I’m 37 and back in my 20s when my hair was short the shop was a complete vibe! It’s like we were all family. All the regulars were comfortable with each other and we welcomed the newbies in! We talked about EVERYTHING! It was an uplifting place! I’m back short again and I have a hairstylist that is bomb! She has a very private salon and she only sees one client at a time. She said she wants her salon to feel like a therapy session with a spa experience and baby it is just that! We have become so close and I love her like a sister! I hate when I go to a shop and no one talks…ya know? Like the stylists have attitudes! They don’t talk to you if you aren’t their client! I hate that type of environment because I am a talker! 😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️

Heat training is what I need to do because honestly, I’ve been texturing every 6 months to keep my hair manageable. While my hair is still healthy, I desire to get rid of the harsh chemicals altogether.

Yes girl Brandon never misses!!!! Your hair is so beautiful when it comes to my experience in the black salon I would say that it is a great experience I have moved twice to two different states and in all places I have always stuck with the same stylist because I don’t believe in chair hoppin and I just build a great relationship with my stylist I would say that I go to the traditional salon not those suites not to say that they aren’t some great stylist with amazing customer service we just have to as clients really vet the stylist out because it’s your hair and women don’t play about their hair💕💕

I love some good heat trained hair! I also prefer my curls in a twist out, braid out, and more stretched look anyway vs wash n gos. So I’m with you sis, works for me.

Since I’ve been heat training, my hair has retained so much length. I have fine spongy hair. So when it’s in its natural state it literally knots up and breaks.

I’ve o my ever had salon experiences 2/3 times in my life. I have always been able to do my hair better. You know, we all have our preferences. If I have to go home and do anything to my head…I’m not coming back. Now my son, at 10 started going g to a barbershop. I have to sit there with him to make sure the conversations are “kid friendly”. But no true experience in Salons.

Where I live, there are not many or very few black salons. I would have to travel a good distance to find a black salon. Brandon did that.

I fell like if you want to heat train your natural hair, go for it, it's just hair and your prerogative to do whatever you want 😉
