Definitely spot on, and it has to be tight to make the rhythm work on this song. Not the types of riffs you can "half ass" play in time.

As a nearly lifelong fan of Metallica who remembers when my parents bought me my first Sony Walkman (when those things were new-ish in the mid 80's) and the first tape I got my mother to buy along with it was Master of Puppets, I can honestly say I never thought I'd enjoy those songs more than what I remember hearing them for the first time in my very own headphones. But somehow you guys have made this song even better than I've ever even heard those guys play it, even live the few times I've gotten to see them in person! I've played percussion almost two thirds of my life and all of you put me to shame so I hate you for it, but also love you and the music you're all making so keep it up! Wubba lubba dub dub, keep on rockin on!

Just Growling doesnt make it heavier. The musical aspect is no heavier than the original.
@@eternalrest2859 Yes it does.. Leo sang it in baritone voice so it was heavier than James's version in tenor. Also the drum fills also has more pronounced deep heavy tone compared to Lars light snare tone in the original song.

My dad played Metallica through Bose headphones on my mom's stomach when she was pregnant with me so I have been a fan since before I was born. And I have to say, this is the greatest Metallica cover I have ever heard. Thank you for making not just this great cover, but all of them 🙏

Darksaga 666 actually, Mike Portnoy himself has said that Lars has been always one of the best drummers to him. idk why there's so much hate for Lars on the internet. The fact that there's actually much better drummers around the world (tecnically speaking), it's not a reason to pick on the leader and main founder of such a great band as Metallica just because imo
@@MrFerGrunge1 If he actually Said that, which i highly doubt, it was guaranteed meant out of respect to be nice. Lars was a decent drummer in his day, horrible for a while and now he is pretty decent again. But excellent? Never! But not bad either, he has been good enough for Metallica and fit the job.

Battery is definitely in my top 10 Metallica songs. Now in my top 10 Leo covers. There are many times where I hate the original, but love leo's version. This version does the original justice, and I friggin love both versions now.

Btw, I saw StaticX with Powerman 5000 back in '04 ...one of the best live shows I've ever seen (Including Pantera Cowboys from hell in 1990 and Sevendust/Coal Chamber in '01)
