Why does that mean they are thinking about something sexual when they are older?? I'm a straight female who thought my younger cousins were pretty as babies/kids and I said to their parents wow they will be stunning when they are older (literally, I am average and wish I had the extra genes they got). @@joyin9852 I mean honestly like its not terrible to look at a kid and think "wow that kid is gonna look like a model when they grow up" but when you actually say it is when you cross a line I think, firstly because that tells the child that their appearance is worth more than who they are as a person and also because you're kind of looking at the kid as their potential future and not as a whole person in themselves which they are and they deserve to be respected as a whole person and not have their appearance commented on positively or negatively, unless it's something like a cool shirt that they keep showing off or they painted their own nails or something because then they chose that and you're complimenting their taste not their physical appearance.

Why do people keep saying tattoos, piercings and coloured hair are unprofessional? I have all three and was a nurse manager for a very large international healthcare provider. I never had any negative comments on my appearance from patients, colleagues or families, in fact I had a very good reputation and only gave up my job due to illness in my family x

"Dressing weird isn't normal..." What is normal anyway? I think wearing jeans everywhere is weird but you don't hear me going to every hick in this one-horse town telling them to dress to my preference. Dress as you wish as long as it makes you happy.
This is why I left most online communities, the amount of toxic waste I witnessed being spewed disgusts me. Nothing is safe anymore, you look a certain way and just the floods of judgement, hate and insults just pours on through. Being alternative myself, and have been since early teens, you grow accustomed to the generic insults and judgements from fellow peers but nowadays? It's f*cking vile! People will literally go after you for anything.. like a child, who is an innocent gets dragged through the proverbial mud in order to offend the parent.. or protecting a foul woman dressing up as a S.A.V is absolutely obscene and grotesque! You have all rights to voice your opinion, but sadly with the internet and today's society, people will always hop on the opposition and protect these used condoms.. Callin me devil worshipper a satanist. Had to ask them if they even knew what a satanist actually does etc. which didn’t make the situation any better. Then 1 time at a mall I had a bunch of ignorant black kids ask me are u goth?! That means she’s into devil stuff n she doesn’t believe in god ....... I went to Catholic school my entire life. That McPherson person seems to have a mentality of "being alternative, not professional/no aspirations. They're pretty much implying we shouldn't have any individuality, like some dystopian society. Being alternative is, in my opinion, being comfortable in yourself and not letting people like them bring you down.
"I can be as ugly as I want" is so much more empowering than the whole "we're all beautiful and valid" shit that we keep repeating to others but can't seem to apply to ourselves
Right! And most people AREN'T beautiful. Most people are just alright. And that's absolutely fine and great.
