Thanks for helping the bees. I wish my Almond farmer would do that. 2023 with all the rain hurt the growers and the beekeepers. The farmers kept the bees long after the main bloom was gone hoping to get that last stray blossom pollinated. In the meantime my bees were starving. The orchards were too wet to get trucks in to feed them. I hand carried feed in every week and still lost a few hives.
I'd suggest adding in at least 1 plant species that's heavy on production of pollen so the bees can expand their numbers. Another thing many will not know is the specific species that you put into the cover crop, so you should mention each species you put in the seed mix.
Here in Holland we plant flowers in between tree orchards for bees and others to get rid of nasty bugs and lice. They also spray with garlic instead of chemical
Do you have to water the cover crop? I just see drip on the trees. I’m in Lodi, and planting a small fruit orchard. We plan to use cover crops in the alley as well but I’m not sure if we need to plan to water the alleys as well as the trees. Thank you and great content!
My best friend up at Rose Oklahoma raises turkeys for Cargill he has five turkey houses that are 30 x 600 how much different is it raising turkeys compared to chickens in your opinion I already know his. His dad started out raising chickens and then they changed over to turkeys probably 40 years ago.

When we seed our low lands, waterways, and some outside rounds, we usually plant Alsike Clover. The honey bees love that stuff.
