I really appreciate the 2 camera angles for watching how a pot is made, thank you
You are welcome
Love the addition of the overhead camera. Beautiful work
Thank you so much for this clear, easy to understand and see what you are doing!!
You are welcome
p.s. to other viewers - 405 have watched (so far) and only 47 have given a "thumbs up"; Hsin-Chuen Lin is so generous to share his talents with us, the least we could do is hit the blue "thumbs up" icon just below the screen, and ideally make a comment as well - it works to his advantage on his RUclips channel!
Lydia Bosley Thank you! I need a lot of pottery enthusiasts like you🙏
Great. Wonderfully Well demonstrated. Thankyou
Your work is just perfect every single time! Thank you for another lesson!
You are welcome!
Your videos sparked my entirely unexpected fascination with wheel thrown clay and I’m so grateful for that. To my mind your submissions to you tube are the most skillful and generous to those with an interest in wheel thrown ceramics. Thank you.
I've watched this video several times Hsin-Chuen and cant wait until I'm well enough to try one myself
There's quite an art to making this one piece lidded jar.
Thank you for sharing.
This was an amazing video to watch. Thank you! I am just learning how to make enclosed forms and now want to make some into jars that fit together like this. Great instruction.
You are welcome!
Beautiful work as ever. I preferred the look before you chattered the lid, liking the contrast of the textured sides and the smooth top.
You are my teacher and your work always inspires me. Thank you so much.
Thank you for sharing your incredible gift! You are so amazing and talented!
Beautiful with the black slip. I liked it too before the vertical sgraffito.
I love this kind of lidded jar!!
So pleasing to watch. Thank you
I love watching such a talented master crafts person
Thank you for sharing your wisdom and talent. You are a joy to watch, and I have learned to pull walls like you do as I find it easier. Definitely will check out your tools.
Thank you for the recipe in addition to this beautiful lesson. It's such a delight to watch such a master.
Where is the recipe?

beautiful jar❤
Thank you so much in sharing this process with us! I recently was gifted a wheel to start throwing again, and this makes me want to work hard so I can one day make a piece as beautiful as this
So wonderful! I’ve been trying to make some with indents while the clay was still wet but will try this method the next time. Thank you!
Absolutamente Perfecto gracias

Dear Mr. Hsin-Chuen Lin, I truly enjoy your videos. I learn so much. Could you please show your face in your videos. To me, art is also the relationship between the artist and their work. Thank you.
Please watch my video #280, the end of the demo @21’ 30”
Great demonstration, beautiful finished piece! Thank you for sharing your slip recipe, it is much appreciated. Do you plan to put color over the chattering on the top?, or leave it as is? Thanks again!
Bravo
Sir, thank you for sharing your work process. Great to learn from. What do you use for black slip?
👍👍👍🧡
After watching these videos I’ve made about 20 of these. Thank you!! I have a problem though. So often the lids don’t fit and I have to grind them down or just throw them away because it’s too much effort, I can make another faster than using a diamond bit dremel.
Why do my lids keep expanding in the glaze fire? After bisque there’s plenty of room and it seems a perfect fit even if things shrink a bit. I glaze fire with complete confidence I have plenty of give for expansion/contraction and yet my last kiln unloading proved very disappointing. Can you give me any insight?
Thank you! I’ve learned more from you than all my in person pottery teachers combined.
I fire the lid with body.
@@hsinchuen thank you! It never gets stuck? I worry if the expansion or contraction happens then I won’t be able to open it. I’ve been warned about this but haven’t tried. Thanks again!
@@shlembot watch one of my glazing demo on the same covered jar.
I am always amazed and educated by your videos. Could you tell me what clay you use please?
I have told people over and over again in my videos. I mix 2 porcelain. Coleman and Glacia 2:1 ratio.
Why black slip vs underglaze
Slip is clay base and it’s easier to coat on the leather hard stage clay than underglaze.
