Why do people hate Meganium so much? I had one in SoulSilver and it was great - very strong, very fast and very reliable. It's literally a grass dinosaur - that makes it somewhat cool.

Why do I hate it so much? Simply, I always chose the grass starter, no matter if I like it or not. Therefore I've never played X&Y. He's ugly, four times weak to flying which is my greatest enemy (most of my favourite mons are weak to flying ex: Shedinja, Decidueye in both forms, Iron Valiant, Annihilape, Hisuian Lilligant, Sceptile) and, the worst part of all, his prevolution, Chespin, is the only starter that isn't primarily green and doesn't look good (Rowlet looks amazing, you say otherwise, I do the killing)

I don't hate Meganium at all but I just like Feraligatr the most out of the Johto starters and I picked Meganium as my starter for Crystal (I don't have Heartgold or Soulsilver) and its level up moveset in gen 2 is not good but if I di get Heartgold or Soulsilver or both I will give Meganium another go
in radical red (fire red rom hack) they gave meganium the absolute justice it deserves.... not only it gain an additional fairy typing but also got the most broken hidden ability called triage instead of leaf guard
To be honest I don’t outright dislike any fully evolved Pokemon starter. I mean the weakest one to me is Delphox & even i just find it okay and I don’t hate it like so many others do.
Mewoscarda is actually op with the moves it can learn and it’s grass dark typing and it’s signature move always crits i taught mines acrobatics and play rough for coverage
If you call yourself a true pokemon player, the most obvious thing to consider is the stats, abilities, typing, movepool and usefulness. Fuck the design, who cares if a pokemon looks like shit if it can annihilate your opponent's team like hot knife through butter.
