- Thanksgiving Day, I jumped on my 2019 BMW R 1250 GS Adventure and met up with my good buddy Mohammad on his 2018 Triumph Tiger 1200. Some SMACKDOWNS occurred on the filthy, chilly streets of Cleveland!

Freakin awesome man. Me on my 1199 panigale and my friend on his fz07. Just rode in 35° weather in Atlanta Georgia. So I can only imagine what our wind chill was being around 80+ mph. Not all sportbike get stuck in the winter. I ride year round literally.

Love these ADV bikes. The BMW is so sweet. The Triumph with it’s electric windscreen and heated seats spanked BMW in that Dept. Never understood BMW’s hesitation here. ADV is the way to travel my friends. So comfortable and unique in it’s look unlike everybody else’s rides. Life’s short, just buy the bike. Mohammed is taking some clean lines through there. The Akrypovic exhaust and Denali Sound Bomb sound phenomenal. Now we need a KTM 1290 Super Duke R in the bunch. 😜. Ib you need side panniers for that balanced look.

It appears that you were riding in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park (the speed limit on Riverview Road is 35 mph), on State Road in Cuyahoga Falls, then on Route 8 North, and not in "filthy Cleveland." I ride these roads frequently on my R1200GS, living only about 6 miles from the park, but not at 90+ mph. The day after Thanksgiving was actually rather nice, with temperatures upward of 60 degrees. I would caution you that the village of Peninsula generates most of its revenue by issuing speeding ticket to drivers and riders along Riverview and Akron-Peninsula road for going 45 mph. Since the local gendarmes have nothing better to do, they're pretty assiduous in these endeavors. I just hope they don't mistake my GS for yours!

Love you your videos man! Please consider doing an in depth review on the Brentuning ECU flash for your GS. The 1250cc BMW community would really appreciate something like that. Brentuning's details regarding the tune are really vague.

Had two tigers over the years currently 2019 xca 1200 thing I love about them you can ride them hard if you feel the need too, used to ride sports bikes the tiger can take the hard cornering stable & fun to ride would recommend!!

650ib Nice Video! This 1250 GS Adventure with gold wheels look amazing in person, I love it! But I'm like 5' 6" I'll have a hard time at the lights all the time. That's why I wish Honda would bring the X-ADV 750 to the U S, so I can use it as My Adventure bike.

i have a tiger 1200 xcx 2019 with 6 000 km on it . The problems are uncountable , the experienced is a total dissapointment . ive owned a benelli 500 and it was more trust worthy than the tiger . oil leaks , gear problems , stabillity handlebar issues , suspension issues , its so frustrating and im looking forward to replace it
Man, I have a 2019 GS and was looking at the new 1200 tigers....found this video and gave it a go, hell, I am down by Cbus! lol unsure if the trusty GS will go by the wayside for a tiger, but i do love the ease of all the settings and stuff, people always say the Germans over-engineer, and damn they are right...lol anyway, unjoyed the video and subscribed...

So in your own a pinion which is the best bike out of those 3. First a zx12r 2003 year or a 2006 zx10r or a 2003 1300 GSXR? I do like corners but mostly longer rides. Thx

SO excited to see you morph into the ADV Bike scene. I come from a sporting bike background (still want an H2 as well to go with my SDR and GS/A) and can't wait to see the antics to come. You really still can have fun without going deep in the triple digit speeds, as you proved today. What’s a ‘thanksgiving holiday’? Maybe a tip for your next motorbike review: show the bikes in detail, do some roadside shoots. and dont do the entire review while sitting on the bike. And...what’s your conclusions; these are both great adventure touring bikes, would have loved to see a nice comparison.
I love the sound of the Triumph triple... I've got a 2004 Tiger that I ride when the weather is not Multistrada compatible (I don't mind the tiger getting dirty, the Multi stays shiny all the time so hours of cleaning are required if I ride it in bad weather or on dirt)... my Tiger has 65k miles and has been completely bulletproof for the over 10 years I've owned it (bought it used with 18k on the odo).
Even so... when I'm in Germany (couple times a year) I rent GS's to bomb around on... they're good at everything and sedate enough that they don't lure me into bad behavior like the Duc does... and while there are many things about the Tiger I like, the GS is just a bit better as a 'good behavior touring' ride than the Tiger.
I never understood the interest in heated seats... all Ducati's have heated seats built in - it's called the rear cylinder. ;-)
I have '19 R1250GSA HP identical to yours. I spent a week in Turkey on a new '20 Tiger 1200. Loved the "voice of the motor" on the Tiger, but knew my GSA was quicker/faster.
Tiger's cruise could only be set at max of 161 kph (100 mph).
Is the speed in kmph or mph
How much HP does it make with the ECU flash and what difference did that make to the top speed if any?

Considering a tiger 1200, went to test ride the GS locally and was basically ignored by the salesman after being asked if I Knew how much it cost...smh people....
Please try a different BMW dealership. The R 1250 GS Adventure is such an amazing bike, if liken for you to experience it 💪✔️

I'd love to get a modern adv bike but my god are they expensive, even 3 or 4 year old leftover models are mid to high teens still at most dealerships. I also don't want the nightmare of picking up a 5+ year old Ducati multistrada and dealing with every electronic failure in the book lol, the only affordable adv bikes are older Tiger 800's and KTM bikes.

You should try out the KTM Super Duke GT sometime.
I think you’d love the engine on it, with all of the sport touring amenities that you don’t get in an SDR.
Doesn’t have the off road capabilities of the GS (SA for that but since you already have a GS would be redundant).
I demo rode an R1250R, right behind the leader. We did a 45 to 105 pull, WOT and bounced it off the rev limiter in 2nd and 3rd.
It is a nice engine and pulls hard, but compared to the KTM 1290 engine it doesn’t have the same feeling of insane pull/acceleration.
The huge torque coupled with really good HP (not super bike levels but up there and much higher than the BMW boxer) make it a wild ride.

IMO, it’s the best option currently on the market for someone wanting a sports tourer that leans heavily towards the sport side of the equation. Although the XR and RS or RT are great bikes also.
One hint on the power delivery. It doesn’t like to be lugged. Prefers mid 4K to 5k rpms when cruising. When riding aggressively or getting ready to make a hard pull starting in a gear that is at 5k rpm or higher is best.
From there on up to redline the pull of the engine when whacking the throttle puts a big old grin on my face every time.
I would love to know the result of a drag race rolling start at 40kph top gear up to about 160kph. Also does the BMW have the boxer shake meaning low engine speed large throttle opening making the bike shake due to apposed pistons pulsing shaking the bike.
Pistons on the GS boxer pulse at the same time, they dont pulse on the opposite sides so theres no shake
@@djoleizfontane Thanks for your reply, I have experienced the boxer shake on many boxers and unfortunately not ridden the 1250, many people claim it doesn't have the typical boxer shake which I find hard to believe.

The ford tug war wasnt the right f150 to test it against the cyber truck for one thing price isnt same cyber truck is highly equipped and that a low grade model ford......ford challenge tesla cyber truck again but this time itll be equal price range and I'm sure itll be a diesel ....with hight torque ......cant wait to see a electric motor haul ass lol .....
