Just to add: Those Silvertone guitars were sold, mostly mail order from Sears & Roebuck catalog. They were made & sold under license by a compay known as Danelectro, which reissues can still be had today at many retail locales, including online. ;) :) Rock On!!
Just now ran across these guys. I'm not sure how I've missed them until today. they sound pretty damn good though and I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for these cats in the future.

Hush yo mouth and tan my hide when I’m dead. Tack it down tight for a homemade banjo head. Squeezebox lungs, a ribcage xylophone, Headbone bongos, just a beat ‘em however you want. Gut strings strung to an old-time, crooked tone. I want to make music in the days long after I’m gone. Clear on to the Judgment Day, I want to hear the music play. It’s the one kind favor that I ask just before I go. Come on and maybe, baby, play along Come on a maybe, baby, play my bones! Hey pretty baby, slay me down to the bone. Hey pretty mama, thrill me down to the bone! Work them fingers on down to the bone You won’t get a break till the cows come home. You won’t even get you an ice cream cone, So take what you will after Kingdom Come! Hey pretty baby, slay me down to the bone. Hey pretty mama, thrill me down to the bone! Down to the Bone Down to the Bone Just, down to the bone.

SEE THESE GUYS!
A Silvertone, had one in the 70's. They were the cheep guitars that young guys like me could afford. Now you would be lucky to even find one.
