The closest thing I could think of for the fantasy of playing like Captain America was an Armorer Artificer. Get the platemail, and you can punch with your fists and do reasonable damage with the electric gauntlets. Sadly though in practice you're basically playing Iron Man by doing that.

I'd considered that route too. But, like you said, I kind of did that for Iron Man, and as I'm sure we both agree, that archetype fits IM WAY better than Capt. America. I think the biggest problem is honestly that you would need to homebrew so many rules for this to work properly, which is really a shame. But that's ok - if you could just perfectly adapt any superhero into D&D, games like Mutants & Masterminds wouldn't exist, which would be a shame :)

Hi, Rob! I've really appreciated the builds you've made at my request in the past. The Oathbreaker one really came in handy! Would you consider making high level builds for Minsc and Drizzt? I'm adding them in as NPCs at the finale of the Icewind Dale and Spelljammer campaigns I am running, and I'd love to see your take on these icons. In particular, I'm thinking about how they can have a moment to wow the players for storytelling purposes and yet not steal the thunder when it comes time to face the BBEG. Thanks for considering!

Boomerang Shield is only an Uncommon item, and it does what Caps shield does in the movies.

Ah, good catch. Also, I like your name.
