Power Bank LED lights blinking explained

- Learn about the LED lights that power banks have and what they mean. The blinking lights signify different charging stages, depending on how many LEDs there are.
The standard setup is 4 lights, each of them signifying 25% of charge. But some power banks can have 3 or 5 lights instead of 4. Regardless of the number of lights, they all have a very similar purpose.
Sometimes, portable charges can also have lights of different colors: blue, green, and red being the most common.
Thank you for explaining the 'blinking' lights - very good. As you said, light number 4 blinking (of four) only means 75% plus.
I recently bought the Energizer 20,000 mAh which has a percentage LED display. I like it a lot and am very pleased with the product.
ME TOO! I also got Energizer specifically because of it's handy LED display. I don't get why all powerbanks can't have that, just a simple tiny display, that would tell me clearly, how many percents of power I still have 🙄
THANK YOU! 🤗 It seems so self evident now. I didn't understand why the 75 was blinking and the 100 wasn't showing...this is invaluable information imo...I'm subscribing :)
sir,i just want to ask the second time i put charging my power bank all LED lights are blinking nonstop,..i try to use other cable but it was the same,..the first time for charging it was blink one by one untill it come full charge but now,...nonstop blinking the 4 LED lights,.....waiting for your response
Run it will blast..
Very very bad English 🤮.
Does the xiaomi power bank one can be charge able by using iphone’s usb c cable charger
Thank you dude for explaining. Got a redmi 2 days ago and I finally opened the power bank that came with it I was so confused😂😅
If it’s less than 25% remaining then does that mean it won’t blink at all? Because mine doesn’t blink but I’m assuming it’s because i have less than 25% remaining
Thank you. I really needed to understand this.
my powerbank while charging the first light turns red and then white -any meaning to this?
Thanks for helping me understand about LED lights ..
Does anybody know what it means on Anker when only one light blinks when you push the button? When hooked up to a charger it shows it is at about 75% charger right now but when it's unplugged only one light blinks. When it first started doing this it wouldn't charge itself or devices at all but now it will charge but still only one light blinks even though it is charged up.
When you find out..lmk
I connected the output to my power bank to the power source (plug). Thinking that is the way to charge it instead of connecting it to input port. Would this have damaged the power bank?
No. Power banks have internal safety circuits preventing damage in these types of situations.
Thanx for explaining about the 4 LED lights. I thought they were a flashlight.
My question is about another light. The word "powerbank" lights up & changes colors. I have to push the button a couple times til it turns on. Does that mean the unit is on?
I'm not sure I completely understand your question, but generally, most power banks automatically get turned on once you connect them to a device you want to charge, such as a phone, for example.
Really, it changes color? I've never seen one like that (not that I know much about them, hence me being here lol). If you don't mind sharing, what kind of power bank are you referring to? My niece wants one for her b-day at the end of March and her soon to be 12 yr. old self would love one like that.
My powerbank makes high pitch noise while charging and discharging. Is that normal?
This can happen in different devices including power banks. It's not normal but it's generally not something dangerous. The noise can have several causes. We explored the topic in this article: www.powerbankexpert.com/portable-charger-making-high-pitched-noise/
sir what does it mean when my powerbank 4th light indicator(100 percent)doesnt working?busted light or there is problem with the batteries inside the powerbank?
It's difficult to say what the exact issue is. It's best to take it to a local electronics repair store for a correct diagnosis.
My Power bank 4 LEDs are blinking but when I put it on charging they are 3 LEDs ...
Please reply What's the problem, I bought it yesterday Redmi 20000mah power bank...
It likely means that the power bank is charged between 75% and 100%. In this case, it will have 3 LEDs while charging itself, and 4 LEDs while charging a different device. For more info, check out this page: manuals.plus/redmi/20000mah-18w-fast-charge-power-bank-manual#axzz7yshuYV1s
Hello
I bought a powerbank yesterday, i need to charge it to full before i can use it, when i bought it just 2 lights out of 4 were charged, i have successfully charged one makinb it 3 charged now, the fourth light has been blinking which shows still charging even after charging for a long time. But when i disconnect it from socket and put it on, all 4 lights come on, what does that mean? Is it fully charged?
It might be fully charged, yes. The charging pattern can vary slightly according to the power bank model. The best interpretation you can get is the one from the user manual.
same
I have a power add and it only has two lights on one side of the power on a button and one flashing light on the other side not 4 lights
So this one was one that wasn't charged for quite a while so I let it sit for quite a long time.
I actually did charged it before I started charging it at least I think I did because it was sitting so long not being charged and then finally the lights came on but only two and the third one keeps flashing so I don't know where they should leave it on for a longer time to see if it will stop flashing and hold or whether it's supposed to be flashing and letting us know that it's still charging.
You know anything about the power add charger?
I'm not sure what's the exact power bank model you have. I'd advise you to look for the user manual. They should clearly explain there what the blinking pattern is for your power bank. If you don't have the manual anymore, try searching for it online. You should be able to find it.
@@PowerBankExpert Thank you for getting back to me but my mistake was that I didn’t let the charger charge long enough to see that it has four lights I only saw the third one flashing I never seen the fourth one. I always took it off when the third would start the flash. This time I let it sit longer and I saw that the third one lit up and stood still and then it went to the fourth one and it was flashing and then I’ll far stop flashing and then I realized I didn’t read it correctly. So it has four lights not three. It’s a power ad. It’s a strong one. It has two charging ports one is Speedy with two lightning bolts and the other one is regular with one lightning bolt. Sorry for not being on my toes about my charger. I didn’t have a manual and I didn’t look one up. But I did discover that if a charger hasn’t been charged in a while and you let it sit for a while it will eventually light up or you can do charge it and then it’ll charge. I learned that from somebody who had a charger they hadn’t used in a while like mine and they let it sit for two weeks I didn’t do that long but mine finally charged after a day. Thanks a lot
I have 20000mah, i charges it over night but the next day it only has 3 LED lights, but when i charge it, 4 lights how then back to 3...basing on your explanation; it's already fully charged...
My power bank starts blinking and then turns off while I'm charging
Idk why it does that sometimes but it's annoying, it has 3/4 lights on but it starts blinking and turns off
It's difficult to say what's happening. Maybe the cable/wall socket connections are not good. Or maybe it has some internal issues.
How long should it take from one light blinking to go to two lights blinking?
I have the same model that you showed (PB200LZM) And it has been over 7 hours and its still charging (im using a 18w charger)....when it started from the first led it was consistent but as it reached the fourth led it kept blinking over 5h meaning its not fully charged...(i just got it) could it be that its a defect or its normal to do such things ?
I am facing the same problem
My Oraimo powerbank bank doesn't charge, the first light keep blinking when it is plugged or not. But what surprised me is that the torch light is working, what could be the reason??
Most likely it still has enough power for the torch. If you leave it on for a long enough time, the torch will go out as well. Try using another charger and charging cable and see if that works.
Please sir I really need your help urgently
My power bank stopped showing the led lights when you switch it on
And it enters a form of safe mode while charging, it just blinks each led light from the 4th to the first and on repeat and when unplugged it doesn't switch on
Please how can I fix this?
It's difficult to say exactly what the cause is. If possible try to find the user manual of your power bank and see what they say there. You can also try the troubleshooting ideas here and see if any of them work for you: www.powerbankexpert.com/power-bank-blinking-but-not-charging/.
My power bank starts blinking and then turns off while I'm charging
Idk why it does that sometimes but it's annoying
Sir in my mi 2i power bank it shows 4 lights blinking while charging but when use it to charge my phone then it suddenly goes to 3rd what should I do?
I think you should leave your power bank to charge longer until the 4th light is not blinking but is continuously on.
Why all 4 lights are blinking in Redmi power bank when connected to power?
You may check the online manual or the small book you got with the powerbank. There it is explained what is the meaning of four blinking lights.
I threw in a laptop USB-C charger and a 5th light came up BLUE, was a bit worried....but watching over it....seems like it is charging faster then normal. Interesting 🤔
I have an Urbn 27000mAH UPR 302 PD with 65W max power output. I have purchased it from Amazon in the month of Mar 2023. I have only been able to charge my iPhone 14 Plus 3 times with the Power bank and after that whenever I have put the Power bank for charging, initially the LED lights up one by one and on completion of the 4th LED lighting up, all 4 LED lights keep constantly blinking while it is connected to the wall charger. The moment I disconnect it from the wall charger, the Power bank is unable to charge anything. I have tried different Charging cables(USB A to C), Micro USB cable, cable provided along with the Power bank, but to no avail. Moreover, I have tried 30W WARP wall charger also, but no luck. Please advise what does all LED lights blinking at once indicate and what is the solution. Thanks in anticipation
The LED blinking patterns are not the same on all power banks. So it isn't easy to know exactly what it means in your case. The best way is to check the user manual that came with your power bank. You should have the explanation there. Usually speaking, when all 4 LED lights are lit constantly (not blinking), it means that the power bank is fully charged. But if they are blinking it might also signify a charging error.
I also have the same issue with the Urbn 65 W power bank. Once I reinsert the cable it starts to work. I am going to replace it.
I am also facing this same issue with this same product. Any help would be appreciated
I have problem with redmi 20 000 mah. Like the one you got. Dosent charge when inserting the cable. And when you press the light charger it blinks randomly all the lights
Try using a different cable and/or wall charger.
@@PowerBankExpert it didn't work
According to the user manual, the problem you're describing is a charging error. See more here: manuals.plus/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Redmi-20000mAh-18W-Fast-Charge-Power-Bank-2.jpg?ezimgfmt=ng:webp/ngcb1. Try getting in touch with Redmi support for further help.
Thank you sır 👍
I am unable to understand what is wrong with my power bank.
When I charge the power bank, 3 leds light up and 4th one blinks. I left it to charge 24 hour also still 4th led blinks.
When I try to charge my phone or other device using power bank, all leds glow at once and shutdown. Connected devices do not charge or even show charging for even a second.
When I press power button on power bank, all led glow at once and shutdown.
Can someone help here?
Please check the user manual of your power bank. Maybe it explains this behavior because it doesn't sound like a standard one. If you don't have the manual anymore, you can search for it on Google. Just make sure to search for the exact model you have.
Thank you
Mine is low but when I charge it started with the first led but after some time only the last led is blinking after it stop I used and charge my phone it goes down after some min of charging
Maybe the LEDs in the middle are not working anymore?
@@PowerBankExpert it a new one I bought it on Tuesday
@@faithomoregbe1667 hmm...the behavior you describe seems strange. Please consult the user manual and see if they explain the blinking system.
@@PowerBankExpert okay thank you
@@faithomoregbe1667 do you have the exact model? I'll try to look into it
Thanks a ton
My fourth led turn blue while charging why
If it's continuously blue, then most likely it means that the power bank is fully charged
But the third led is blinking...
@@Factoidfirework maybe it means that the power bank is charging correctly. I haven't seen this type of lighting yet on a power bank I own.
@@PowerBankExpert if its help I am using Ambrance 27000mh power bank
There is no instruction on my user manual about blue light
Am I the only one with ONE LED???
Power banks with a single LED are quite rare. It's best to consult the user manual if you still have it.
@@PowerBankExpert It didn't come with one.
Your explanation for Xiaomi Redmi powerbank is not correct. There are different LED patterns while charging vs while discharging. Everything is explained in the manual.
I just checked the manual and I'm not sure what you mean. As far as I can tell, the explanation in the video is correct.
@@PowerBankExpert For example when the capacity is at 50-75% *while discharging* the first three LEDs are blinking. But when the capacity is at 50-75% *while charging* then the first *two* LEDs are *ON* and the third one is blinking. Moreover - when you activate *low-current discharge mode* then the LEDs are blinking *one at a time* and cycling. Everything is explained clearly.
@@ChupoCro I understand what you're saying, but in the video, I did not cover discharging or low-current mode. I just discussed charging and what each light means. I watched it again, checked the manual and I don't see what wasn't presented correctly.
@@PowerBankExpert I've already explained. The title of the video suggests it will explain the meaning of the LED lights. You didn't explain what means when some of the LEDs are ON ane one of them is blinking vs the meaning of when *all* of them are blinking. And yes - you didn't explain what means when all the LEDs are blinking *one at a time* which is most of the time the main reason why someone would search for such information. Plus there is *one long blink + 9 times shorter blink + one long blink* for reporting the battery level when you short press the button and "one at a time blinking" when you long press a button.
Sir please reply
No shit.
