Ah the irony of the final commercial by Steve McQueen who went on to die of cancer. Great commercials, especially the one with Penny Marshall and Farrah Fawcett!
I came here because of the Poloroid. I saw one 2 years ago. A relative has one as well as the other earliest Poloroid cameras. But thank you for "introducing" the actors/actresses in the commercials. I'm a '90's baby.
WOW WHAT A FLASHBACK WITH THAT POLOROID SWINGER COMMERCIAL I HAD FORGOTTEN THE SONG THANKS FOR SHARING NICE TO HEAR AND SEE THINGSD FROM A MORE INNOCENT FUN TIME..
So many beautiful ladies, Farrah, Lindale Carter, Susan Dey, Marilyn Monroe, shirley Jones, Sandra dee. Also some cool guys like Mel the velvet fog Torme!
Never thought I'd miss Commercials! A time when each one was entertaining and told a story. Not like today's commercials that are Telling you all about some deadly disease you may have and how the medication for it is even More Deadlier! Or some Lawyer telling you how he cares about your Well Being and Will help You Sue some company!
The combination of Penny Marshall and Farrah Fawcett is terrific! Rest in peace, Farrah and Penny. I also like the shampoo ad with Shirley Jones. Lynda Carter had beautiful lips.
8:10-9:06: I remember it being about 1980 when I first saw one of those hair dryers with the cap and rubber tubing. The cap INFLATED when full of hot air. Thankfully the Silex motor never needs service while it sounds like a lawnmower and interferes with TV reception.
Mr. Magoo enjoying a Stag Beer and the smooth crooner, Mel Torme riding a rocket while singing about those Olds 88's. My first memories of Mel was getting the short end of the stick on NBC's Night Court. Rod Serling smoked like a chimney (that's why he lived such a short life) so doing a Forest Fire PSA seemed fitting. Steve McQueen, the Viceroy Man. What a time.
Please bear in mind Serling wasn't the only one that chain smoked. John Wayne and Steve McQueen did as well (who both died of lung cancer almost the same year, I think) and so many other Hollywood actors/actresses. Those who didn't were considered oddballs. Time has brought about a flip, and for the better, health-wise. Yeah, they made bad choices but they weren't necessarily bad people.
@@luisreyes1963 In the episode of ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS titled "Bang! You're Dead", he was going around town unaware the gun he was carrying was real--and loaded. One of those inadvertently threatened was his future LOST IN SPACE sibling, Marta Kristen. (Note--it was one of the small number of ones directed by Hitchcock himself)
I'm still hoping for that Playtex "No Visible Means of Support" Bra as demonstrated by legendary stage magician Harry Blackstone, Junior (and, I believe, his wife Gaye)!
If you ever make another one of these, I have on for you: Curtis-Mathis TV, For many years promoted by Frank “Junior “ Coghlin. He started his film career 1920. Was active up to WW2, and a 23 year Naval career, Returned to acting-part time from 1965.
Susan Dey was my first celebrity crush. I was deeply in lust with Laurie Partridge. And of course, the Mr. Magoo commercial was a "double celeb" ad, since Mr. Magoo was voiced by Jim Backus (for you kids, think Mr. Howell on Gilligan's Island.) On the Carol Burnett Show, they did a great parody of the Robert Conrad battery commercial featuring Tim Conway as the "knock this off" guy. (Instead of "knocking it off," Lyle Waggoner just punched him in the face.)
You might be interested to know that my sister looked so much like Susan Dey that there were times when we’d walk into a restaurant and I could hear people whispering, “She looks like Lori Partridge!”
oh gosh today you cannot advertise toy guns on TV for fear it gives kids the wrong idea however a gun dealer can sell a real gun to a .minor without asking for some type of identification. what gives here? guns do not kill people. people kill people that is true but what needs to be done is that the gun sellers should thoroughly check the buyers profile for any serious .mental problems and if they find anythings do not sell them the gun okay
I remember almost all of these. Lynda Carter in the lipstick one! You'd never get away with that one nowadays. Mustv'e been downright challenging to be a teen aged boy back then!
These are an interesting mix of nobodies before they were famous, and on the other end of the range, current stars making celebrity endorsements. In between are people who had been famous but were no longer important enough to warrant being identified by name when they did an ad. Viewers would recognize most of them but might not remember exactly who they were.
The singer in the Polaroid Swinger commercial sounds an awful lot like Barry Manilow, who wrote and sang commercial jingles (State Farm Is There was one of them) before he was famous.
Absolutely no one with long hair would pile oversoaped hair atop their head then massage it around like that. The end result is a tangled mess impossible to comb through, causing a lot of breakage instead.
Ah the irony of the final commercial by Steve McQueen who went on to die of cancer. Great commercials, especially the one with Penny Marshall and Farrah Fawcett!
Rod Serling made a believer out of me.
Thanks FrdFlix for this vintage gold. As a kid, I wanted to talk like Rod Serling--so distinctive.
I came here because of the Poloroid. I saw one 2 years ago. A relative has one as well as the other earliest Poloroid cameras. But thank you for "introducing" the actors/actresses in the commercials. I'm a '90's baby.
Billy Mumy and those Guns! Lol
I had both.
WOW WHAT A FLASHBACK WITH THAT POLOROID SWINGER COMMERCIAL I HAD FORGOTTEN THE SONG THANKS FOR SHARING NICE TO HEAR AND SEE THINGSD FROM A MORE INNOCENT FUN TIME..
It was that very ad for Milton Bradley's Hangman game that made my dad get me one for my birthday. I sure had fun with that game.
TimelordR cool ❗️
That bank is so accurate with how banks work in Greece. 😂😂😂
So many beautiful ladies, Farrah, Lindale Carter, Susan Dey, Marilyn Monroe, shirley Jones, Sandra dee. Also some cool guys like Mel the velvet fog Torme!
you forgot Raquel Welch
Miss Farrah
I loved that Head and Shoulders commercial with Farrah Fawcett and Penny Marshall. The interaction between them is priceless!
Yeah, it's pretty funny. I also like the font they used in the title caption.
Farrah was gorgeous in her prime.
When O.J was being chased in his bronco he thought it was another Hertz commercial.
Receiving a Polaroid Swinger camera for Christmas 1966 was a major source of excitement.
I accept that dare Mr. Conrad:)
Rod Serling's ad was like watching a The Twilight Zone episode! Timeless and classic.
Thanks for uploading these jewels!
Never thought I'd miss Commercials! A time when each one was entertaining and told a story.
Not like today's commercials that are Telling you all about some deadly disease you may have and how the medication for it is even
More Deadlier!
Or some Lawyer telling you how he cares about your Well Being and Will help You Sue some company!
Remember Steve McQueen , only you can prevent forest fires . . . in the twilight zone .
Wow thanks for sharing , these bring back the memories and age. Thank you
Having a great time binge watching these videos!
7:13 MTM was beautiful.
Just love...❤
I never seen Marilyn Monroe in a commercial before! This is great!
She should have done a life insurance commercial.
Don't know how you find all this but it's cool
Mr. Magoo in beer ads? Shocking...
Also, that PSA with Rod Serling, he's dead serious.
I hope he never accidentally started a forest fire...
This collection is amazing ‼️
Thanks, Jeff.
'where you were 50 years ago'....... I was in the Air Force in South Korea stationed at the Osan Air Base during the USS Pueblo Crisis of 1968.
I remember Hang Man game from Milton Bradley. Love Mel Torme singing.
Absolute classic is the Farrah/Penny Marshall one. Also the Monkees selling Nerf balls. And hey Mary, you need a white belt...! :D
Jill Monroe and Laverne DeFazio lol
Charlotte Tan Raquel Welch...my dream babe when I was a teenager.
Charlotte Tan ii
Those guns were fun, but little did we know that they were for training all to be soldiers.
The combination of Penny Marshall and Farrah Fawcett is terrific! Rest in peace, Farrah and Penny. I also like the shampoo ad with Shirley Jones. Lynda Carter had beautiful lips.
Had those exact blow dryers and boy have we come a long way.
The lady on the hangman game one w Vincent price is miss Mamie from the waltons
Linda Carter soo beautiful 😍😎😉💋💄

😂😂😂😂
We brought my mother one of those hairdryers with a tube and plastic cap way back in the early 60s. She had it for @ 50 years.
Mr. Magoo a drinker?! Say it ain't so!!!!
Love the Velvet Fog. I owned a 75 and an 83 Delta 88. Great cars.
Lets not forget Mary Louise Weller and Debbie Evans from the Jean Nate After Bath Splash Commercials.
16:27 - Rod Serling's bit...that's good.
Too cool
3:00. I remember that kid. He was the possessed kid that was on the Twilight Zone. Super creepy!
That's Billy mummy from lost in space
Wow Farrah Fawcett was beautiful. Yeah yeah we all know that but here she looks more natural
I had seen that Lady Shick commercial before and didn't realize that was Angela Cartwright! She sure was HOT!
Don't blame ya' lady. Love it.

Peggy Lee also did Oldsmobile commercials around that time...
Rod Serling seen heavy combat in the Philippines against the Japanese.
The “Hangman “ game with Vincent Price -
The actress with him was on The Walton’s as one of the Bootlegger sisters.
Ok I'm shipping on the penny and Farrah advert 😍
What's worse? Having little Billy Mummy shoot a gun at you or wishing you out into the corn field?
Foxonian LMAO!
Foxonian HILARIOUS YOOSTOOPID!
At least Billy Mumy has no malice towards his toy gun target.

I didn't know Mr. Magoo shilled beer...
That's nothing, Fred & Barney once shilled cigarettes.
David Davenport
The vocal stylings of the great Jim Backus!
The character also sold GE light bulbs...
Lynda Carter ..what a babe.
.. still beautiful.
Daquan Jackson But how on earth did they get away with that VERY suggestive dialogue 50 years ago?!
Who could have imagined OJ would be on the run for REAL!
Ooohhhh, RAQUEL....
Those arent buoys
I'm still hoping for that Playtex "No Visible Means of Support" Bra as demonstrated by legendary stage magician Harry Blackstone, Junior (and, I believe, his wife Gaye)!
5:05 very wonderful indeed
Nice work keep it up

Go! OJ Go! years later he would be ding a different kind of running...😆😆😆
0-0 "go OJ go" well then that was foreshadowing much
Was that Vern Bennett, the early O & H announcer doing the Hotpoint commercial at 6:22 ?
laughed at the hangman commercial
Recognize the guy singing in the Polaroid ad? He also composed the jingle. It's Barry Manilow.
These are gems. I'm amazed at what we used to. Oooohhh and aaagghhh...about in the ol days..
Laura Petri...."Oh Ro-o-o-ob!"
Valerie sorry I ruined your classic commercials but it was seeing bill mummy with a toy gun that set me off
Farrah reminded me of the "How do you give somebody 'Shoulders'?" joke...😁
I was only 7 year old in 1966
10:30 I bet my hair to everyone that OJ got the Bronco from Hertz. After that everything does downhill after that for both OJ and Hertz.
Somebody make a meme out of that Robert Conrad Eveready commercial. I dare you.
I don't blame you, lady ❤
Shit gives you the most to work with . . . . hahahahaha
I thought it sounded like shit too .
I thought I was hearing things, so I listened a second time. Wow.
I thought I heard that, too!
GO O J.......My how time's and things have changed.
I had forgotten all about Mr. Magoo
Nice pic
Mantlebaum Mantlebaum....Its o time😂😂😂😂
Those arent buoys
How does he know he's drinking Stag beer?
I had to do a double take at 12:49!
oh gosh today you cannot advertise toy guns on TV for fear it gives kids the wrong idea however a gun dealer can sell a real gun to a .minor without asking for some type of identification. what gives here? guns do not kill people. people kill people that is true but what needs to be done is that the gun sellers should thoroughly check the buyers profile for any serious .mental problems and if they find anythings do not sell them the gun okay
Laverne & Farrah work at Shotz Brewery.
Sadly, they both had passed away. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Sott towels, did you notice that mum and dad sleep in separate beds ??
Lynda Carter the Maybelline Queen!
I remember almost all of these. Lynda Carter in the lipstick one! You'd never get away with that one nowadays. Mustv'e been downright challenging to be a teen aged boy back then!
Is that Georgia Holt (Cher’s Mom) in the “Hotpoint” commercial?
The dancer is Mary Tyler Moore
Sacred Geometry yes, I meant the other woman in the commercial

Second commercial. I had that t.v. . It was used.
Sandra Dee stopping to see Mr Ed at Wilbur's home.
Wow!!!!!!!!
OJ lol
Tarrah Fawcett & Pnny Marshall -what a odd pairing! But it worked!!!!
Practice for running to Al Callings 🚔
15:20 Lauren was so cute!
lol steve mcqueen, a thinking mans filter!
Susan Dey
Frankly, you can see in that spot how skinny she was...she was dealing with anorexia.
The singer in the Polaroid Swinger commercial sounds an awful lot like Barry Manilow, who wrote and sang commercial jingles (State Farm Is There was one of them) before he was famous.
I hadn't thought of it before but I think you're right.
It IS Manilow...
I am a lifelong Barry Manilow fan and can tell you this is definitely NOT Barry Manilow singing this jingle.
He composed this jingle and sang it.
www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2009/sep/06/polaroid-project-sean-ohagan
Angela Cartwright was already a star, not sure why she would feel the need to do a hair dryer commercial?
Because they paid her to do it and really what did she do after lost in space
I still have a crush on Angela.
Shirley Jones before Mrs Partridge!
... and omg, Susan Dey.. I loved Laurie Partridge.
It won't be much longer before there is no one left who was these on a television.
Absolutely no one with long hair would pile oversoaped hair atop their head then massage it around like that. The end result is a tangled mess impossible to comb through, causing a lot of breakage instead.
Nor would any woman in the shower still have on her full make-up either, showing no smearing from the water of the shower blasting into her face.
Not if you use the right conditioner
Susan Dey has luscious cheese burger lipps.
These are all commercials made before the advent of "Toxic Masculinity".
Why would Miss Moore bother doing a toothpaste commercial? Oh well - I just enjoy looking at her anyway.
Mary Tyler Moore was such a naturally beautiful woman!
Men make the best cooks, just ask dad. Come on Betty let’s see if we’re smart enough to put bread in the toaster. OMG!!!! WTF???? Father knows best?
