Comparison is in my opinion, one of the most important aspects of a good review. With so many great options out there, even though there might be one boot in particular that interests you, by way of comparison, you might come to realize that something else might actually be better for you! But sometimes there's no need for comparison, because some football boots are just the best! Or in this case, the competition just isn't up to par.
In today's video we take a closer look at the Nike Tiempo Legend 9 Elite, a football boot that in my opinion, has little to no competition in the modern leather boot category. I go over all the details of what makes these so great, what the alternatives are, and why the Tiempo is most likely going to be the best choice for you! This is a fantastic colorway. Grey boots always look good in my opinion.
They look really good in person! It’s a unique color without being too flashy, which I like!
They look so clean
To me, the best Tiempo has been the legend 7. They kept the shape as tight as possible even though they were leather boots. Also, the flyknit tongue was better than in this model. This model is amazing, I always wore Hypervenom and Tiempo, and I am a forward... But I had to say something bad about the Legend 9 it would be how loose they get not after a while, and I know is something tough to avoid in a leather boot, but they have to improve that.

Personally I have the leather variety of the NB furon v6+ and absolutely love them. Tons of leather coverage and great stud pattern. Very true they have no popular competition from top brands though. People def sleep on NB

A major part part of why I wear mainly Tiempos for the last 7-8 years is because of this channel. Especially the pro model which has such great reviews on here
The Tiempo even the lower model and the high-end model has no competition. They are always favorable and hardly on discount but worth every penny you pay for. I've been using tiempo most of the time except for last year when I switched to Copa sense 2. but not up to my expectation so switched back

The only competition for the tiempo, is the Nike premier.
This is pretty much how the Nike Maestri would be if you think about it. Maybe do a comparison?
My best boots I ever brought was the Tiempo legend 7s then the upper ripped from severe use, I cant wait to try these. I wasn't sold on the 8s

I ordered these boots in the white red and yellow colourway it was a great boot felt amazing and everything but the durability was awful after a few weeks of use they started ripping and fading really dark
did you replace them for another pair ? or bought the tiempos again ?
Just got these in this colour way, upgraded from my legend 7 to these and these are incredible, always been a tiempo guy but these are everything that a tiempo should be and nothing that it shouldn't. I do wish they kept the Flyknit tounge with the knitted ridges of the legend 7 as that was one of my favourite features, completely eradicated lace bite even when you pulled the laces as tight as possible.
Get a custom tongue from LeeandYang. They do absolutely cracking work.

Hey Josh, you have compared these boots to the Rebula's, probably because of the foam inserts. But in the leather category the Morelia II are definitely better than the Tiempo IX: the quality of the leather is better, soleplate is more comfortable, touch is better. Why did not you mention the Morelia?
In terms of categories,the Mizuno Morelia is its own thing given the boots are more old school with traditional tech and it’s main competitions are the adidas copa mundial and Nike premier along with the Lotto stadio OG and Diadora Brasil. Comparing the legend 9 elites with the Morelia 2 isn’t fair given how the style of both boots are different

Loved the tiempo for many many years until i stopped them 3 generations ago, now i just bought the tiempo legend 9 TF and i like them but not special, however I ordered the mizuno neo III and will get them in March and looking forward for these
As much as I love the tiempos and along with adidas adipure/11pros and predator definitely amongst my favorites but when switch to something like a mizuno,you basically wanna wear them over anything. Doesn’t matter if it is MIJ or standard Made in Indonesia models,they’re solid and durable but most importantly comfortable

@@eed9254 the sole plates of the mizunos are quite versatile to be honest, you shouldn't worry about it, and you can even watch other videos, you'll hear the same, that's why I love them tbh

I bought a pair of AG-Pro Legend 8 elites this month. I tried the Legend 9, but the thin and tight tongue material really put me off them. A Tiempo should offer some protection across the top of the foot, and in the tongue area the 9 offers none.
Cuz Nike wanted to go with this lightest leather boot ever which honestly is so gimmicky. Yeah they did achieved that but if anything at the expense of having a questionable tongue

Hey Josh, love your content. I have a more general question. I am definitely a leather boot man and go for things like comfort and feel over tech when I'm looking at boots, but the thing is I have very narrow feet and leather boots usually are geared more towards wider feet and i like a really tight fit.. I even have to wear 2 pairs of socks so my feet feel like they are filling out the boot. I've gone through the Nike Premier II, Diadora Baggio, Puma King Pro and Puma King Platinum Porsche over the last few seasons. all of them good but just not quite what I'm looking for. Basically, in the most long winded way possible, what I'm asking is if you could recommend a leather boot for someone with very narrow feet who likes a snug fit. I'm thinking of trying the Morelia Neo III next but not sure it's suitable for someone with very narrow feet. would love your feedback. Cheers.

Try and find a pair of Nike Tech craft pack. In the past they’ve released Mercurials and magistas with leather. Adidas has some as well. I have a pair of leather f50s and are super comfy and light weight.
Man, I would definitely not recommend the morelias since those are very wide in my opinion, cause I also have very narrow feet, look for something else

Is there a big difference wearing the FG version on AG? I feel that the studs are kinda rounded as well which suits AG.

You keep hyping up the Tiempo Legend 9 pro being a great value for $130 when the Legend 7 Pro which uses K leather and doesnt have that gimmicky foam pod crap in it can be had for well under 100 online. I got a new pair for $50 on ebay.

@@Soccerreviewsforyou but these have the problem that the outsole fail in the union with the leather upper in the inside or in the flexion zone (in 2 months of use I have these problem) 😡😥 ok many leather boots have the same problem BUT THE LEGEND 7 DONT HAVE THESE PROBLEM AND ITS A VERY DURABLE BOOT🔥🙌

Maybe a morelia neo iii elite if you have the money, if not, the pros are also a great choice but honestly don't know how those fit

The academy is a good model and it also has genuine leather , however I find the durability not as good. It's worth checking the pro model if you're on a budget
As I live in England n play often in rainy and muddy conditions, will the boots get heavy and wet inside or will the water mostly be kept out?
I’m in England too, they were fine in the rain and mud, though I got the colourway with the scribbled swoosh and the pink/orange soleplate and I don’t think the heel parts will ever be white again.
Why isn't there a PRO version for this colorway??
I was torn between these, pantofola doro superleggera 2.0’s, Adipure remake’s and Mizuno Morelia DNA’s. Ordered some DNA’s and sent them back immediately. Way too narrow and the soleplate on the left boot felt like shit for some reason, almost hurt my foot, maybe a defect but I’m size 11 UK so that’s my test with them over 😂 Where would you go next? I’m used to Vapor’s so I want whatever you would say is most similar to them with the added comfort of these models
Would be a good idea if you look at boots like the lotto stadio OG and Diadora Basil.. lots of comfort and just durable as hell
@@chanchaniceman not very similar to vapors though. I think Tiempo’s, Superleggera’s and the new Adipure’s add the comfort without too much compromise from the lightweight playing in your socks feeling. Just not sure which is the best suited for that as I live in the UK and can’t get any in a store. Absolute hassle ordering online, ive already sent some Mizuno DNA’s back 😂

Been playing in then for 4 months and they are fine. But i dont use them in rain or wet conditions.

Totally fine. Leather boots are much more resilient to wet weather than they used to be.

I bought a pair of the Mizuno Morelia DNAs and absolutely love them but the lockdown hasn’t been incredible. I’ll tie my laces tight but as I begin to run they loosen right out to the point where my heel is slipping considerably. Are there any solutions to help stop this?
Are they too big? I’ve never heard of anyone having that issue in a pair of Mizunos.

I have the Legend 9 pros and for whatever reason, I find that the insole slides a lot inside when making sharp twists and turns. Very off putting and feels unstable. Something I love in my Adidas X18.1’s is the padding in the heel and the lockdown, something Nike doesn’t really incorporate, going with smaller padding. I have tried a lot of boots and I was hoping for more from my Legend 9 pros, but I’m struggling to let go of my X’s as they’re possibly my favourite pair of boots I’ve ever worn. Thinking of going into Predator Freak.1’s next because I want the Adidas fit and the knitted feel, rather than the new synthetic on the X Speedflow

The newer Predators have mor of a narrow fit compared to the 19.1s. Espacially the midfoot was way to narrow for me

i had this and the mizuno morelia is better. This one is more stiff and bulky. The mizuno has the leather and the touch. Almost a similar feel to hypervenom og.

I’ve had two pairs of these as a turf trainer and on both, the soles came away from the upper at the toes. After two wears!
Both bought in store at Nike, and thankfully given a full refund.
I really wanted these boots to be great, as they felt amazing on foot.
That happened to me too and thankfully I also got a refund but I was very disappointed because in terms of comfort probably the best boots I’ve had!

I’d strongly recommend the AG version for use on artificial grass. Not as much for safety reasons, but more so for the sake of durability.

all that KLeathers you mentioned are so uncomfortable i wear 8.5 tried size 9 at tiempo 9 elite and found out that its a bit narrow and not long enough.do you have to go women sizing like if you are 8.5 get 10 :D wtf really WTF. Is there a trend that all soccer cleats have to be so narrow and you should size up after 30yrs old type ?

I want a pair of these, but K-leather is banned in CA.
I’m in CA too, go with the tiempo 9 pro, the only difference is the leather and it’s just as comfortable once you break it in.
You also save $100 too and they have the same colorways so it’s almost impossible to notice any difference unless you really try to find them!

Hello, I have a question for anyone who might know or want to help me. I want to buy a pair of copa sense.2 boots but since I'm from a third world country, there are none of those in my country. Since I have to bring them from abroad, I can't try them on beforehand. Do you know if trying the same model on a lower tier should be the same for choosing the size?
