Oh, the pledge drive thank you gifts during the kids shows. Everything else were tote bags, umbrellas, VHS tapes, and an occasional tickets to a show. But when seeing the ones for the kids shows, it felt like walking through a PBS Kids gift shop of sorts. It felt wonderful.
well mystery solved, apparently what we saw in this episode of Carmen was a pledge drive version where they cut out the office sketch and movie the contest to the end of the show
I remember watching the Les Miz 10th Anniversary concert when I was a child. First taste of getting into musicals. Also loved Carmen Sandiego, Wishbone, and Bill Nye. PBS rules!!
Don’t forget Arthur and zoom Anyways pbs kids of the 2000s also had some good programs too such as cyberchase fetch world girl postcards from buster peep and the big wide world etc
PBS Kids in the 90s was way better than both Noggin/Nick Jr, and Playhouse Disney/Disney Jr, You take away Barney and Sesame Street you still had Reading Rainbow, Mister Rogers, Wishbone, Lamb Chop, Bill Nye the Science Guy, Where In The World Is Carmen San Diego, Magic School Bus, Puzzle Place, Arthur premiered in '96.
Hey Ethan, I think I finally narrowed the date down on this video, The Date is: Tuesday August 20, 1996. And in case if you didn't know, that while most PBS member stations (i.e. WNET, WGBH & WQED) continued showing WITWICS? reruns through October 4, 1996. Some PBS member stations (including Vermont ETV & NHPTV in which I get both, I'm from VT by the way) decided to drop it earlier on May 31, 1996, in order to make room for "Kratts' Creatures" and to announce WITWICS?'s successor show WITICS? which would debut on October 7, 1996.
When I started the video and saw the Wishbone closing credits at the beginning I felt like a kid again. Thank you so much. I still have my old Wishbone VHS tapes like the one shown in the pledge drive segment but still wish reruns would come back to PBS because I don't think I've seen every episode of Wishbone there ever was. I used to have a Wishbone plush as a kid too and I think it was just like the one being advertised. I also used to have that exact same Wishbone shirt they advertised. I wish there were Wishbone shirts for 23 year olds. I think I was four years old when this aired so I guess that's why I dont remember pledge drive season. Also thanks for showing the Bill Nye intro. I may have seen that show a couple of times as a kid but probably not every day. Anyway the theme song is iconic.
This feeling i'm getting seeing it again makes me feel i'm living in the 90s again😢
I used to come home from kindergarten in 1996 to watch wish bone! So many memories, I love it forever!🐶
Jilliann Love 1996 i was in pre school
@@mamatemari6061 and Arthur by Marc Brown is halfway of how that turned.

Same Here Kindergarten before promoted to the 1st Grade in 1996.

PBS isn't first in line to air Bill Nye's show as a weekly syndication. You must be upset with how it never gave Ghostwriter a rating.
PBS Kids of the 90's rules Shining Time, Reading Rainbow, Carmen Sandiego, Wishbone, Magic School Bus, Bill Nye The Science Guy

Those shy little preschoolers that teacher talked about are all grown up now!
This might be one of my favorite videos. Growing up on pbs its so soothing
I loved PBS pledge drive when I was little, I don't know why, but I loved it. I remember getting so excited while watching it.
Michael G no lol I just loved it for some unknown reason.
The quality is great for VHS! It must have been recorded in SP mode. Thanks for posting! Sure brings back memories!
My childhood....aaaahhhhhh
17:57 brought a tear in my eye. I was looking for that clip for such a long time!!!! :')
Teacher: alright kindergarteners, it's time for wnet thirteen, so pay attention to the tv screen, but remember, no talking.

Sesame Street, PBS Pledge & Support- circa early 1994
That's Bob from Sesame Street.
Back when pbs had some class.

Don't forget Ghostwriter which Arthur duped for a debut.
A classic.

Do the Wishbone VHS Tapes have the 1993 or 2004 Connecticut Public Television logo and the 2000 HiT Entertainment logo?
+Vaughn Max I'm sorry. I have no idea. I haven't watched my Wishbone tapes in years so I'm not exactly sure which logos they have.
Shana Lewis Can you upload the logo combo of the 2006 HiT Entertainment logo and the 2004 Connecticut Public Television logo?
From the station where Cyberchase was made.

I don't think this is from 1998, because Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego was done by then.
iheartryanstyles Yeah, but it was still in reruns then.
what? how is that even possible? I don't recall Where in the World being in Reruns in 98, all I could see was Where in Time.
iheartryanstyles This is more likely from '95, since the rerun seen here is from the '94 season.
Well, since the Les Miserable concert aired on March 1, 1996 (according to IMDb), I am going to assume that this was recorded around this time.
I wish there was a way to record one tape to another.....then I wouldn't feel so left out
Does anyone remember that PBS pledge spot with Sesame Street (📺 TVs in different settings)? How long was that shown, and was there another version?
I’m guessing this PBS recording is from March 1996?
CHAGRIN AND BEAR IT!
Hopefully someone has the full version of it.
Hello Ethan, I'm Mike, What Happened To Your PBS Stuff From 1994 That You Uploaded? Will You Try To Re-Upload It Again?
It was blocked by PBS.

I don't remember Bill Nye appearing on PBS. I thought basic channels on the weekends but maybe I mixed him up with Beakman.
