    I first saw Joel on Golden Era bookworm and was astouhded at his resemblance to Arnold. As for his Physique I think he looks better than any of the classic Physique competitors today as he has a natural look,😅 which is way more pleasing to the eye. This guy truly lives the healthy body-building lifestyle with diet training and even sun which everyone is so afraid of these days. He is a better ambassador to body-building than the current Mr Olympia as he looks like a normal dude and not some puffed up guy on gear. The man looks healthy and is handsome which makes his a great example of what anyone can look like if they took up body-building and treated it seriously.

      Completely agree and it's guys like Joel that should be the examples this industry rewards with eyeballs and accolades. Even the cynics would be hard pressed to refuse a sustainable healthy glowing physique like Kellet's or say, Steve Reeves Well said mate.

    Well done again, Shawn, I really enjoyed this vid and will duly check out Joel’s doco!
    Btw, the “Breaking Olympia” doco was really good, thanks for the tip!

    Truly inspiring physiques. The posing is in it self a tribute to the ideals of physical culture. To replicate and honor Arnold and Chet Yorton poses is a tribute to the history of bodybuilding. Just feels wholesome and sincere.

    The classic division was first introduced in 2007 I believe by the ukbff the uk division on ifbb I remember them saying it was to allow natural bodybuilders to compete within the ifbb as it was growing in popularity hence the height to weight ratio cut off limit. I was disappointed when i was at these uk shows to see that most of the competitors did not have a classic physique ie a steve reeves frank zane style physique

    • @carvedouttastone
      @carvedouttastone  6 месяцев назад +3

      I remember when I wanted to compete in classic physique here in Australia and the weight cap was 67kg for.my height. I already had to diet down from 90kg so this was mission impossible. I barely scraped in the 70kg lightweight division, but I hate that starved down look - totally non classic

      @carvedouttastone I agree not a good look the really emaciated look some natural shows promote and i felt the weight limits in classic promoted this look. The channel is great loving the content.

    Aye, crabs in a bucket syndrome. Most people don't understand what a steroid abused physique looks like and what the hallmarks are. Wasn't even aware of this docu, thanks for introducing me to it.

      Crab bucket syndrome is what we down under called Tall Poppy Syndrome - an unfortunate national preoccupation with tearing down anyone displaying any kind of talent so that no one ever feels like rising above the morass of mediocrity - football players being the only exemption to this rule

    Fella, trust me - you’re a gifted writer. Listening to your narrative is like seeing a painting by Norman Rockwell or Maxwell Parish, as they seduce and delight you with sparkle, tone, detail, humour, calm, emotion and mastery of their medium. I respectfully mention that I believe you detract from your essence by having wingeing c-nts riding your channel and pissing in your purity. Delete this comment if necessary, but I do see your humanity in dealing with with all.

      Thank you for the high praise, it means a lot. Maybe, as alluded to in the vid, the fitness industry niche is so saturated with crap content that mine sounds different.by contrast?
      Either way, it's not finding an audience and my channel continues its journey down the tubes. It's disheartening to see some of these truly $hithouse garbage Bodybuilding commentary channels continue to blow up with their AI generated voiceovers, Wikipedia cut and paste scripts and lazily stitched together interview compilations.
      I'll give this a few more months but it's disheartening to see every new video released become my NEW worst video in regards to views.
      On top of that, 'm losing $$$ doing this which doesn't make it a good investment of time/money.
      Sorry for the rant, but I obviously don't understand this content creation game and to hear the huge praise contrasted against the continually diminishing views is resulting in some cognitive dissonance on my part

      @@carvedouttastone- I hear you. Perhaps you are too real, too truthful. Shitartists get loadsa views because they pander and suck the lowest common denominators. This is the cross of the gifted, the honest. Maybe gently sup at the foreskin, while keeping an eye on your forte - laser sharp commentary on the various truths. Slip it all in to the masses and the tube, like a “spoon full of sugar” (Mary Poppins). Finally tune your delivery to be more you and less sugar. There is no way God’s Earth, that your writing, narration, thumbnails, subject matter, should be allowed to spin down the pan in a Vortex to oblivion.

    Enjoyed this. Made me think of what is the point? One answer to this is health, longevity, living well to the end. This seems to be generating a trend. You could argue that CrossFit is part of it, especially the Glassman version that as far as I know is more about the medical rather than the competitive. Also we have the hybrid athlete thing which seems to be more about all round fitness. I don’t know exactly how you could examine this field. I had a few exchanges with Jamie Lewis on the matter. Then he had little time for talk about longevity, the need for cardio, the idea that you could be too big, that the visual is not really the point. From what I can make of him, as age creeps in, he seems to be a little more responsive to such a mindset. And of course, he seems to be advocating the natty approach nowadays. However, maybe a better fit would be some old person in good shape.
    For me the natural aspect is more than drugs. It is about lifestyle. Not much of our society seems natural. Most of us are trapped in rhythms we don’t particularly want to Ollie, but maybe our training can compensate for this to some extent. Maybe something you could think about.

    • @carvedouttastone
      @carvedouttastone  5 месяцев назад

      Jamie seems to have done a 180 on a lot of previous talking points. I was shocked on today's show to hear him talk about how much he loves running! Longevity would be a bonus, but for me it's looking and feeling great every day. One might come at the expense of the other, but I'm not sacrificing anything for a few extra years in a nursing home watching my friends and family die off around me. It's the quality of the years as opposed to the quantity and I'm fine with the trade-off.
