As a Dutch, I root for Van der Poel, but I hope Van Aert wins Flanders too some day. He deserves it. He, Van der Poel and Pogacar are awesome cyclists to watch.

It's a new generation and a fun generation, cycling is about racing again and not just following but attacking. I think Remko Evenepoel and Pidcock also belong to the group with a simular mindset.

Van Aert is about as Dutch if not more than van der Poel. Both van Aert's parents are Dutch with van der Poel only his dad being Dutch, with his mother being French the daughter of legendary Poulidor. Both are born in Flanders and live there as well. Both speak with a flemish accent. Only van der Poel opted to represent the Netherlands. Which van Aert could've done as well.
I'm a huge MvdP fan as well. Van Aert is an extremely talented and quite sympathetic rider though as well. Flemish and Dutch is in my eyes not that far apart anyway. The wallonians are way more similar to the French than they're to their fellow Belgian Flemish.

A bit of inattention by Julian? The reason Julian crashed was primarily because Wout crawled really to the back of the motorbike, and only steared around it at the very last moment. With Julian's height, and riding behind two way taller riders, Wout made it practically impossible for him to anticipate this situation.
