Awesome Saxon ranking, John! I'm a bit surprised that their newer albums were in your top 5. I would've expected their older albums to be in there.

Excellent ranking, mostly agree, I definitely like a lot of the Post 2000 albums. Our bottom 5 are very similar.

Thanks that's awesome this is one of the few metal bands that has gotten better with age and I prefer their newer albums over there older stuff for the most part.

Great Saxon album ranking John! Damn they have a lot of albums!! Since the new one came out I've wanted to try them out, but had no clue where to start! So this video definitely helps there! I'll probably try the new one first, then the first couple of albums, and maybe the most newer ones. Cheers! 😊🤘🏻

I think the latest album is not a bad place to start. This is one of the few old bands where I like their newer stuff better, with a few exceptions of course.

@jcrockandmetalreviews Nice that's cool, I'll definitely start with the newest one and see where I go from there. Ahh yeah, that's interesting. Normally it's the other way around, but I'm the same with Death Angel! Minus the debut I much prefer the later albums. Interesting indeed 😊🤘🏻

I don’t think I’d change a thing:). My three favorite Saxon tracks are “Crusader,” “Princess of the Night” and “747: Strangers in the Night.” “Thunderbolt” and “Battering Ram” are killer albums!

Hi John!!! cool ranking and seeing the new one so high on your list..... they do have a huge studio catalogue and a couple of killer live recordings too. This year i have to get a couple of their studio albums in my collection, unfortunatelly the new one is really expensive down here so i will have to wait a liitle.... cheers and be well

Good video. I've only been listening to Saxon for a few weeks so my opinion isn't worth much but this is how I'd rank them based on my early impressions:
    *From Favorite to Least Favorite*
    Into the Labyrinth (2009)
    The Inner Sanctum (2007)
    Dogs of War (1995)
    Denim and Leather (1981)
    Carpe Diem (2022)
    Thunderbolt (2018)
    Killing Ground (2001)
    Call to Arms (2011)
    Hell, Fire and Damnation (2024)
    Power & the Glory (1983)
    Battering Ram (2015)
    Unleash the Beast (1997)
    Wheels of Steel (1980)
Strong Arm of the Law (1980)
    Rock the Nations (1986)
    Saxon (1979)
    Sacrifice (2013)
    Lionheart (2004)
    Innocence Is No Excuse (1985)
    Forever Free (1992)
    Solid Ball of Rock (1991)
    Crusader (1984)
    Metalhead (1999)
    Destiny (1988)
The two Inspirations albums would likely make my top ten if I included them. Big fan of both of them. Some albums fell on my list due to production values.
