- In his decade long Cup career Brad Keselowski has quickly become one of the most polarizing drivers, wearing his emotions on his sleeve for the world to see. Opinionated and aggressive, he is one of the most entertaining drivers in NASCAR. In 2014 he mixed all of these with some of his best statistical points as well as ruffling feathers along the way. This is the story of Brad Keselowski’s 2014 season.

The salt from angry Gordon fans is just as good as I thought it’d be.
Lol
But can you blame them. Brad raced like an absolute dickhead in the chase for that year.
I was hoping you made this video for the salty reactions
@@rcracer8872 next time a driver can take out another driver with a ar-15 to the head
@@rcracer8872 yeah "rubbing" is racing not door slamming
If Brad had won that year, all the Gordon fans would have destroyed him.
Now your making me wish Keselowski had won
Kevin Harvick really pushes BK into the fight and dipped lmaoooo
It was great LOL
No thats Harvick pulling Brad back by the head mid fight. Thats cheap as fuck after he shoved him into it.
@@andrewbokal9918 guy that pulled him back at 10:26 is clearly wearing a gordon hat...
Andrew Bokal what!!?? That’s someone in a Jeff Gordon hat obviously 😂😂
That pass Brad did at Chicagoland was like, something you would see out of Days of Thunder... maybe
2014 rules package had the best racing in the post COT era (2013-present).
@@PackBrewBadgeWI4 2019 is pretty
I still love that Kevin Harvick really started the fight at Texas when he comes in and pushes Brad from behind 😂
Brad Keseowskis 2014 season was like a real life greek tragedy.

🐐
Menard wasn’t an awful driver, he was serviceable, not incredible but enough too win one race
That Chicagoland race in 2014 was Amazing, especially the last 20 laps!!!
2014 should have been Brad's 2nd Championship. That year bothers me more then his 2016 Chase.
I believe so too, Brad's cars were awesome in 2014 but he wasted energy getting into feuds which he didn't do in 2012.
After BFM made Bad Seasons: Keselowski 2013, I was really hoping someone would do something like this for his 2014 season.
I am so glad to see this come to fruition. Thank you, my guy.
Nope, Jeff should have won in 2014. Stfu

How did Ryan Newman make the final 4 but not Jeff, Dale, or Brad?
Newman was being Newman, taking advantage of other people's misfortunes
the format is broken and shit, and consistency doesn't matter to this shit format
Because Newman is at his best when he's just in range of success.
@@321gofast7 he still did not deserve getting into the "final 4". Completely BS. Imagine if he actually won the 2014 title tho. That would be complete bullshit and unfair because of how broken the shit format is.
@@IanTheMotorsportsMan_YT funny, thing is Newman made it in via points. 0 wins all season for Newman
Brad Keselowski's 2014 season imploded during the playoffs
I still feel like it was Gordon's missing ring the most for this year.
Awesome video, keep them coming!
Nice video Dale Jarrett missing ring 1997, Carl Edwards missing ring 2008, and Jimmie Johnson missing ring 2012.
Missing Rings: Mark Martin 1990

Missing Rings: Jeff Gordon 2004
Missing Rings: Sam Hornish Jr 2013
Missing Rings: Erik Jones 2016
Missing Rings: Elliott Sadler 2017
Missing Rings: Christopher Bell 2018
If it weren't for a horrible month of May where DJ's engines could do no right, Jarrett would have been 1997 champ. And Richard Childress I think rigged the 1990 title against Mark, and still believe it.
Just based off his attitude in 2014, I don't think he deserved it. It was Keselowski vs. everybody
Fish Productions you can’t say off someone’s attitude if they don’t deserve a championship or not.
Nobody deserves anything in sports, you earn everything. Just what I think...
News Flash: Nobody Deserves Anything in NASCAR! They have to Earn it because Earn > Deserve.
Joey Logano's 2015 run is definitely that too. Although both men have matured mightily.
Well... its racing so yeah it kind of is you vs everybody else... its not exactly a "team" sport
Even as much as I am a Gordon fan and (at the time) absolutely despised Keselowski, I could have told you that Newman and Logano's Final 4 spots really were for Gordon and Keselowski. I agree that this season for him was really strong and could have and should have landed him in the Final 4, Harvick was still the big obstacle he would have had to overcome because Harvick was on a whole other level this year, particularly in the 2nd half of the season
Man you do such a good job on these videos.
Omg yes this is epic. Thanks for the recollection best chase ever loved the hate they let it flow through them they felt the dark aide 🤣
Absolutely love these
Glad this one was made. Really good year 2014 was, with so many drivers that I think would of been good champions that season, like Brad, Harvick, Hamlin, Gordon and Jr. Was a really good , and bad/controversial year for Keselowski. Kinda like Rusty Wallace 1989. Everyone did kinda hate him, glad that's kinda died down over the years. Great video and good content really enjoyed!
Missing Rings: Kyle Busch 2018
Won so many races(without getting DQ'd like Harvick) and lead the points for most the year
Awesome videos the iceberg!
Amazing year, amazing package, amazing racing, and shitty points format.
Also, Keselowski was the punching bag of 2014 because of his actions. Actually, I think Penske in general was the punching bag from 2013-2015. Logano was also the punching bag alongside with Keselowski. Damn, I still remember when they were punching bags.
Anyway, I remember the Keselowski/Gordon issues from Texas. I hated Keselowski after he cost Gordon the title. I gained respect on Keselowski again after he wasn't like his 2014 self again and his personality was super nice and was very helpful and giving to fans. Anyone needs to realize that Brian France did this shitty points format to have "more drama" and forcing to "spice things up". Very sad that he wanted drivers to kill each other with this shitty format. I hope the elimination format is gone for good and same with stage racing.
IanPerez48 take out amazing package and put it shitty package
@@joseph7019 2013, 2014, and 2016 were the good packages. 2015 and 2019 are garbage. 2017 was decent, 2018 was half okay, but meh
@@IanTheMotorsportsMan_YT The 2019 package is pretty good. Superspeedways & 1.5 milers have improved. But the big flat tracks still suck. But they should just bring back the 2014 package. It wouldn't hurt to have one more year of the engines at full 900hp before the engines change in around 5 or so years
@@DepravedCoTApologist the 2019 is only "good" when it comes to starts and restarts. Not only it's trying to force good races, but it's just garbage in general. You can pass anyone from last to 2nd, but you can't go by the leader. It's that bad, man. Also, the problem with the Gen 6 was that they always change it every year and the Aeroness was the issue. It was too aero-dependant. However, Steve O'Donnell's dumbass thought that the horsepowers were the issue, saw the 2018 All-Star Race, and was like "yep, we got ourselves the 2019 package!" Honestly, I would be fine if the package was only for the All-Star Race. Also, the 2019 package is only good at Daytona and Talladega. The 2019 package is so bad, even the Xfinity cars are faster than the Cup cars. Honestly, the Gen 6 is garbage. Yes, the drivers and old fans hated the COT, but at least they never made pointless changes seasonally. The Gen 6 is a mistake and will always be garbage. The only good years of the Gen 6 were 2013, 2014, and 2016. I LOVE that ARCA series, but they have been crap because of the Gen 6 bodies they run now. So basically, the Gen 6 is crap. (my opinion, of course)
@@IanTheMotorsportsMan_YT I agree with NASCAR constantly changing the car has hurt it. I feel like the Gen 6 has never had any time to become it's own thing. You can get good racing with the car, but they never build on it. And yeah, Steve O'Donnell is a dumbass. I like Steve Phelps, he's pretty good (mostly), but O'Donnell needs to go. He reminds me too much of the old guard under the Brian France regime. For every good thing Phelps says, O'Donnell says something stupid in return
I still love the guy in the background screaming "Turn em loose" during the Kenseth/Keselowski fight.
And the guy screaming "Beat His Ass" during the Gordon/Keselowski ordeal.
Badass brad deserves to be a 2 time champion
2014 was probably the best playoffs I have ever seen in Nascar.
2014’s racing was so good
I never knew you were going to make a missing rings Brad K I mean he had a good 2014 season winning 6 races.
To be Brutally Honest,I'm glad he didn't win in 2014 That was Jeff Gordon's year to win as well.
IN the fight all I hear is "BEAT HIS ASS!!!!!!"
0:39 you had to remind me (Easily the saddest race i have watched). Let my nightmares begin (Again)
1:46 Aw memories
I think it's clear who i supported 2012-2017
Gordon came down on him. Lol.
Unpopular opinion: Keselowski did nothing wrong at Texas, Gordon left a hole and Keselowski filled it. If that happened KB not a single soul would’ve been mad. Shows the hypocrisy in NASCAR fans nowadays
I agree. Was it really aggressive? Yes. Was it illegal? No. With how crazy the restarts are now, then Gordon would be mad every week at everybody. If any other driver in the Chase was there except maybe Edwards people could care less. But it was Gordon, & if anything happens to Gordon, then the other person is automatically at fault regardless. It's the same thing with Bowyer at Phoenix in my opinion. NASCAR fans have every right to get mad at when something happens to their driver, but they definitely are not objective at all with incidents and stuff
Exactly. it was Gordon's spotter's job to let him know Brad got a great restart and was going to go for the win.
It never should have happened because Jeff should have picked the inside lane on the restart.
At the time I was like "god I hate Keselowski" but about 18 months after I honestly thought "No, that was racing and Gordon being a baby."
God I love that season
This is already interesting
Gordon, Kenseth, Kurt Busch, Hamlin, Stewart, Harvick
Keselowski made an enemy out of everybody in 2014
Missing Rings
Ricky Craven 1994
Craven finished just 46 points behind champion David Green in a season where he had 2 wins, 16 top tens, and 8 top fives, with an average finish of 12.0.
I didn’t include the 1993 season despite his runner up finish because Steve Grissom ran away with the championship, finishing 253 points ahead.
Jeff Green 2001
Green had just come off his 2000 championship and was the favorite to win the title again. He took the points lead around mid season but a terrible stretch of four races and fell 302 points behind Kevin Harvick. He bit a 180 point chunk out of Harvick’s lead but failed to seal the deal, finishing 142 points behind in second. Green had 4 wins, 16 top fives, 26 top tens, and an average finish of 10.36.
Stewart slamming it in reverse and ramming Brad is one of my favorite Stewart moments
2014 was such a mess during the Chase with how artificial the format made everything felt. People did what they needed to but it was all an absolute mess. Both Gordon and Keselowski should've been racing for the Cup at Homestead and they likely would've under the current format.
Is this when his team was doing those unapproved body mods? That was wild
Top 10 anime fights
To me, this was the ultimate throwaway season; Brad's cars were even faster in 2014 than they were in 2012. He should have had no problem charging to the title, but he wasted that energy getting into feuds with Kurt Busch, Kenseth and Hamlin rather than taking said energy and focusing on the championship, which was the approach Brad DID take two years prior and it won him the title.
Brad had some races in 2014 where it was like Harvick like. Where he would absolutely dominate and win.

As a Gordon fan 2014 is the year that Brad took our championship
Damn right.
He took himself out across Brad's hood

You might as well do everyone but Kevin Harvick that year. We knew he was gonna be NASCAR's 'it' guy that year when he was the one who instigated that stupid Texas fight that Jeff Gordon fell for hook, line, & sinker.
Why else would Kevin Harvick be the first of 2 people in NASCAR to get the nickname "The Instigator?"

If anyone deserved it in 2014, it was Jeff Gordon. Kes had a great year, but Gordon was in his late 90's form that year

Funny to think that with the current playoff points seeding, he and Gordon would’ve probably cruised to Homestead.

Nah, Brad managed to piss off almost everyone on the grid that year.

I honestly dont get why people give Brad Shit for trying to make that pass at Texas, yes he obviously didn't mean to cut Jeff's tire but he needed to win and there was a hold there. If he doesn't try that theres no way he wins, and the goal of everyone is to win so he almost had to do that in my opinion
Even Jeff Gordon himself looking back said he understood why Brad Keselowski did what he did.

Why do people think Keselowski did something wrong at Texas
9:19
You can CLEARLY see that Gordon hit Keselowski, and even then Ayrton Senna (yes that Ayrton Senna) said if you go for a gap that no longer exists you are not a a racing driver, Keselowski went for a gap that looked big enough to fit his Ford, and Gordon came down on him, Gordon hit Keselowski simple as that
I don't think we've ever see someone throw away a championship for acting like a complete clown like Keselowski did that year.
He may have missed the Chase in 2013, but 2014 has to be the biggest low point in Brad's Cup career.

Yeah, Gordon, Harvick and Kenseth were fighting for the championship, but so was Brad, and he did better than those three. So, yeah.
Harvick shoves brad and starts a brawl. Brad and gordon penalized. Harvick wins title..... golden boys always win in nascar. Bill france would be ashamed
Keselowski rocked the NASCAR establishment and exposed Gordon as a crybaby who can't handle a little hard racing
So glad he didn't win it

Nothing ruin championship hopes other than this stupid format that still exist to this day. Better off just all season long in points or 2011-13 Chase format.

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy and a more irresponsible driver. Loved seeing Gordon teach him a lesson on pit road at Texas!
Its was texas
Aaron McKinsey yep you are right
Yes because if anybody else was in that situation to go for the win they wouldnt do exactly the same thing. Where else was he going to go? Rear end Johnson and have him launch Gordon into the outside wall or sit tight behind Johnson and just let his title hopes die in front of him? Its not irresponsible its called aggressive driving. You gotta take risks to win, and he went for it.
Andrew Bokal yeah and then got his ass kicked. You behind Johnson or Gordon until one of them passes each other smile as that. Brad K drives like an idiot
