    it's so important to repair and not replace
    if governments offered incentives that would make repairing cheaper, the world wouldn't be so close to environmental disaster

      The government or at least our government it's supposed to allow free market problem is Big manufacturers in corporations only want the price things at a point where it is cheaper for you just replace it with another one of their items then they have it repaired that's why you don't see too many TV shops and VCR DVD repair shops anymore or pretty much anything Tech Repair

      @@vid111 I couldn't agree more, infuriating
      in the last few months we've donated two old laptops with a new hard drive in them and windows 10 installed, we fixed a cuisinart food processor where the plastic shaft was cracked..found a replacement shaft cover for $7 and took four tiny plastic covers off the top so I could drop the motor and remove the broken shaft, fix a cracked cowl on my car by hot melting the underside rather than buying a new one, I could go on, but the idea here is even if we have the money to replace, we need to take responsibility for our surroundings and join the right to repair movement

    • @platinumsky845
      @platinumsky845 3 года назад

      @@vid111 I disagree, pretty much all phones have replaceable batteries if you have the right tools. It's not that stuff isn't repairable, it's just that people don't bother learning the skills to do it. Having something sealed up with the battery and clothes like that makes it more durable and also allows It to be made waterproof. In the end this allows devices to last longer. There's several people that have developed the skill set to be able to repair these devices, I've replaced batteries on fully sealed phones multiple times, including my old Pixel 2. Don't complain about the manufacturers when it's the repair shops that are refusing to learn.

      Los mecanicos bien podemos reparar todas y cada una de las partes de tu auto, pero no creo que estes dispuesto a pagar todas las horas de trabajo artesanal que eso conlleva, simplemente te sale mas barato comprar la pieza nueva o si no estas deacuerdo bien puedes repararlas tu mismo...
      Eso sin mencionar las piezas que simplemente no se deben reparar, por el gran riesgo que supondria un fallo, por lo que al "reparar" piezas solo estariamos poniendo en riesgo tu vehiculo y tu vida.
      Por lo que reemplazar la pieza, es la solucion mas efectiva y economica que tendras casi siempre.

    • @AndyKPOV

      No. Not true. There's lots of people like this. But in societies world it's not okay to fix something. It okay to buy a new one. Would you repair a old Xbox 360 to play it. Or go buy a brand new Xbox one cause it's easier. And people that do hard labor like this don't get paid much. I was a auto body tech many years. Getting paid little to nothing to replace whole sides of cars by hand. Rebuilding motors. Bumpers fenders lights and windows. Radios you loose money installing.. it's that there's not a market anymore for hand fixed things. Easier to hit up Amazon.

    • @AndyKPOV

      And would you pay 60$ an hour plus material for a tail light that only cost 15$ online.

    For some reason the most “green oriented’’ people are not interested in craftsmanship like this one. This is an essence of decent living. It used to be like that everywhere. Small farms , small family stores, small restaurants, and shops where everything was repaired instead of being thrown away… We went to far too fast. I hate it.

      All these workers are traimed by their local teachers. They start working from childhood to earn bread for their family and after years of experience, they themselves become teachers and forward their expertise to children's. That's how it works here. Small children aged below 10 years work in mechanics workshop with almost no facilities. They are well trained through a systematic way.

    Tenho o maior respeito e admiração por esses povo dessa região que compreende o Paquistão e a India, são uns verdadeiros artesãos sempre que posso ,vejo o trabalho desse povo ,feito com muito capricho e perfeição , essa cultura milenar carrega muita experiência em todo tipo de trabalho , seria bom se no meu Brasil tivéssemos pessoas para desenvolver esse tipo de trabalho , para reciclar objetos que chegam a custarem um absurdo , e com esses profissionais poderíamos continuar com a originalidade da peça restaurada , parabéns 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
