Nice video production bro, much more interesting to hear the perspective of a real world user instead of the professional reviewers who just repeat each other.
Thank you for a refreshingly honest, real-world overview of the Surface Laptop 7 without the pretentious attitude of some of the so-called professional reviewers. Really well done. My only suggestion for improvement - show some affection to your cat (she was working hard for your attention)! 🙂
Great video my friend, I have the 13" model, and apart from the odd stutter, it is incredible. As you say mine runs silently, and the battery life is incredible. Thanks for the video.
Yes. You are reminded how special it is to be using full blown snappy windows after you've been using it for a few hours with no noise and minimal heat with plenty of battery left.
@@benhamilton8556 I went for the XPlus, saw there was little to no difference it seems in benchmarks and I wanted to get as much battery life as I could out of the machine.
Pretty cat. She likes the laptop. I have the Surface 7 13.8 inch, X Plus processor, 16 GB, 512 SSD. I like it. I also have a Mac Air 15-inch. Those two laptops are comparable. But the Surface has a touchscreen and a backspace key, both of which I miss on the Mac, and the price of the Surface 7 is now cheaper. Everything worked on both laptops except my old Laser Jet printer. Correction: My Surface 7 now recognizes and prints from my old laser jet printer, including double-sided printing. I don't want to mislead anyone, so I'm correcting what I originally said.

for work in machine learning and data science what do you believe is a better device, this new surface laptop 7, or a macbook pro m3 pro (not the max just the pro). Need a new device to work in that space and struggling to decide. Been a windows user my whole life but willing to switch to mac if its really the no brainer choice for machine learning work so trying to get lots of opinions on the subject. thanks for your videos.
I am not familiar with what type of software is used for machine learning. There is no question that the M3 pro would be the more powerful out of the two. That being said if you prefer windows maybe confirm that the software is built to natively support arm, and if so by a surface with additional memory. Even with how great this PC is I will still be keeping my MacBook for the really heavy duty tasks.
Many complain about fan noise on other laptops. Can you find out if it's the emulation that heats up the device so much? in this case it's the fault of Prism emulation. It would be interesting to compare the same software in arm and x86 and measure the temperature difference. Thanks in advance
That was One of the things I was most impressed by. There is almost no fan noise even when I am doing photo editing. If there is some fan spooling up it is nowhere near anything like my 2023 HP spectre. You can tell it's significantly more efficient just by the little bit that it warms up.
The picture looks very flat here; I suppose you can bump up the brightness, colors, and contrast in post? Can easily be done in the iPhone's Photos app.
@@shinynewgadget5163No judgement, from my comment here; Did you color grade? It looks like you did, but is this a LUT you used? Just curious, since I'm also a Sony shooter.
What do you mean by "upgrade the hardware"? There is no ability to upgrade the key components of Copilot+ PCs. If you need to upgrade, then you'll be faced with replacing the laptop.
@@shinynewgadget5163 The real problem with any ARM based computer running Windows is that you still need another one based on Intel's x86/64 architecture due to many programs not running properly (or at all) via the Prism translation layer. Given that Copilot+ PCs don't really offer anything a user absolutely must have, it makes the decision to purchase an Intel based laptop fairly easy.
I'd def recommend the larger, you'll appreciate the extra real estate and doesn't sound like the tiny but if extra weight will impact your travel. Also, go with 32GB of RAM

I would disagree. I find it a pleasure to use for the type of work that I need it for. Not worrying about battery, heat or performance is what I've been wanting out of a windows laptop since the introduction of apples M1. We have it here.

Hi Chris, Can you tell me which model snapdragon elite processor is in your surface laptop? Is it the x1e-84-100? Thanks!
So they released a latop 6 and then the 7 just 2 months after ?
The one released a couple months ago was powered by Intel's x86 meteorlake processor. Heat and battery life are the main issues with that platform.
