"DreamBound: a Kirby RPG Prequel" is a pixel art fan game based on the untold tales which happened before Kirby's Dream Land.
You'll follow little Dedede and his friends on their journey to stop Dark Matter with the Dream power of the Star Rod! Its battle system is a mix between Mother 3 and Paper Mario.
This is actually just an animation, not a real game, but if you've been fooled by watching it, well, I'm glad the illusion worked!

[Demo 4] : Mt. Dee
The team is near Dream Land and finds on their way funny people called Dees! These poor creatures are at war because of the March Dees' clan, led by General Dee who wants to rule the whole planet by force.
His brother, Great Dee, flees the fights with his Waddle Dees to seek peace. He rescued the team by hiding them in Mount Dee, but are they really safe in this place?

I really like how Lilili's moveset references obscure powers Dedede used in the spin-offs.

It's possible that by the end of this "game" Lilili sacrifices herself to save Dedede and since then, he refused to use the same magic powers his sister has. Although he is very much capable of performing the same magic feats as his late sister, he refuses to use them because it brings back bad memories of her sacrifice and instead relies on the hammer alone.
Also for the same reason that they battled dark matter as children, Dedede is susceptible to possession more than most due to Dark Matter lowering his natural resistances to dark powers because of his exposure to it at a young age.

Literally everything about this is perfect; the subtle world building, the character expressions, the on-point sound effects, just everything. Also, is the dance a mix of Mother 3's dance and Kirby's victory dance?

I love that Dedede's attacks as an adult are split between him and Lilili. It implies a great amount of growth and respect for her on his end later on.
More button inputs required for En Garde compared to the first demo, interesting.
Would that have correlated to Meta Knight getting stronger or leveling up, or is that just a change made since the first?
Lilli getting hit by a Screen KO from the punch is funny, that's just great. Good stuff, all of it is just so good.
Thank you! I had the idea that the Star Actions could be leveled up (shown by the little spark on the right side) to add more variety to the gameplay
The En Garde action in this demo is the lvl2 version, it's more powerful but its action command is more difficult to do
@@OniriBoy Y'know, Romain, I think your concept for a Kirby RPG is one of the best things to ever come out of the Kirby fanbase alongside the Gamble Galaxy Stories fangame! Trust me, I've browsed Kirby content on Fantendo, and some of the stuff on there is imaginative, sure, but kinda bland and doesn't really fit with all the lore. An official Kirby RPG in this style could function as a means of uniting up to FIVE fanbases under one banner - Kirby, Mother, Paper Mario, Pikmin and, if Kirby's Inhale works similarly to the franchise's capturing mechanic, Pokémon!
But let's get into the crux of the matter. After seeing how much time and effort you put into your ideas, I really want to make my very own Kirby RPG that retells the events of Star Allies and Heroes in Another Dimension in full.

This is amazing! From the attacks to even Lilili getting punched onto the screen to the Wess Dance reference, this is overall just such a cool scene! I love the nods towards the Mario RPG series with the way the stars show damage and total at the end of each special attack too!

This just keeps getting better and better, I really love it and its potential keeps on giving, amazing job! Also, crazy to think this project is around a year old now.
Literally, everything is perfect about this demo. The world building, the characterizations, the art style, and backgrounds. There should be a fifth demo.

I am utterly floored by your animations, and this is literally such an enchanting version of the Kirby universe. It really is a damn travesty that this isn't a real thing. If possible I think a game developer would be so lucky to work with you to have something like this produced, even just for the fans of the community. It's insane that you don't have more attention on it.

Here I thought Kirby lore couldn't get more interesting! The passion you put into these demos are evident. I really like the way you portray these characters, with little Dedede and big sister Lilili. The story behind the Waddle Dees and what they were like before Kirby came around to Dreamland really sucks me in! Plus, it's in a Mother 3 style which is my love. Your ideas really capture the imagination in an already playful and fantastical world :)

I know that it's an animation, but honestly if it was a full on game, I'd play the hell out of it.

The sprites continue to look fantastic with plenty of expression and the story is intriguing yet humour rich. The gameplay variety in the different types of sequences for the special moves is amazing and I honestly forgot part way through that this is purely an animation rather than an actual game demo. Your 'illusion' was pulled off masterfully!
This is just divinely beautiful and awe-inspiring. I don't get why certain gamers demand games with hugely powerful graphics when such majestic art as this exists with pure skill.

HAL made it very clear that Forgotten Land was the start of a new era for Kirby, and a Kirby RPG would definitely fit the bill.
I recently started playing Mother 3, and that makes me love this even more, hope this will become a fan game some day, cause it's AMAZING!

Omg this is amazing! The concept of this game is super fleshed out and well thought of. I love the little waddle dee hideout with Bandana- I mean Great Dee being the leader and protector. The references are amazing like Meta Knight's attack which is so genius!
Omg, PLEASE let this become a game! Many people have wanted a Kirby RPG, but we still don’t have a proper one. This would probably become very popular if this turned into a fan game and if Nintendo even THINKS about taking this idea down I will cut ties with them faster than Kirby can eat a slice of cake!

I fucking adore this concept. Reminded me so much of paper mario with the combinations of buttons pressing to make the most effective move and the very cutesy art mixed with an Earthbound type user interface. Welldone

I like how theres a sense of goofyness and cute in these animations but also that bit of ominous tension, kinda like mother3 and kirby.

Honestly, I think you've introduced some very interesting gameplay mechanics that I'm not sure I've seen in other RPGs. Great Dee's dee charge, where you can spend as much pp as you want with more getting more results, and then General Dee's ability to knock out one of your characters for a turn. This looks like it would make a really fun game.

A RPG game, with Earthbound fights, with Mario & Luigi/old paper Mario activate attack inputs and puzzle combat, with all the cuteness and charm of Kirby, and maybe a pinch of Undertale?!
This is a master piece, both in art style and the execution of its ideas, if this was a real game I would buy it on a heart beat, congratulations for this beautiful animation!

I like how young meta knight has armor similar to galacta knight, implying that meta knight knew about, or even idolized, galacta knight as a child

I love everything about this, rpgs are one of the most lore intense genre of gaming, yet you use this genre to create a kirby game, now the lore can be as heavy you want, without hiding in the simplistic kirby game
(Also its so much fitting that its a prequel which gave a reason that kirby is not the main protagonist)

I love how general dee’s tank seems to be inspired from the waddle dee tank from return to dreamland and it’s shooting minigame. Nice touch!

Literally the only thing that could have made it better would be if the music in the dance scene had been a chiptune version of "Go Go Heaven" from Hoshi No Kaaby/ Kirby Right Back At Ya! You have a real knack of making fake games I really want to play.
This series is really neat, being a blend of Mother 3 and the M&L series (the zoom out from the castle was *very* M&L) as well as having Paper Mario action commands in the fights.
