  • This is Rachel & Jeff's vaginismus story. They have been battling vaginismus for almost 7 years together and have decided to seek treatment from the Women's Therapy Center. Rachel and Jeff would like the world to know of this condition and wanted to help other women and couples that suffer from vaginismus as well.
March 2015 update: Rachel and Jeff had a baby girl, Eliza. To quote Rachel: "The team at Women's Therapy Center gave me the power to beat vaginismus and it is only because of their skill and dedication that I can introduce our beautiful daughter!
Eliza Bailey was born on Valentine's Day 2015, healthy and perfect."

I appreciate Jeff and Rachel's candid explanation of the pain and challenge of living with this for SIX years. As a fellow sister in Christ, your testimony is so encouraging and has given me hope. Thanks for being willing to be vulnerable and transparent.

Rachel and I have a pretty similar views on saving ourselves for marriage. I didn't know my condition until after my wedding. I can say mine is not painful, it's more of being scared that my brain send signal to my pelvic floor and others muscles surround it to tighten and nothing could possibly get in to it. I'm seeing PT specializing Pelvic floor and she's amazing. I'm kinda get frustrated a bit but I know rushing yourself to see a great outcome would not help my situation at all. I'm just so eager to give myself to my husband. He deserved it and like what Rachel said, I feel that I owe him. He is always there and supportive of me. The therapy seems like forever.

Vaginismus is a psychosomatic condition, so of course your brains sends such a message, and of course the vagina reacts in compliance! Hoping your current treatment gets you to the desired cure. Good Luck!

I have this from severe sexual abuse. I was with a guy for 5 years. Starting at 16. We were engaged. We tried and tried. I just knew that my stepdad had broken me with his abuse. We were engaged but broke it off. He was almost 6 years patient. Later on I was looking through the DSM and I saw the diagnosis and I searched and searched and I could not find any information on it. I just decided that I wouldn't have another relationship with a man because it was unfair to put him through that. So now all these years later I'm still single and it has made me feel like a complete freak. I'm glad young women can get help now. But there's no way I'm putting things inside me like that. I'd rather just die single.

It took my husband and I almost three years of marriage to have sex. I did a lot of research and I finally learned but it's been a tough journey! We also also waited till marriage and that's when I found out that I had vaginismus. /:

I've been dealing with this for a year now of marriage... this is why I don't want to go to my doctor because I feel they are gonna try this surgery. So I'm looking into a treatment center like this. Is there one in texas?
