Beautiful suit..you're right about resources or the lack thereof. Looks totally great, especially the bias tape trim to finish the seams. Lining is pretty too. Thanks...
You're bringing mens self tailoring into the 21st century. Love your skeleton lining with bound seams. I see you use a domestic machine in your sew-along, but do you have an industrial? So much easier and quicker. Love your work.
What projects did you do before the suit that helped your technique? Beginner here 😬 Heading to sew it academy next but want to make sure I also have those skills ready 😄
Wow!! I'm wishing you & your wife great success!! Apparently, dope men are smart too because they save oodles of money will looking good. And, I say this as someone who's old enough to be your mom or grandma. Keep up the good work and stay healthy and strong. You TRULY represent the best use of youtube.
I commend you for making the blazer. You have a lot of puckering at the center back and side seams. Wool canvas will give it some stiffness at the front areas. Also if you have an existing blazer from any major designer that makes menswear it is great to use those garments as a reference on blazer construction 🚧 😉. Keep up the videos and the good work 👍
You da man. I'm gonna join sew it academy just for this. I've made your suit coat pattern for my son. Loved how it sewed up. I'm looking forward to getting some tailoring techniques for the structure of the jacket. Is there a tutorial on sew it academy for making hand made button holes? TIA
Hey Norris Danta I like your videos and this jacket looks dope , I need to buy suit patterns now I don't know where I can get them from till have watched this video, so how can I get to you ?🙂
Yo Norris Ive been a fanof u and Mimi since day one. U guys are the bomb.com 4real. Im so loving this jacket. Im ready tp join the academy. Count me in Bro. Love u guys to life
So I’m wanting to try to sew a velvet suit jacket for my husband. I’ve never sewn any mens clothing before, much less out of velvet. I was wondering if you can tell me if I need to do anything special or add any layers or anything to make the velvet less… floppy? If that makes sense?
You probably want to look into interlining or interfacing the velvet. So that's either adding a layer of a stiffer fabric and treating the velvet and interlining as one or adding iron-on interfacing to all or most of the pieces.
Good overview and great jacket. It would be cool if we could just purchase a sew along video of this instead of having to subscribe to The Sewing Academy to get access to it.

Beautiful jacket, thanks for the review. I love that you promote slow fashion for men, and I want to start sewing some men's clothes myself.
