Those red envelopes are usually given out during chinese new year with cash inside in order to bring good luck and prosperity in the new year. The red colour is also said to ward off evil spirits
I’m black and work in Chinatown Boston. I can confirm, Chinese New Year is my favorite holiday🎉. Imagine people given you money because it give them goodluck.
Came here looking for this, was not disappointed. I miss my old Chinese boss, him and his family would all bring me evelopes with between 50 - 500 bucks. And because it was a gift, it was tax free.
4:50 If I'm not mistaken, those envelopes represent Chinese traditional 'ang pow' (translation: 'red packet') which people use to gift money during new year's celebrations or other special events.
9:31 most of the sag comes from the IO bracket not being completely secured (usually secured with 4 screws near the display out ports) but this card has an additional two screws just below the display outs which supports the card more. JTC did a video on this a while ago when the 3000 series launched and I believe EVGA was the first one to secure the bracket to the shroud so that the gpu wouldn't sag. Just my two cents on the topic.
those red envelopes as what you called it @4:54 are called red packets/hong pau ,they are used to gift money on special occasions such as weddings, and birthdays and chinese new year (more info on google though).
So pretty, but just the card and the screens would’ve been worth it. Everything else should’ve been an option. The actual little screen should also be sold separately too. Maybe just a basic black version, because it could actually come in handy.
Hey Greg, love your videos. The sag you mentioned doesn't happen immediately. It happens over time. During the heat, cool, heat, cool cycles, it begins to sag putting immense strain near the pcie slot which can potentially rip the pads under the ram ic or even the gpu die leading to black screen issues. For more beefy cards, the card itself cracks damaging the internal layers of the pcb. In this case, a repair to restore isn't economically viable.
@wojtek-33 you need to remember that the human eye is not capable to detecting mm of sag. But I agree that beefy cards such as 4090 can be slightly observed to sag to a trained eye. If everyone were able to notice it, no sane person would leave it that way and then send it over to a repair shop (maybe they exist too!! Crazy people out there 🤣🤣).
It depends on the rear I/O shield of the gpu, most I/O shields have too much flex in them and aren't directly screwed into anchor points on the gpu shroud/heatsink
@SkateClipsAndTips not really. Regardless of the rear io shield, the flex is due to the weight distribution in the card. Most of the card weight is on the pcie port on the motherboard itself (that's why they are made real thick). Plus, newer gpu have the heatsink overhanging on the left side (where the power cables plug in). This is what cause the sag. The sag on the left side is more noticeable compared to the right side. Check it out. Plus, given the damage it cause on card itself(either ram module or apu), this explanation is only justification. Especially for the cards with cracks.
A lot of people have already mentioned that the red packets are called ang pao, but a neat play on words is that the Chinese word for dragon is loong, hence the card having 'super long' in the name xD
I could only imagine what would happen if sli was still around. Dual 4090ti super sli would be a mouth full and ridiculous. Power consumption would be insane
Sometimes the white cards go crazy with the white everything. I have a Power Color 6700XT Hellhound Spectral White Edition and they even used a white PCB!
my first ever colorful gpu was a gtx 1650 wayback 2018 or 2019 it was prebuilt almost sll copoments was colorful. Gave it to my sister after getting a laptop for work. Still alive today. They also repkied to my emakl when asking for support for the mobo bios. Even message their seller in Aliexpress and just gave me colorful email support.
got my hands on the maxsun icraft z690 mobo for 114 brand new in box. just amazing lookin. came with a board to mount you mobo to and use as a test bench before installing in your build. Plus the tools included are a super sweet touch. NOt really seen in american boxes
My nephew used to do the one sock thing... when he was 4. Weird thing is he'd have one shoe off and one sock off, but on opposite feet. So he'd take off his shoes, take off one sock, then put a shoe back on the bare foot. It usually happened as he was watching Power Rangers, and his brain would just shut off.
Fantastic card from a good company that should sell more cards in America if it were allowed. They have been around for well over a decade from memory and have always had some "different" designs that appeal to different people and markets. I'd have one in a heart beat if they were available in Australia for a reasonable price.
Probably because the prices are so out there and availability is so not there, why even bother looking when you know you can't afford it or if you can still won't find it.
Seems like a pretty good price for that video card. The closet card to that here in New Zealand is the ASUS ROG STRIX NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER OC WHITE 16GB and that will cost $2599.00 NZD or $1582 USD which makes it a bit of a bargain from my standpoint.
I had MSI Dragon stickers because my rig's parts are from MSI before the Year of the Dragon. I will not be removing them when the Year of the Dragon is over... :p I will be amazed if MSI's marketing department does not take advantage of the its logo matching the year.
I probably don't understand all this fancy signs, LED displays, RGB thing. Wish companies would just make minimalistic industrial looking stuff, XFX is kinda doing that and EVGA did too.
It's going to be a hard thing to deal with when my MSI RTX 3060 ti craps out. I'm hopeful that's not for several more years. But when that happens, it's nice to know that a card of this caliber will not be in the cards for me to buy, so I don't even have to worry about it. Thanks for the review. The new studio looks fantastic!
I got my 4070 ti super 16gb a couple of weeks ago - white Zotac - which didn't have any of the accessories or features of the one you're demonstrating. No overclocking bios pushbutton, and no amazing desk mat! That mat makes for one cool accessory! Oh well, I got mine for ~ $830 US. I would imagine the one you have was in the $1200 to $1500 range or more. I must say that I am pleased with the performance of the 4070 ti super, and in my system has no problem playing all of my games at ultra everything! A huge step up from the 3070 I bought about a year ago for roughly the same price.
I just got mine for roughtly 700 dlls. A pny verto. While not the fanciest, the cooler is huge and the card runs cold. And for the price, i am realy happy. Oh and is an OC version too. So i am realy getting good numbers!
Bought a 7900XT and it died in about 9 days. Went back to microcenter yesterday and walked out with a 4070TIS Aero and am very happy with it. This card is super cool, but would probably pass because of the mark up
I guess if you want the small little benefits of this limited edition, its worth it. And finding a stock component that fits the aesthetics of your current build is actually hard to find usually. But overall it looks dope and beautifully fits your white build you put it in. Lisa should approve 🤞
It might need (the stand) in time. My current GPU didn't, but after a year of use it does need it now (I 3D printed one, no biggy). Man is that a beautiful card - nice job Colorful!
Its not about the markup the issue, the root problem is that the MSRP for the US is darn cheap.. when you leave the US it skyrocket... and its the same of every products... Cant realy do a price comparison :/
NVidia's naming convention is really simple, they just never explained it simply. Ti means .5 step. SUPER means mid-generation rebin/refresh. 4070 Ti SUPER is a step between the 4070 and 4080 which has been slightly up-binned in a mid-generation refresh.
I bought the 4070 TI before the EOL (End of Life) was announced and the 40 supers were announced. Would it better to have gone for the Super version compared to the standard Ti version?
I just don’t understand why they have to make graphic cards so big but yet our phones have just as good graphics and don’t need that much space it’s like we’re going backwards with size
I find it amusing a person would spend an obscene amount on a card virtually no one will ever see, or even care about for that matter, Petty desires for petty people I guess. That said this really is a wicked card, though after a short time I probably wouldn't pay much attention to it and that's the hard part to digest.

You're correct, I was just about to comment on this myself.
yeah, the original translation is 红包hong bao meaning red envelope
You know they're balling if they give you Envelope from companies 🤣

What part of the video?

MISSING SOCK IS CRAZY XD
Crazy as store bought pesto? I don't think so 😂
Greg buying a new house from scratch, then there’s his cameraman that walked to work losing both shoes and a sock on the way
Time to unionize.
Honestly didn't know he had a cameraman.
He didn't lose a sock, he found one!
Us Americans over here scoffing at other countries when we are just getting the bare minimum lol

I see what you did there 🤣
first time I see the bios switch in a place where I don't need to open my case to use it... love it
What a stylish card and it looks really good in that black and white build
Agreed, the black and white aesthetic is so nice
those red envelopes as what you called it @4:54 are called red packets/hong pau ,they are used to gift money on special occasions such as weddings, and birthdays and chinese new year (more info on google though).
My boy is uncultured
I am pretty sure those are gift envelopes for giving money on Chinese New Year.
Nice, I didn't even get a case-badge when I bought my Rog Strix card for too much money.... It's the little things in life really.
I sure wish that big box games would make a comeback, I so miss pre-order games that came with a t-shirt, book, action figure, etc.
So pretty, but just the card and the screens would’ve been worth it. Everything else should’ve been an option.

I love the white theme of the card, my card is the only thing not white in my rig 😢
damn it's so much pricier in the US! here in malaysia, most stores i see sells it for about RM1700~RM2500 which is about 360$~530$ in USD
That desk pad would be on the wall in my studio.
I`m all in for the mouse pad

I don't know why more PC components don't embrace the white theme. There's CLEARLY demand for it.

When I first saw the red packets I legitimately thought it was a pack of GPU condoms.
I've never known anybody to put a potted plant atop their PC.....
I think that screen would have looked good sitting under the graphics card inside the case
Colorful makes great cards! I used to have a 1070ti Vulcan U that served me well for many years!
This card would pair nicely with a white msi board, going with a full dragon theme.
Looking forward to the next video :D

Hey Greg super nice card, but kinda a moot point since they are virtually unattainable in the US. Thanks for sharing it with us.
