As a black woman with hair like this, I feel her pain. I got told by one of my coworkers that I looked like I stuck my hair in an electrical socket. There's nothing wrong with black women wearing their natural hair. I never understood why it seems to be an issue in today's society. I use to feel like this about my hair, but not anymore. I love my afro now. What sucks is this really does happen to black women when they wear their natural hair.

I get a lot of compliments about my afro now, especially from other nationalities who like to play with it because it's so big. You've a right to believe afros aren't attractive. Maybe to you they're not, but I know lots of people who'd disagree with you about that. I love my fro!
Half of my childhood I was shamed for having “big puffy hair” or “messy bush” and I always felt insecure until I saw other older girls with the same hair as me looking so happy with it and I finally started looking after my hair with help from my mum and RUclips and it’s made me a happier person knowing that I can feel good in my own hair (I have 4c hair btw)

I'm currently unemployed and looking for work but free from discrimination.

Each one of us came to the world for a unique purpose, so you don't owe anyone an apology for being yourself! At my school that would never happen my principal IS white but it’s not always whites people that are racist she’s actually really sweet and she doesn’t tolerate racism AT ALL. Black people can be racist to so when my two classmates called each other the word, she called them into her office and made them apologize to each other even though they were both black, they both offended and told on each other
As a girl around her age and as someone with thicker hair I needed to hear this because working with thick hair especially hair period can be hard and sometimes you don’t feel beautiful

my best friend's hair is so curly and fluffy and she is the most popular girl in our class if not the entire school, her hair is part of her personality and is 1 of the things that makes her unique out of 1 million others. she gets complimented everyday and she is really proud about not only her hair but everything about herself, and she should be. she deserves everything because I can really open up to her and she gives THE best advice and always encourages me and tells me to have confidence since, I am in my depressed era ever since I can remember but she is a part of my life now and she is family to me, I'm grateful god sent her to me.

Ppl used to make fun of my natural hair- I have wavy/curly ginger hair. It was so bad that i straightened it ever day and i ended up dying it as well... i regret dying it as i loved my natural colour and i only dyed it to stop the constant bullying, please dont change yourself for other peoples benefits, be yourself always💗💗

Idk why kids being this way when get bullied, cuz I stood up for myself and gave them their own medicine and never cared once about what they said throughout my school life. People who bully others know that they should not be doing this , still they do. It's high time to teach our children fight back on every time. At this point I don't even care if its physical fight cause bullying doesn't stop only being verbal
I remember this happening to me, I have curly and straight hair at the same time. They described it as a palm tree and I wish it was straight instead of messy, but I always clean my hair to make it look beautiful.
