What Mr.Brooks has been showing through this entire trial is his inability to control himself, and his anger. I think we can all see exactly why he plowed through that parade. He was angry, and wouldn’t control himself…not couldn’t control himself, WOULDN’T control himself! He has shown blatant disrespect for everyone….all he cares about is himself. The ONLY reason he shows any emotion through this trial is because he got caught, and he knows there’s no way out of this one. How does it impact the validity of the MULIPLE videos of him committing the crime and MULTIPLE eye witness testimonies? This is simply his way to abuse Erica one more time. He has no defense. It doesn't. But it fits to his pattern. Many of his questions, on cross and direct, since this trial has started have had no to little bearing on what he is accused of. Many of those few questions that are relevant just end up supporting the charges against him.

Since when do Defendants get a right to emotionally abuse their "prior" domestic violence victims in the court room just for personal pleasure? The stuff he wants to throw out at her has nothing to do with his current case and this trial.. The state should issue her a public defender to be able to object to questions that have no relevance. I see the prosecution may not object to most of them because it does not hurt or help their case at all, but the questions may harm the victim/witness emotionally and no one else seems to care. The questions are not helping his case at all, all they are doing is rubbing his ego.
I personally feel that a misunderstanding of the Law.
It's illegal to practice law without a license.
The law also says one can represent themselves and confront their accuser.
However it does not say they have a right to question their accuser.
The law also states that the state has an obligation to protect the witnesses.
The defendant could just as easily be made to write down the question and co-counsel could ask the victims questions.
This would be in accordance with all laws. Not just some.

He also used the SUV to run her over at a gas station but that was a prior day, case and trial. He is just trying to abuse her and the courts and state are letting it continue. Erika is still in touch with him. She sends letters and photos to him in prison. Her 15 year old daughter in Ga, just gave birth to a baby boy. Where is Ericka for her daughter? Nowhere she is to busy going after Darrell. Ericka should get her life in order she is 30 years old and has wasted her life. I don't think she will ever change. She is not to bright and it's late in the game for her to change.

The judge shouldn’t have even allow DB to re question Erika Patterson on the crap he had asked her at length during his cross examination of her during the states case! Not one question brought new information but the judge never shut it down until the picture incident.
I love this Judge but there were a few times she definitely dropped the ball. I truly think Brooks had her frazzled. Same for the DA. There were a lot of times objections should’ve been made and it’s like they just didn’t hear what was being said.

There has to be a better, more definitive way for courts to handle unruly, disrespectful, threatening, and childish behavior during sessions. And the Prosecutors had estimated their case would take at least 5-7 days. That would be a week. Then the defense is allowed their time. The most this idiot wasted in time. I’ll say 2-3 days. I believe this trial actually ran 18 days. Not including the 2 sentencing days. 🙄🙄🙄

It’s because DB and the prosecution both have the same evidence. Every photo, video, document etc. they each have the same stuff. DB tried to bring in items (pictures) to use as new evidence that the state has never seen and don’t have. The judge would not allow it because it is improper to do that. The state can’t refute evidence they’ve never even seen before. And he was pissy because he wasn’t getting his way. So he started claiming that his “new evidence” threw the prosecution for a loop and that they were scared of it and that’s why she wasn’t allowing it in. He’s a moron who doesn’t understand how this process works. He went on to try and claim that the prosecution was allowed to bring in new evidence that he didn’t have when they played his music video. He’s too stupid to understand that he has that footage in those boxes on his table. He just hasn’t looked through any of it. He doesn’t get that he has the same stuff they have and any of that stuff can be made an exhibit (shown to the jury) at any time if it’s relevant to what’s being discussed with witnesses.
