I'm also doing a rebuild/upgrade of the crossovers in my Klipsch Cornwall IV using the same method as what you've done here. Minus the Cardas wiring. I'm using Straightwire Octave 3 for the internal cabinet wiring. I've mounted the Caps on the bottom side of the factory PCB and the Inductors on the top side. Excellent Video and some fine workmanship by yourself here.
Thank you, I took that approach as well during my initial upgrade of the factory crossover boards, I mounted the HF capacitor on the reverse side of the board due to space restrictions on the top side of the board.
Hi there i have the same just wondering what that component is on the heatsink i see that it has been replaced and the circuit board was that custom made for you or can this be bought separately, many thanks great video.
@@familiarfreaks5028 Yes interested if they could do that. I am in New Zealand and dont know of anyone here that could do that. I also have paired myne with two Bowers and Wilkins DB3D subs with sound amazing for a compact sub.
So a friend of mine is giving me a pair of these speakers. Story goes he shipped them from Pennsylvania to Utah via UPS when they arrived the driver slide them off the truck from the bottom laying flat and the top end slammed on to the ground. Who know how else they were handled along the trip. When they unboxed them one speakers tweeter was broken the other speaker looks ok. He said they wired them up and they (I have yet to hear them) sound like Sh*t. So hes buying new ones and giving me these one's. I going to mess with them open things up a visually inspect them. My question is if I have more question would you help guide me? Leslie
I cant offer to help you with your troubleshooting but there are facebook B&W groups with thousands of members from all over the world that would be more than willing to offer suggestions to any questions that you may have. They really are great tech support groups.
My respects! Great job. Top level. I have made an intermediate upgrade to my speakers so far, but the result is already better. I can imagine how much better in your case. What did you do with the low-frequency crossover section?
Hello, the only update to the LF crossover that I've done is run the same Cardas Litz internal wire from the terminal to the crossover board (same as I did on the MF/HF board) .... I have not performed any component updates or modifications to the LF crossover. I dont believe that there is much to be gained with those mods. ..but if I did.. I would like to replace the resistor to a Mundorf foil type and also replace the coils to a Mundorf foil type as well. I cannot find a film cap with the same value that is not extremely large (too large) in size. So I've contemplated if I did go forward with the LF mods of running two film capacitors (smaller sized and smaller UF rating) parallel to each other to match the original UF spec.
Quick question, I have the 703 S2, it seems that I am able to rotate the midrange with my hands, is that normal? At first I thought it was just one speaker, but I was able to with both of my left and right speaker

Amazing video!!! It makes me want to contact Danny at GR Research to build something like this for my 702 S2s.
Ультимативный апгрейд. Ленточные индуктивности - высшая лига.
Please, could you share the schematik and the part list. Many people are realy interested in building the own best crossover! Thank you very much
Impressive, might give this a try if I didn't have two left hands with this kind of work.
Nice i am already blown away with my 702 s2 as their is, driven by Hegel h190 i feel i am in music heaven
Yes, hegel and the 702's make a brilliant combination. Enjoy!

Hello, the component with the larger heatsink is the Mundorf Ultra copper foil resistor.

I would be interested as well. Either as a diy or custom built. Thx.

I'd love to do this to my 683s. I might have to look into this. Any suggestions?
How can i order? Usinh 702 s2 with benchmark ahb2 monoblocks

Possible to post some audio clips? I know it probably wont do any justtification, but would like to still hear it.
Ive tried to get a good recording over the past few weeks. i just dont have the right (good) software or recording equipment.
@@familiarfreaks5028 approximately how much did it cost you for the crossover upgrade?
Will you build the same crossover for someone

did you change the value of the protection resistor? what is the current number already insatlled?
The original resistor is a 1R500. It was replaced with the same in the Mundorf Ultra
Wow, awesome !
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi. What kind of screw driver is needed to take off the black coned speakers? Thanks for any help...
Hello, its a 3mm Hex
Quick question, I have the 703 S2, it seems that I am able to rotate the midrange with my hands, is that normal? At first I thought it was just one speaker, but I was able to with both of my left and right speaker
Yes thats normal. Dont rotate the driver as it will bind the wires from the mid driver going thru the chassis and to the crossover.
Wow. Where can I get those crossovers?
They are custom made. I had the PCB made locally and I purchased each component and assembled the crossovers.
@@familiarfreaks5028 wow. Do you have the schematic for the crossover?
Please show the schematik of the your updated crossover
Any chance you can send part number for upgrade
