I went from a size 8 to a size 10, from working from home, and went on a job interview with dress pants that were very form fitting. I wore a long blouse that covered everything with a respectable waist length dress jacket... AND I got the job! There is a certain amount of decorum that is necessary for every occasion. She knew what she looked like before she left home!

it is appropriate for everyday life depend on where you wor and what you are doing. you have to be careful when talking about appropriate, costco is the place for modest non tight apparel because staff can easily sue for sexual harassment. woring at a bar, club it might be different and you cannot see a woman on the street and determine where she is going so you have to be careful how you judge people. this costco situation, school, church, government buildings, certain eatery have dresscode policy one should abide by full stop.

Never worked at Costco, but I used to be a supervisor at call center. Leggings, Jeggings, spandex all the comfortable form fitting pants were absolutely not allowed slacks, skirts over the knee, all dresses over the knee. I had to write someone up at least once a week. It’s work not the club.

My sister works in a corporate setting, a bank branch. And she's always complaining about younger women and men coming to work in inappropriate dress attire. There is a dress code and they keep pushing the envelope . Back in the day you would be sent home and get docked a day's pay, written up. If you wanted to be hard headed you got fired. People today feel entitled to do whatever they want and not have consequences. If she is sent home and docked you'll show fast she'll find those khakis.
There is no accountability for breaking the rules at work these days because people are so full of vanity. They want you to see there figure and everyone don't care to see it. Save it until you get home and relax the way you need.

Everyday I work, the white women at my job wear see through, tight, thong panties under their uniforms trying to snag doctors. Pants are so tight sometimes that you can see every cellulite ripple in their too tight jogger scrubs. It's unprofessional, but nothing is said. It's displaying, but nothing is said. People around you are sick and dying but they have boobs and butts in their faces, but nothing is said.

At my job the company gave a three day seminar on business casual wear. A lot of the people they hired came to work in "club wear" " athletic wear" thinking that this was business casual wear. When the CEO brought his little son to work. He was embarrassed that some of the employees had low cut blouses with breast on display, cheeks clapping and thighs exposed in high slit skirts on the elevator with them. This was the main head quarter with a lot of foreign business and diplomats coming for meetings..
She got the uniform requirements. She interpreted them to her satisfaction. And she got called into the office. If you don’t want to comply, don’t take the job. Let somebody else take the job.

I've worked on health-care for 20 yrs and it just amazes how tight the scrubs have gotten over the years. They have all these designer scrubs now with jogger style pants and can be really cute. But, I personally know a few ladies that get their scrub tops altered to ensure they hang just above their butt and then the bottoms are skin tight. And now, with body positivity in full effect, it's not just the smaller women with nice shapes that wear skin tight scrubs. I will never understand how that's comfortable. And lab coats are not standard anymore... stopped wearing mine years ago myself.

Costco does this. She knows better and was aware of the proper dress code policy. Everything is said and is reiterated to her in orientation. She felt embarrassed therefore she may have felt the need to embarrass the Company on Social media. She is Beautiful young lady but I'm sure she was not body shamed. Costco gives verbal warnings first, that gives the employee a chance to correct their actions before given a counsel notice on paperwork.

I was actually agreeing with you. I myself work at Costco and we do show visuals and sample of appropriate and inappropriate ways of dressing, and the new hires actually sign paperwork agreeing to the terms and policies that Costco require.
Nah that was a jealous coworker guaranteed. She wore the dress code, she just prefers her clothes tight. Not my style but whatever. I’ve gone into Costco and seen young girls in belly skin tops and tight pants but they weren’t as blessed, so it’s ok for them. I don’t have a problem with being told to wear baggy clothes but everyone will need to get the same directive.

The last job I worked was at a warehouse and believe me almost every other day the managers had to tell staff about the dress code. No leggings, No jeans with holes, no spandex, no shorts. I'm pretty sure they were talking about leggings, spandex and if someone can see the print of under garments. It does not have to literally say "form fitting". Those examples I mentioned are in the category of "form fitting". She is in violation and if she sued she would not win.

In my days of office work folks were saying behind my back, my pants were too tight for my big behind. I use to wear coulotte skirts & I heard them saying they look like shorts. It’s not just a couple sizes up. It’s also the type of fabric that you’re buying the closing. Those pants that she’s wearing let’s say they’re a size medium, if she were to go and buy them in a large, they would still be clinging to her skin. If she were to get them an extra large, they were just like baggy around her waist, and they would still be clinging to her legs and thighs. That type of fabric is the issue. That’s why it’s not considered to be a professional or casual Type of fabric. It’s for athletic wear and body-con dresses.

I work in nursing care. My scrub shirt is huge, I buy larges and I am petite but I do wear leggings. However I wear baggy shirts. I don’t feel like my leggings are innapropriate and honestly if someone told me not to wear them I’d get mad. However I wear a very oversized shirt to cover up. I like leggings however because they are the only pants I can easily find that fit me properly. My waist is too small with too big of a butt to easily find regular pants.
As long as she's in that uniform, name tag and on the clock, she's representing Cosco...And Cosco have the right to say how they want to be represented. It's that simple.

Now, outside of work... that's a different story. 😆 Her clothes are too tight for ANY body type. No one should be able to see the curve of your vajayjay.
On the other hand, I am a gym woman. I am fully aware of my shape. I wear leggings and T-shirts. NOT just a matching legging & sports bra fit. NOT micro-shorts & a string tank top. I'm there to work out. I can't stop men (or anyone else) from lookin at me. But they can DEFINITELY tell I'm there to train, NOT to thirst trap. That's the reason I go at 03:30 in the morning... less eyes.

Thank u so much for addressing this Shuler. It is out of control. At my job i cant wear my jeans with holes in them. Cant wear my basketball jerseys. The policy says it is not professional. Against company rukes. I have tried in the past and they sent me home. And im a dude. I knew i was in the wrong. I was testing the waters. But i ddnt go to social media. I have seen many women at my job be asked to change or get sent home. Not all young Either. And not by only older women managers. I work with a vast group of mangers of all ages and races. If a person is wearing clothes too revealing they are askes to change or fix it or go home. I have seen young female managers send women in their 30s and 40s home cuase the women employee was exposing alot of skin. It is against the rules of the comapny. If you do not agree start your own company and u can wear what ever u want. I live in AZ. It is hot af. I tried to see if I could wear what i wanted on a wekend tht harly any management was at wrk. But they was not havin it and i ddnt trip. Cause i was in the wrong. Ppl need to take accountability. This is not a race thing. Not a gender or age thing. Its a professional vs non professional issue. This woman is not a victim.
I’ve been through this also. I know how to dress for my body now though. Women like her set the bar in hell for women who actually put forth an effort to look professional.

I'm a thick hourglass like her, and yes it's hard to keep my figure from showing. But I don't wear anything skin tight and I wear jackets and open blouses over a top to keep covered. I try to keep my big caboose discreet.
I have a manager who's favorite thing is to check it out all the time. Even when wearing baggy pants, so some attention is unavoidable. But you do the best you can and move on.

She is upset because she thought she looked good and could get away with it and somebody called her on it and shut it down! Good for them! I went to the gym with my son and people thought I was his girlfriend and where looking at me in amazement and kept complementing me. But it was because I was the only women in there dressed appropriately and not seeking attention. You can still be beautiful without doing all of that. In fact, people find you more beautiful that way. The other attention brings the wrong problems that you will complain about yet brought it on yourself! Change the game ladies!
