching your videos, they keep me glued to the TV when watching them. I am an HVAC contractor. About 20 years ago, I purchased an electrical cabinet cooling unit that never got used, was paid for by the customer and then they changed their minds on using it and said to keep it. I have no use for it at all, but it might be of assistance for removing humidity from your control booth, and you can have for shipping costs it if there is any interest. If not, that's fine too. It would mount on the roof. I can send further info if you so desire. Please let me know. Sincerely, Dave from Troy, Ohio
Like a few others I have watched Lauryn’s update last week and have to say she is incredibly strong and brave under the circumstances. Good to hear Pete is making progress on the road to recovery, get well soon buddy. 🙏🏻
Hello Bus Motor Crew, I've been going thru Pete's Videos and Shortcakes and I like the dual cameras from both ends, Ya'll stay warm cold is coming in fast.. John Toccoa
Totally understand the too cold to saw thing. It's currently -6° in balmy SD. Which, sadly, is the warmest it's been in 3 days. Great looking boards coming out of those logs...beautiful. Thank's for a saw video, I look forward to more shop videos! Off to check out nuts 319...
As soon as you mentioned the other sawyer's quarter sawing video, I stopped yours and jumped over to Andruws Lumber to watch it. Man, they produced some beautiful wood!!! Thanks for the tip.
Hi Mark. Zeezy Mark and Thee Eddy. Looks like nice weather. And the bus motor sounds like running smooth. Wow. Here's good wishes to the crew. Regards Andries from SA. 😅😅😅😅😅😅
I have to say you guys or right it's nice to have a great lady bc I had fell and broke my back little over 5 years ago and she has stuck by me with me not being able to walk and everything else I've had to go through but I diffently look for when you all post videos bc I enjoy watching them
Thanks Mark. I will check on Pete’s content, subscribe and set alarm. It’s interesting that you only have a bit of fuzz on you chin while your crew have significantly long beards. A curious observation only. Keep warm and stay safe out there. Wishing you, your team and Pete another blessed week. Peace brother
Beautiful red oak Mark your video with the edger included is great but o know you can only do it if you have a extra helper or someone is going to be hustling around
Hey guys; you’re right that was some beautiful red oak, makes me kinda jealous.anywho, I hope when you do get back to work you could do a few more of those monster logs because I like to watch you take them apart
The plus side to this blast of cold weather is that it will freeze up the ground and fix the mud problem around the mill. Your video production is getting better with splicing in edger cam footage as you are sawing.
Two suggestions for winter videos. I've been watching since you were sawing without a roof over your head. How about compiling old video to show what you've accomplished. Second might take some audience participation. It would be fun to see what gets built out of lumber you produce. Thanks for the channel and the videos.
I live in southeast Alaska, been down to 8-10 degrees, I shut my mill down until it get in to the 20’s, your right when gets into single digits, things break
Firsts and Seconds (FAS) The best and most expensive grade. Boards 6" and wider, 8' and longer. Yields 83-1/3 percent of clear face cuttings with minimum sizes of 4" x 5' , or 3" x 7'. Board is graded from the poorer face. Suitable for fine furniture, cabinetry and applications where clear, wide boards are needed.
I hope Nuts 219 gets better also . I was told you can't saw a split in half log . My brother had one white ash that was 16 feet split in half perfectly square down the middle and said you cant saw it never ask why , you split that one log and quarter sawed it . Do some sawyers not want to cut them like that ? If a log has a split in the end can it be cut on the split or that don't work because it may twist though the log? Really enjoy you sawing especially seeing the grain in the wood ,some times old junk logs has beautiful grain in then waiting to be discovered .
Five o’clock in the morning thems exceptional logs not a blemish in site, lady who does my book’s invoices has got glasses to drive at night she had cataracts removed says her sight is as good at night as it was before might be worth speaking to your doctor mark, now you’ve posted Pete’s RUclips names I’ll subscribe and watch some of his videos hope this helps , anyway you guys have a nice day
When grade, at least the way I was taught almost 50yrs ago, was by flipping each and every board to check knots and type and size of knots. Like pin knots, spike, loose. So forth
Hi Mark & the boys! Would it be practical to add one more covered section on the end to protect the new edger and the guys on the catching end? Also you must admit the ladies at LCLY are easier on the eyes and have less facial fur.
I have had trouble seeing the laser light ever since you got the new overhead lights. I have been watching a lot of your old videos and I was wondering if you ever got the wood dryer to work???? Good to see you and the rest of the guys.
I can see the laser when it's cloudy there but as long as YOU see it is what matters. NICE oak and if you didn't have to keep a running commentary going you could concentrate more BUT maybe a voiceover would be in order sometime and let the bus motor roar and the saw scream. All the best to You and the Whole Crew from us hillbillies! God Bless

Thank you McKinley!
@markgalicic7788 I know in the grand scheme of things that it's not much, but I'm praying for a full, complete and speedy recovery for him.

Circular saws have a rhythm that band saws can't produce 1 of the reasons I watch Mark's vids 😊 😂
Beautiful red oak Mark your video with the edger included is great but o know you can only do it if you have a extra helper or someone is going to be hustling around
thanks Doug , yes very true.
Nice boards. I like the two video. Back to back. My big decision is which one to watch 1st. Take care.
thank you.
Single digits and below in Michigan hopefully a warm up is on the way
Good evening from Lincolnshire UK.
good evening Andrew.
Hey guys; you’re right that was some beautiful red oak, makes me kinda jealous.anywho, I hope when you do get back to work you could do a few more of those monster logs because I like to watch you take them apart
thanks James , I like the big logs too!
I checked Andrew’s Lumber as suggested. Very interesting. And they do make it all look easy but that’s their experience showing.
That is some beautiful Oak
thanks George.
The plus side to this blast of cold weather is that it will freeze up the ground and fix the mud problem around the mill. Your video production is getting better with splicing in edger cam footage as you are sawing.

Nice lloking lumber. The edger cam is an interesting addtion.
thanks Jerry.

Nice oak! Hi from Romania!
thank you , Hi Romania!
@@markgalicic7788 and I can see the laser 90 percent of the time 😅
Nice roak. I thought I saw Eds ears wiggle a little when you first opened that big log up.
thanks David , they did lol!
Brrr! Cold.
cold here all week.
Ever consider hanging some tarps over the openings to cut down on the cold from the wind.
no they just blow around and hit everyone just not worth sawing when it's to cold.
Also thanks for the shoutout mark
your welcome.
Firsts and Seconds (FAS)

yes we know that but you need to start with a board no less than 6" x 8' not a 4"x 7' board that is going to be a select.

thanks Patty , we can't split logs in half on this mill because of the log deck just too dangerous.
I'm surprised you worked on that day. Mill I work for is down due to the 15 degree wx.
I don't run the mill below 25F just not worth it.
That last log you cut would have an excellent veneer beautiful log
it had some shake in it.
Five o’clock in the morning thems exceptional logs not a blemish in site, lady who does my book’s invoices has got glasses to drive at night she had cataracts removed says her sight is as good at night as it was before might be worth speaking to your doctor mark, now you’ve posted Pete’s RUclips names I’ll subscribe and watch some of his videos hope this helps , anyway you guys have a nice day
thank you Alex.
Might want to try getting an isometric view of the edger/gang saw in action.
I have done some videos like that just hard to do in the cold weather.
Hi guys, just wondering which side of the board gets graded. Keep up the good work.
When grade, at least the way I was taught almost 50yrs ago, was by flipping each and every board to check knots and type and size of knots. Like pin knots, spike, loose. So forth
Thanks, I guess I should ask which side determines the grade. I think, hard wood is from the poorest side.
Hi Mark & the boys! Would it be practical to add one more covered section on the end to protect the new edger and the guys on the catching end? Also you must admit the ladies at LCLY are easier on the eyes and have less facial fur.
yes it would but we don't own the land here , yes the girls are very pretty lol!
-4 this morning in Michigan. I suspect we won't be seeing you until the warm up at the end of January........
yes we stay cold all week.
You should get some yellow glasses for driving at night they make a world of difference
great idea.
Not sure where you are,but it was about that or lower here in Logan Co.,Ark!!
we are in western PA.
I have had trouble seeing the laser light ever since you got the new overhead lights. I have been watching a lot of your old videos and I was wondering if you ever got the wood dryer to work???? Good to see you and the rest of the guys.
thanks Alan , the kiln is on hold due to power.
God Bless
thanks Lewie.
Sure, pal. We're ready! Stay warm! Burn WOOD!@@markgalicic7788
I use to saw and plane lumber in northern Alberta temperature of 35 below 0
it's not worth getting anyone hurt and breaking things.
Some cold weather we have been getting 🥶
"cut your losses" gets a different /dual meaning at that place. Rot, bark incursion, vane (vain? Spelling?)
It's just too cold here to do anything outside. I froze going to the grocery store.
Bill
yes I hate the cold Bill , bring on the heat lol.
Explain again what ASA lumber is??
FAS is first and second grade , you need a 6" x 8' clear cutting to make that grade.
Is shake a result of only mechanical damage during the handling of the log or can it be natural as a result of storm damage during the life of the tree? Is shake more likely a result with a log with high internal stress?
shake can be from wind or falling a tree .
Hey brother, i haven’t seen the pictures of the drive end for your inch wheel yet.
thanks Russ been very busy I will get it to you soon as it warms up.
Shake is where the sinner of the tree gets weak where it grows, and then wind gets it busted from the stump
good info.
Ohhh boy I wonder how much you paid for those red oaks Mark, hope you boys are making some monet my brothers, cos the the world seems going upside down lately ! Anyway tell ZZ to get a trim lol😅
we did ok on these red oaks .
Ya always gotta pay something, so you might as well pay attention.
