- Our Little India food tour in Bangkok, guided by the ever-knowledgeable and passionate Rennu Ji, started with a visit to the Gurdwara Siri Guru Singh Sabha. This sacred space set the tone for a journey through the rich culinary traditions of the Indian community in Bangkok.
Our first food stop was at Samosa Corner in Phahurat Market, near the Indian Emporium Mall. Here, we savored delicious samosas-deep-fried triangular pastries stuffed with a mildly spicy potato mixture. The crispy exterior and flavorful filling made it a perfect street snack to kick off our tour.
Next, we headed to Punjab Sweets, also in Phahurat Market, where we indulged in Kala Jamun. This delectable treat is a sugar syrup-laden deep-fried ball made of khoya, offering a rich and sweet taste that was absolutely delightful.
We then visited the Royal India Restaurant in Phahurat Market, renowned for its Gobhi Ka Paratha. This thick flatbread, either pan-fried or tandoor-baked, is stuffed with a mildly spiced grated cauliflower mixture, making it a hearty and flavorful dish.
Our culinary journey continued at Tony's in Phahurat Market, where we enjoyed Roti and Chana Masala. The thin whole wheat flour flatbread (roti) paired perfectly with the rich, spicy, and flavorful Punjabi-style chickpea curry (chana masala), providing a satisfying and comforting meal.
After exploring the vibrant Phahurat Market, we made our way to the Sri Mahamariamman Temple, immersing ourselves in the spiritual ambiance before continuing our food adventure.
Our next stop was DK Bakery on Si Lom Road, where we tried Khanom Sangkhya Baitoey. This soft bun filled with a thick custard made of coconut milk, eggs, and pandan leaves was a delightful fusion of textures and flavors.
We then visited Chennai Kitchen in Si Lom, where we enjoyed Dosa, a popular South Indian dish. This savory crepe made from a rice and lentil batter is stuffed with a mildly spiced potato mixture, offering a taste of southern India in the heart of Bangkok.
Our final stop was the Phaithong Ice Cream Cart on Si Lom Road, where we treated ourselves to Coconut Ice Cream. This creamy and luscious ice cream made of coconut milk was a refreshing end to our gastronomic journey.
Throughout the tour, Rennu Ji's insights and enthusiasm enriched our experience, highlighting the unique stories and cultural significance behind each dish. The Little India food tour in Bangkok offered an unforgettable exploration of the diverse and delectable Indian cuisine, making it a true feast for the senses.

Amazing as usual and great to see this from the UK, it was good for me to watch she should know. Such hospitality and kindness across different religions and people who have travelled and live in other countries. This is food heaven for me also, Thai khana, Indian khana, all Asian khana and traditions are amazing and need respecting.

Nice video sir
Phle sardarji hai jo thai ascent me bol rhe hai.🎉
9:40 it’s not Modak. It looks like some kind of pedha / peddi which is badly mimicking Modak shape..
Authentic Konkani Modak are Marathi delicacy of coconut and sugar or jaggery stuffing inside rice flour which is steamed.
In some parts of Maharashtra or some other communities same stuffing could be inside wheat flour and then fried.
I’m sure Anubhav knows what Modak is and this was unintentional mention just by the shape of pedha, but I wanted to clarify for audience.. Anubhav has more responsibility of being correct given his following here 😊
Thanks
Thank you ☺️
