Before HoloEN, HoloID was the only group that would consistently speak English. At first that was my selling point, but as I got to know them, I found there was just something so unique about them. Even after HoloEN debuted, the Holo ID:Entity continued to evolve and with the arrival of Gen 2, it became cemented. HoloID is different from JP and EN. JP doesn't need an identity because it is the home of anime and VTubers. EN didn't need an identity because it's universally recognised in the internet, and isn't even bound to a country. But ID really worked hard to show that they have an identity and worked hard to get to where they are. Such a story is why I'll be supporting them for as long as I continue to watch VTubers!
After reading your kind words I dunno why but I have the urge to express my gratitude, thanks a lot man. I've been watching them since the first gen debuted and seeing them grow and getting recognition from a lot of people is the best feeling ever for me as a fan.

The only song that is in the same language as Indonesian is the second song, “kicirkicir”. It's in Betawi, a dialect of Malay spoken in Jakarta, and Indonesian is a form of standard Malay. While the other songs are in whole different language, still Austronesian though

Hello Soo Min Park! just want to say thank you for always supporting hololive ID, i always think that your comments represents the feeling of many of us here!
as Indonesian i just can understand like 10% (especially the Javanese part), but feel very nostalgic because i learn this Indonesian folk songs in elementary school, and this reminds me how beautiful our cultures are & we have like hundreds of language exist here~
the Jakarta one was easy for Malaysians to understand, Aceh one maybe a bit due to somewhat similar language structure, but boy the Javanese, Northern Sumatera and Papua ones is like a totally different languages. I heard of Cublak Cublak Suweng before somewhere, can't remember.
@@Eiensakura probably because Bataknese and especially Papuan are on completely different linguistic and racial ethnic group from Deutro Melayu (that Bahasa Melayu & Indonesia hails from). Bataknese are Proto-Malay and Papuans are a separate group altogether.
The nostalgia feels, make me remember back in elementary school we got the book for every folk songs and our national songs that we sing together in class. This video is wholesome and amazing.
Man, ID girls are my favorite. There's something that splits them apart from the other branches. I've pondered about to find out what it is and I have come to a conclusion of what it is. It's Identity, no this is not an attempt to make a pun (ID:Entity). I always thought that the ID branch is in an awkward position as a branch that's because hololive already have EN and JP to cater to their respective markets (International and local/japanese), Indonesia is a big market to expand to but it also comes with a few caveats; the language itself is pretty obscure not many people outside of SEA speak it, the weeb culture is big but is pretty new to the concept of vtubers, lastly the Indonesian viewers can also be counted among international viewers (EN). With this much obstacles it would not be strange if HoloID turned out to be "that other JP branch" or "that EN alternative branch" and be fine with it. But this is not what we see rn. HoloID had worked hard to make themselves distinct and I love them for it.
Take it easy all over Asia now there are Indonesian language classes or schools and some have become the second language of the countries so they can definitely understand. Even in canada it already exists.
yeah well technically hololive ID is the early Hololive EN 0 generation. even in the early streaming they immediately use like 80% english all the time to catch some viewers which is make sense. first ID announce 6 april 20 meanwhile EN 8 september 20 but EN got the attention more faster obviously because a lot of aspect and reason lmao
@Koisan yea ikr i mean SEA itself isnt a center of any world mainstream media attention for a long time the last time it got a bit of attention is when opening ceremony asian games is held back in 2018
If there is any overseas viewer here, I just want to say thank you so much for coming. Maybe I'm not the right person to say this, but I really glad to have you join us in celebrating our independence day. I hope you could enjoying this video as much as us Indonesian viewers enjoying it, in spite of the language barrier or cultural difference.
Ooh~! This is nice! I feel like a companion video with the talents talking a bit about the songs would be cool, too! Stuff like history, cultural significance, maybe if one was a song they grew up hearing a lot.

Damn I thought as an Malaysian myself I also understand like 10%
Tau lagunya keseluruhan tapi tidak mengerti arti dan maknanya
the Jakarta one was easy for Malaysians to understand, Aceh one maybe a bit due to somewhat similar language structure, but boy the Javanese, Northern Sumatera and Papua ones is like a totally different languages. I heard of Cublak Cublak Suweng before somewhere, can't remember.

Is this a review page?
yeah well technically hololive ID is the early Hololive EN 0 generation.
even in the early streaming they immediately use like 80% english all the time to catch some viewers which is make sense.
first ID announce 6 april 20 meanwhile EN 8 september 20
but EN got the attention more faster obviously because a lot of aspect and reason lmao
@Koisan yea ikr i mean SEA itself isnt a center of any world mainstream media attention for a long time
the last time it got a bit of attention is when opening ceremony asian games is held back in 2018
I think ID Branch is an nationality branch not like EN branch
Can we take a moment to appreciate that the number of syllables in the English translation matches the number of syllables in the song in every line?
oh god you're right
Yeah lots said that you can even do karaoke with the english lyrics
maybe that's why I can learn english easily
