When I wasn.t going to school during my first 3 years of living in Baltimore- before my birth mom Lois became ill with cancer in late 83 until her death May 6 1984-I would watch The Doctors later Search For Tommorrow when NBC picked it up from CBS before it was canceled then Days Of Our Lives then Another World & then Texas(NBC.s version of Daytime Dallas sort of)These were soaps Mom would watch mostly everyday until she died.
The original Days Of Our Lives closing for it.s first 17 years from 1965-1982.Before the closing themes were updated in late 82 early 83 & 10 to 11 years later in 1993!!

They never should have messed around with this classic closing music. I still watch the show after 30 years but the new opening and closing is huge disappointment compared to this classic sound
We have clear beautiful stereo version or every soap theme on the planet, why not this one?? they re-recorded the theme in 1993... WHY? Did they not have a full stereo master of this one? and whky hasn't it ever been released?
@@stefffie78 - when the cast credits are rolling, it shows Lauren Koslow as Kate, she didn't start playing Kate til 1996 when she replaced actress Deborah Adair.
This is a recreation, but in actuality, the production company lost the film of the hourglass in the late 70s, so for a few years, they had to use this hourglass for the daily end credits. They found it in the early 80s and the end credits were then done over the regular hourglass again.

They barely have an opening now, and the closing is like a jungle theme that cuts out after the head writer's name appears.
This is NOT the 80s ending theme, nice try. Josh Taylor played Kris Kosichek, and Wayne Northrup(the REAL Roman Brady) played Roman, during the 80's.
