  • I can almost guarantee that you’ve seen or heard of people waking up early for a while now. It was quite the trend last year but ya girl just had a newborn and a toddler and was barely sleeping anyways. Now that I have some sort of more structure and sleep schedule with my kids, I figured it was time I try this out for myself and see what all the hype is about. Will waking up before my kids really have that much of an impact on the rest of my day? And if so, is it all positive or are there negative side effects to it as well? Do the pros outweigh the cons? Do I need to wake up at 4am or 5am it is even 30 minutes before my kids beneficial? Come along for the ride of this video and by the end you will discover my final conclusion on the matter.

    Thank you for posting this video! I've just started getting up early, not as early as 5 yet, lol. I'm 7 weeks pregnant, and I get up around 7 to read my devotionals and just spend time with God. What I started doing at night is anointing myself and my belly, praying, and I do my nighttime devotional. It's so inspiring to see another Christian taking time for the Lord early in the morning.     I'm glad you decided to do what's best for you! Get you some rest lol And as a mother of four ages 11, 9, 5, and 18 months I can say that it does get easier as they get older. My youngest is still nursing through the night but it seems like with all of my children when they turned around two years old they started sleeping on their own and for longer and didn't need me anymore. I'm just now finally at a place where I can even think about waking up a five but I still prioritize my sleep when needed. God bless you!

      God bless you mama ❤️ yes, it’s all seasons. Some seasons we should prioritize sleep a lot more, because it’s needed because the demands of motherhood are beautiful but tiring mentally and physically haha. It’s all about knowing where your at and what season your in & listening to our bodies. Everyone is at a different place and I think that’s a beautiful thing about parenthood 🫶🏽

    I'm glad that you're prioritizing your needs, Janae. I find that the body needs to adjust to getting up that early, so take your time. When my son was younger, I definitely made a point of designating time for myself. Love your vlogs!

      Thank you so much ❤️ today, after I fed Esme for her early morning feed I decided to stay up so I got dressed but lo and behold Esme never went back to sleep so 😅 I got about 1 whole minute 😂 mindset was in the right place though and I didn’t get discouraged. I know this is just a season and one day (hopefully LOL) Esme will sleep in a bit later alongside her sister and I can make a little consistent morning routine (alone) for myself but for now, I take it one day at a time, try to have a positive attitude and just leave it to God 🤗

    I feel like I would really love to do this, but right now, I have 2 under 2, so I am giving myself grace and getting sleep where I can 😂 both my littles still nurse so I am up multiple times at night. But I hope to be able to do this once my youngest is at least sleeping through the night.

      Oh yes girl, get as much sleep as you can. that stage is lovely but also tiresome and with both of them nursing throughout the night 😅 you go mama 🫶🏽❤️ the right time for you will come 😌 no rush

    Remember to keep your head covered in every prayer so the Lord can hear you Janae!! Something a lot of us biblical women use to overlook❤️❤️🙌🏻

    I personally don’t think waking up super early is for moms who are up at night feeding and such, its a grace period for women to get sleep whenever possible, i don’t think we need to exhaust our body even more than it already is. I wont even try this until my babies off breasts and sleep through the night. Im the kinda person that if i don’t get enough sleep i wont be a good mom but i can do okay without personal time. 😊♥️

      I love that. Yes. I honestly think it’s all personal and situational. If I was still cosleeping with Esme and/or feeding her all through the night no way 😅 when my oldest Sage, was a few months old, even though we coslept AND she would be up for hours in the night, most nights, I remember there was a phase of time of a couple of weeks where I got up around 5 something am and worked out and felt SO good and glad I did it and I was barely sleeping.. But it only lasted a few weeks. Then, there are times like currently where I’m sleeping SO much more than I was at that point in time, but the thought of getting out the bed at 6am is often such a struggle so If the girls are still in bed, so am I 😂 and I’m ok with that. I also think the seasons, I know for me anyways, impact how I feel. Like it’s SO much easier for me to wake up and get out of bed early in the summer vs winter. I agree, we don’t need to place extra stress upon ourselves. grace upon grace for ourselves 🤗 🫶🏽

    I too prefer spending time with God at night; usually right after I put the kids to bed. In this season, it works well for me.

    It never worked for me. As soon as my kids figured out I was getting up early, they did too, just like yours. And if I tried to stay up much later than them, they would stay up. It was like they felt they were missing something.

    I wish I can wake up at 5 o’clock but unfortunately I cannot because I always end up sleeping late around 10 or nine and then I have a kid that I take to school in the morning and have a baby that’s one year and a half but I really truly wanna get a better sleep in a better nighttime routine

      Aw don’t be too hard on yourself. If you do really want to get a bit of a better routine and sleep though, I really believe it starts with the day before, with your evening. Maybe try writing out what an “ideal” nighttime routine would look like. Then after that, make it fit into your life now. For example, maybe it’s as simple as after you put the kids to bed, taking a shower, drinking a cup up tea and reading a book for a few minutes. Or it’s change into pjs, get a snack and watch tv until it’s “bedtime” so cut it off at a certain time. Or maybe it’s simply saying “I’m going to start making it a habit to get in bed by this time every night” and setting your phone alarm for 5 minutes prior. Do what works for you so it’s not overwhelming or unrealistic. ❤️

    Thanks for sharing Janae! ❤ My daughter is 18 almost 19 months and off the breast. She doesn’t wake up until about 6-6:15 so I think I will try this out and see how it works for me.
