I met a muslim woman who was a qualified medical doctor but her husband wouldn't allow her to practice. He took a girlfriend and wanted to make her his 2nd wife....his wife objected so he and the community incl her own male relatives threatened to kill her if she didn't agree and in fact she was beaten until she agreed. She told me out of her own mouth....she was desperately unhappy but didn't want to leave as she would lose her children. Women in Islam only have as much say as their husband allows

My Dad worked for a freight Company where his Boss came from Africa and he was a tribal chief which allow him privilege in Islam to have more than four wives. The version of Islam he practiced was closer to the version Prophet Muhammed practiced. He would have tax collectors take the extra money from the tribe and used it to his heart’s desire and it must had been a good gig because he always had extra money and every couple of years he would get a new girlfriend or mistresses or even a new wife.

Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) further related that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “By Allah, Allah will bring it forth on the Day of Judgment, and it will have two eyes with which it will see and a tongue with which it will speak, and it will testify in favor of those who touched it in sincerity.” (At-Tirmidhi, Sunan)

Ibn `Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) quoted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as saying: “Touching them both (the Black Stone and Ar-Rukn Al-Yamani) is an expiation for one’s sins.” (At-Tirmidhi, Sunan, hadith no. 959. This hadith is classified as hasan by At-Tirmidhi and as Sahih by Al-Hakim (1/664), and Adh-Dhahabi agreed with him.)
