Thank you for a terrific review! Watching this video has inspired me to consider that my dream job might be as a "jump rope engineer" and look at the physics of the jump rope swing and of the repeating handles-to-ground forces and find (or invent!) materials, size, weight, and configuration of the handles and the rope. I would approach it like aircraft engineers to when designing an airplane. ✈
Thanks for this review JRV. This is the sort of weight of skipping rope that I am interested in. It's great that you are doing these reviews - very informative and useful.
The EliteSRS Muy Thai may last longer, but it's not as maneuverable as the Legacy Rope in my opinion. I believe that Punk Rope has a one lb weighted rope as well. It's hard to find a good combination of weight and maneuverability at this weight.
Hey man, big fan of your channel. I was wondering if you saw any chafing and subsequent wear on the part of the rope that rotates and rubs on the handle? The reason I ask is that I recently purchased an identical rope on Amazon by the company “High Activity” located in India. I know RA sources his ropes to a manufacturer out there, so I figured I found the same exact rope under different branding (at a cheaper price). However, I noticed after using it one time, the rope began chafing at the handle (producing what looked like some fine grated PVC right off the bat. Did you notice this initially with the rope? Hope I didn’t purchase what may have been a much lower quality imitation. Thanks.
I haven't noticed it with this rope, however, I don't use it daily. Others have told me that their Legacy rope has snapped near the handle after prolonged use. Unfortunately, this is what happens with PVC.
Hey man, i'm from India too I've got the same rope that you're speaking about in white color by high activity. I've had the exact problem that you mentioned and moreover the rope began to thin at the point where it comes in contact with the ground, however I contacted Highactivity and they sent me a replacement cord for free
Yesterday I broke my Legacy rope, and I used it about 2 to 3 times a week for my workout… Shall I buy a cable replacement or shall I consider crossrope?
It depends on your strategy and your financial position. If you want to invest more money up front for ropes that last longer, I'd go with a Crossrope. If you're okay with continuing to buy PVC ropes periodically, I'd stick with this rope.
Than you for review. I'm looking for a weighted rope to add to my workouts and narrowed my search down to Muay Thai rope 2.0, 3.0 and the Legacy rope. (I will probably eventually get the crossrope but I'm not willing to make that investment right now.) I originally wanted the Muay Thai 2.0 or 3.0 because they are heavier and the 3.0 also was said to be smooth and versatile for it's weight. But unfortunately for me elite jump products are more expensive than the rush athletics because of crazy shipping price💀
Bro if you could choose just one rope from rush (or any even) athletics which one would it be? Nova? Money performance? Just one to carry around say for travels or something. Assume it’s always on a mat… would you even choose a rush rope? I love the cross rope but find the quarter pound just a tiiiiny bit to light for the handles in terms of weight balance (I do love the handles though) and half pound just a little to heavy for noobs like me to do speed work and tricks etc. Been bingeing your vids a few days and love them 👊 Keep winning man
🙏🏽Thank you for your support. I wouldn't choose any of their ropes that I've tried over their counterparts in my current collection. Don't let that discourage you from choosing one, though. The best rope is the one that works for you.
@@JumpRopeVeteran sick answer and big thank you. I agree fully about finding what works for each person. I thought cross rope would have been my final go to and still is but I just want a decent pvc without the complex handles that scratch or wreck your watch / fitness tracker screens / screen protectors etc when you mess up cross overs or whatever else. I love the cross rope don’t get me wrong but it’s not the most portable skipping rope and the quarter pound is just a tiny bit to light for the handles and the half pound is not really for taking out, the get strong ropes aren’t even an option to carry around I think. Funny thing is I have a few identical ropes to the RA ropes but non branded and most reviews say there actually is a difference like genuine Lego and Ali Express Lego type of thing’ o hope that made sense. I’m waiting for a money rope 2.0 pvc and beaded (still learning) and will go from there. Skipping isn’t the most expensive hobby so win win! What rope are you using currently and if you could recommend one or have a favourite pvc rope what would it be?
I use Crossrope and Rhythm Rope a lot these days. I use the Crossrope a lot because of the AMP handles. The PVC ropes I use consistently are the EliteSRS Fit Plus and the Buddy Lee Rope Master.
The only thing I got to complain about this rope it's the handles, I think they might be quite thick for some people's hands. I have a hard time gripping the handles, it's uncomfortable to my hands, I have to grab it from the end of the handle (where rope begins) to get a somewhat comfortable grip. Not sure if this is how it's supposed to be and maybe I need more practice for weight resistance

Thanks for the great. Which one do you recommend ? Similar to this but last longer

Is the rope tangle free?
I've never experienced issues with it tangling, but I always hang it.

I hear you. Most weighted ropes are like that. I have to hold near the ends as well, especially if I do a longer set.
what a rip off those ropes are ...I'm an SRS and buyjumporopes guy
Thanks for sharing, brother. I like EliteSRS as well. 💪🏽
