there was a 1+ on the stego Icon after killing the scorpion, can it possibly be used to add levels to babys? also absolutely, these things look like so much fun to use, I'm actually about to go try them out myself

Ascetically, this is one the best looking creatures. I think it’s beautiful, and I’m glad that it seems useful. This was always one of my top favorites from the original votes. It’s still a shame it didn’t come out with the new map, but it’s still a very good creature.

Lowkey the most unique taming method in my opinion so far.
FYI QoL+ mod is so broken, that you are better of with Cybers Structures as it has more in it and fewer bugs. It is also the only mod where the propagator works perfectly

Hey veno when you were riding the gigaraptor with the stego on the basket after you killed the scorpion that was marked at the top of the screen it mentioned that the bond between the stego and raptor had grew
And it was saying baby stego wishes to hunt a nearby dino, which is probably why that scorp was marked by a red skull
I think you need to put the feather into a breeding dino that has the higher HP, it will then give the baby 58% of getting the HP stat.
Honestly i think the mod style works really well. It allows them to never need to replace the creatures voted and just de-mod them later.
Edit: oh my. I know we are all still quite in the dirt but that taming method is so unique and brilliant!
It will be added to the base game eventually but for now as a mod is probably best since it wont be always available on the island
@Veno the quality of the model and animations both excites and saddens me.
It makes me really excited to see more new dinos because they'll all be this insane quality.
But it also makes the point that eventually every ASE dino needs a model and animation TLC as a baseline. Even dinos who already had TLCs in ASE aren't up to par anymore.
Just another thing on the list of things to be done i guess.
It makes science to remove from modern lost after center is released
These abilities are marvelous!
- pluckable feathers that raise chances of getting a better stat
- calls to locate babies
- calls to switch imprint requests
- carrying wild babies
- etc
Ah!
Something to note: you can only change the imprint once per baby. So if you get unlucky and get the same thing it was asking for before (or something more expensive) as your re-roll, that’s it. Kinda annoying, but it does unfortunately make sense.
The feathers are nice for combining stats. Not as much for mutating since you’d need so many raptors it wouldn’t be worth it at that point. Given stat combining is my least favorite part of Ark by a landslide, the attempt to make it better is at least appreciated (although the default chance to inherit the better stat is 55% so your 58% was a total increase of 3% lol).
Overall I’m conflicted. The feathers are really nice, but getting rid of the cryo reroll feature just to add a worse version to this guy… that stings. That really, really stings. I wasn’t an exploiter before, but now that I know all the good ones are going to be removed then made worse… yeah, I feel less bad about abusing them now. Leave those things in wildcard, any good game developers know to not mess with beloved bugs (and excellent ones like ReLogic know to make them features).

On Raas's video he figured out that the feather goes in the parent's inventory when laying eggs/giving birth. Also some of the mechanics around the baskets. It being added as a mod is giving me head scratches though. It may be them 1st partying creatures from other servers on the island when they launch other maps? As per usual more questions than answers from Wildcard (sigh).

Apparently you put the feather in the inventory of a breeding female and she will consume it just before laying an egg.
It's such a cool taming mechanic... but at the same time, it's kinda messed up when you think about it, you're kidnapping babies while the mom looks away. Stranger danger. I was hoping the mother would get tamed as well, since the baby "vouches" for you.
i think you drop the feathe rin the inventory of the breeding dino, or you can feed it to the dino when breading is aktive just some idea not testet it, also i mean build a trap near by and then you can tame without a hussel maybe ;)
It's actually very pretty, though I think them putting it on as a mode was a clever move, to allow access to it so people can learn more about it while it's home map is being worked on, a bit of a slight of hand if you will
Looks like during the video the stego wanted to hunt something nearby so theres messages on the top screen you have to pay attention too. i missed most of them but gonna see on the replay
You put the feather in the breeding female's inventory when they mate so it will be consumed and the chance of health/weight /attack is passed onto the baby. Have not seen if it can do the same with the breeding male so I thought female inventory was the logical choice.

The way I did this off spawn was just have two of my mates take aggro and I play dance dance revolution with the baby.
Hopefully this is fully dropped as on official dino when center is out🤞

This creature looks really well made. The ark community has been so negative lately, hopefully if the new additions keep up with this level of quality people will start getting hyped again

baby giga is too big and baby raptor r too high lvl thats why u couldnt pick em up...there r still lot of things abt it u need to know yet , Raas already found most of it...watch his video ig

I’m on ps5 and since the new update 2 or 3 days ago every time I try to load my singleplayer save I just crash after putting in almost 200 hours does anyone else have this or knows how to fix this ?? Please let me know 🙏
I sadly had this happen to me on my single player save and if you are using mods it could be one of your mods that’s causing the crash so you may need to go through all your mods to see if you were like me and using no mods then unfortunately like my save data was corrupted and I had to delete and start over
The prehistoric creatures mod was causing mine to constantly crash.

When you killed the Scorpion it said "Stego bong with Giga has increased" at the top of the screen. I wonder what it does stats wise.

From what I remember the gigantoraptor was said to get a family buff with creatures it helps raise, so you could probably bring a gigantoraptor to a boss fight to strengthen the group of army Dinos you have.
Everytime I drop an egg, it’ll not even notice it and when I try to drop closer, and agros to me, am I doin something wrong?
Edit: nevermind, finally got it working but I used a argy egg and you do not get nearly enough time
So it doesn’t feed babies or it does??

The feather need to be placed inside the mother of creature you want to breed.
It's been a month, I played ark for the first time since crashed immediately after a menu transition, f this shit.
4070 with an i9, sadness and loss feelings, ark is my love and it hurts to know that it is dead

It wont be a mod forever, they did it this way to make sure they go fix any bugs with the creature and also it will be in the base game most likely im thinking around the time we get its home map may that be the center or ragnarok as it was meant to be for

Im 100% certain they have to be fert eggs, giga eggs probably the best for sure but haven't tested with others.
Nah you can use other eggs I used Rex’s
Easy method is to trap the mom close to the nest. It works.
Can you trap the mother to make it easier
It’s easier to trap the mom about 50m away from the nest.

hi, does the imprint refresh also refreshes what the rhyno needs while my dino has it in it?
I have not tested that but reading it only seems to effect baby imprint so i would say no

I don't understand why they would release a new dino as a mod, just like with events, I have a bad feeling about that.
Its so they can apply fixes easier to the dino and then eventually it will be in the base game most likely when its home map drops, no point coding it into the island just to remove it down the line

what rates do you use to get 100% imprint in one go?
its an ini setting i had to add into the game to set imprint amount to max, i dont remember it off the top of my head but a quick google search can find it

@readbruh Not even a game changer, does not feed your dinos, does not give extra imprint, feathers only work for early game creatures, changing imprint is the same as if you had everything for imprints on a fridge, and can only carry 2 dinos for imprint also doesn't feed dinos on its saddle.
