- Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the man who started the war, has died. On his death bed he would plead with his council to watch over his son Hideyori, and make the final command to have all his men leave Korea. The Imjin War was done.

Literally every single major daimyo of the Sengoku Jidai (especially in the mid-late Sengoku Jidai) ended up that way by being competent backstabbing assholes. Seriously. I can’t think of anyone who actually became successful by being honorable. Pragmatism, war crimes and politics were standard procedure.
Also, it’s crazy just how many major clans had a massive sudden rise thanks to the guy who took over the clan, before going into an equally sudden downfall or even complete collapse once that guy bit it. The Oda were a minor clan until Nobunaga came along and returned to being a minor clan the moment he died; the Toyotomi didn’t even exist until Hideyoshi came along and fell apart the moment he died; the Takeda were in a bad state due to their failed attempts to expand into Shinano until Harunobu (later Shingen) overthrew his father and actually managed to pull it off, and then got wiped out in the years following his death; the Uesugi were wiping each other out in civil wars until Kenshin got himself adopted into the family and reunified them into being a great clan again, and then fell back into civil war after he died; likewise the Shimazu had also declined massively due to civil war until the Shimazu Brothers came along and rebuilt the clan into the dominant force in Kyushu, only for the Great Unifiers to come along and undo their work; and the Mori came out of basically nowhere under Motonari to take over all of western Japan over his lifetime only to get gradually beaten down once the Unifiers came along.

@@lightdestructions I do have a video on why attacking Pearl Harbor was a mistake for Japan. The invasion of China will have to take place far into the future, I'll need a small team to tackle that subject and right now I can't afford it sadly
