I was a Copa 4 Lifer, until I bought a pair of Nike Tiempo Legend 9 AGs. I was amazed by the fit and comfort, and the touch and performance. I hate to admit it, but I've been converted.
Sorry Copa fam, the Tiempo is a better boot.

I got these today! Light years ahead of the current regular elite model. Odd though, why did they use an insole with the top surface that's very smooth and slippery?! Using grip socks helped lock down the sock in the heel part but the toe box is funny leaving toes wriggling around annoyingly. I just wish I don't have to use an insole replacement, and keep everything stock, you know.
I agree, that's my main criticism as well. I'm lucky that I have God-knows-how-many Legend 7-8-9s laying around that I can grab an insole from, but not everyone will be in that position. IMO a small dent in an otherwise great boot. /Jay
@@unisport True! haha one of those poor individuals is Moi! I've only got a V and an indoor R10 reissue and they don't feel the same and I lost the heel lockdown bit. Grrr. Annoys me greatly at the moment. LOL Would one from a Merc vapor 14 you think work? Or is it a different fit and shape? I've got one but haven't had the chance to test yet. Oh well, at least it's an honor to share the same observations and get a reply from yourself, the man, the YT legend. haha Many thanks, Jay. The fact that they are only slightly more expensive that the originals churned out in a factory in China is crazy to me.
Handmade in Italy by the finest Italian craftsmen made with special Algeria leather they should retail for £400+
The colourway won't be to everyone's liking but from a quality perspective they are unparalleled.

That just goes to show you how ridiculous Nike's profit margins are. The boots they mass produce in China are MUCH less expensive to make
Diadora be like excuse me cause they also happen to make their Made In Italy boots in the same town and although they charge a lot but definitely not for £400+.

What about when playing in wet conditions? As the leather is untreated does weather conditions affect appearance or?
My thoughts as well. Without that coating for protection I imagine grass stains won’t wipe away like regular tiempos.
If I own these, I'll only use these boots if the weather is dry or undercast.

How do these comapare to made in Italy Diadoras? Like the Brasil Elite 2 Tech?
I couldn’t find any info for cleaning and maintaining this boot. The fact that it’s untreated that means it gets grass stains seeps thru the leather really easily and I’ve been unable to get it out of the leather. I eventually sent it to a professional shoe cleaners and just wore it for another game today I think they ruined the boot as the leather seems to be falling off. So while I think the quality of the boot is stunning but the fact that Nike doesn’t provide any info for maintenance is piss poor. I have two more of the same pair but won’t dare wear them given I have no idea how to clean them properly.
These shoes are like expensive bullets. I have a pair unworn and have been thinking about doubling up.

They can (although you'll lose your warranty and I won't excatly recommend doing it), but I would personally wait for the AG version to drop. /Jay

Measure your foot in centimetres, that’s your Japanese size. convert that to US or UK and that’s your foot size, stay true to size theyll have to forcibly stretch if you go half a size down.
I used to think I needed to go half a size down for Mizunos and Diadoras but my foots actually 25.5 not 26 so I’m a 7.5 not an 8 ( my street wear shoe size)

So normally I'm a size 8 in football boots and really wanted these MI Tiempos. I managed to cop a size 7.5 only since it's sold out everywhere or on backorder in certain places.
The 7.5 fit a little snug on my toe area.
Do you think since it's leather the boots will stretch out to accommodate my foot?
I really don't want to return them, but I just don't want to have a pair of nice tiempos sitting on my shelf haha.
