Pay Attention To The Road

- We had a couple recoveries we took the LJ on. Both recoveries I was given incorrect data about the situation. First I was told a minivan was stuck in the bar ditch, so we assumed with it being light it would be no problem. Then we showed up to a very overload minivan... But we got it. Then we were told that a Nissan Pickup had slid off the road on Long Canyon, we were never told it was on its side. Had to get creative but got it back on its wheels and pulled out. Unfortunately the customer started it and pulled oil into the intake so it had to go to a shop and have the plugs pulled. Then he was able to continue on. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

One minute you're on the road looking at the scenery, and the next minute you're in the scenery looking at the road.
happened to me on a motorcycle motorcycle once
👍👍 well said. 😊
Yes !!!
Off roading is something you lurn from real off roders you go with and lurn how and what you can and can't do !!!! Experience little bye little and wate up hi is bad for rollovers and never go alone and don't take your eyes off the road if you want to look around stop and get out and look !!!!!
Sometimes the windshield Sometimes the bug😅😊
Trailmater Offroad Recovery is one of the best channels on RUclips. How this channel doesn't have 1M plus subscribers is beyond me. Thank you for giving me numerous ideas for fabrication, recovery sequencing, stewardship, advocacy, and education. Thanks for all you do!
I'm surprised they don't have 5-10 million or more!
I agree 1000%
I Agree by what you say, he is the best at what he does, but, he lacks charisma. Don' t mean to offend, but what else could it be?
@@raultrevino1883 I think the whole crew has great charisma and personality. Hard to figure subscriber rates. My brother & I have a channel as well. Nearly a million views and still lacking watch hours and only 1892 subscribers.
That kid was smokin rocks. 😂
Moon rocks
The arm grab out the drivers window to prevent second rollover was badass
Rory's Arm of Power stopping it from going back over as he backed around it, also Mike's holding it too! Well done guys!
The fabrication and doing more with less on vehicle recoveries are why I watch and learn from this channel. Thanks
"time to do some sketchy stuff, doo-dah doo-dah"....great video. Thanks all
That little jeep is paying for its self 👍 great content thanks for sharing.
It's not heavy enough when people have their rigs packed with gear and have rooftop tents and every accessory they can find.
Loved the quick response, grabbing the vehicle, to keep it from tipping over again. :) great recoveries.
I didn't think you would get that truck out with the jeep. You guys are awesome
Rory can be heard clearly saying don't start it to the fella....For those who don't know, now you hopefully should know that Rory doesn't talk just to talk!!! I appreciate how calm and patient Rory was - I know with my immaturity that I would have been biting my tongue, trying desperately not to say I freaking told you so, dear sir!!! LOL
Your channel is one of the best sources of quality content. Keep on making us happy with your creations!🎧🥳🍷
Patient with the well,.... very patient.. I'm trying to watch every video right now to SMASH THE LIKE BUTTON.
Overlanders... gotta love 'em, they're your new financial stream. 😂
Nice shots in the canyon Mike! 🧡
Matt gives them a T-shirt…the least you could do is poke them in the eye 😎
Paul from Fab rats his transmission gremlin found his way to you guys
By gremlins u mean not knowing how to rebuild a transmission?
I started watching Rory because of MATTs ORR, but now I find myself enjoying this channel more.
Like, I'd crack open some cold snacks with these fellas. 🍻
Rock On Rory........ awesome camera man, Mike.
Those two recoveries, I'm going to restrain myself. If not for the grace of God,
those two recoveries, they could of very well had end up being everyday statistics if they
had fouled up else where, where there wasn't something to keep them from going down a cliff. wall....... flat out drove in to that canyon of a hole. the both..
RORY, you and the your guys, You do a service to the Lord getting people out of the fix they get themselves into. for real.......... do ypu see it or don't you see it. a blind man can understand it.
Blessings to you and your guys.
The Lord Be With You.
That little jeep does the job pretty good! It's nimble like a mini swiss army knife.
Look at you. We are not surprised you are in the ditch.
Lol nice of him to set the horn off while Rory's head was right there.
Best recovery channel on the Tube.
Old School Rigging, from the pre-carius period, good stuff

That Grabber Green engine paint is the perfect shade of green. I wish I could find that exact green in regular paint.
That's a badass little TJ, they are all rusting away where I'm at in the rustbelt.
this was a good educational video for service people, Never let the vehicle owner help do anything.
I can binge your vids all day!
Why are there so many half naked bot channels posting compliments on videos these days? 🤣
Rory is a master recovery operator. Driving backwards running the winch at the same time. Sheesh!
Wake and brakerz!! Day!! “O” joy! Don’t smoke the green stuff when you’re up high and are about to come down! Or just wait till you’re back at home or camp! Stay paint side up!! “Clear minds don’t fall off the sides”😂
Great recovery, and the save grabbing the truck out the window
Another great job of using knowledge and experience to solve the problem!
Thank you guys
Rory the Jeep was on the very edge.I was watching from 1000 miles away and still puckered.
I was hoping for one of your awesome videos today, but when I checked there wasn’t 1😢. And then I checked again and there it is! Thank y’all for the awesome content! I have worked in the recovery field myself and love your videos. It’s the closest thing I have to being out there doing it myself.
I wonder what part of "DON'T START IT" wasn't clear? lol
Muscle memory and lots of weed make it hard to follow instructions :D
But he had to put it in neutral. Lol now he has some plugs to pull.
Apparently he didn't know how to put the truck in neutral or release the parking brake as was illustrated by Rory leaning in the window and showing him how to do it.
He had all the cool tats though ... maybe he should have spent some of his tat salon money on driving lessons.
edit: Oh, and the irony of him wearing a t-shirt with "Alpha" emblazoned across the front. 😏
All of it lol
@@userer4579 Right? It's sad how dim and incompetent the youth of America have become over the years! 🤔 🤨 👀 😳 🙄 😒 😞 😔 😢 😕
Woo Hoo a Trailmater vid. 😃
Hi I really like your jeep 🚙 it looks very nice ok love Lorilee xoxoxoxox 🙏 ❤️ 😊 💕 💖 ☺️
First guy was super special
Second Guy: truck is on its side
DON'T START IT!
he starts it
Both of them were high AF!
@@Tom-6502 ok both guys were super special
Reefer Madness! 😮
I've been waiting, another upload from you!
Howdy Trailmater at work will watch soon as I can thanks guys
Moab is no joke !! Evertime i go there I'm scared and have complete respect. Also everytime I go i run into Rory by chance.... 😂
Hi guys great job as always love seeing your shows every time so cool 😎
I am thinking the guy in the Van was Stoned when he went into the ditch ? The Nissan was a little interesting ! Thanks for sharing !
haha, a little wake n bake might have been on his breakfast menu.
15:00 well then tell us about the foliage Mike!
Mike couldn't find any "foliage" because the first RESCUE smoked it all!!!
Wow!!! Two very technical recoveries for a Jeep!
Did that van have a boat anchor? Dammit!😂😂
Our family daily vehicle is a Toyota minivan. The rear suspension is very soft. That Guy had overpacked that vehicle like it was a work truck.
Good to see a recovery, I was beginning to wonder if your channel morphed into events shop repairs and hillbilly madness
I now know where Mike and Rory store their horse shoes. Tricky, Lucky and well done guys.
Mike, You forgot to Blow, Tack and Static! I won't tell Robby!
Rory on the plus side you guys are experts at taking the transmission out of old blue doing it so many times.
Why can't people follow simple instructions?
On the jeep you told the guy to help out but not spin the tires and he did.
Then you had the guy with the truck that didn't know how to put his own vehicle. If you have a vehicle you should know how to drive it.
If he would have followed instructions the sway bar wouldn't have broke.
You have patience and I respect that I am not sure if I could when people don't follow instructions
3:00 I don't think I would put that much faith in that winch line not breaking. That would be a bad day!
I noticed that as well
Adding flammable paint to your fire proof blanket!
I've done it.
😂😆😎
IT'S NOT IN NEUTRAL...😂
Great recoveries guys.
Moral of the story: not paying attention can be very expensive!
I mean when you’re not quite sure where Neutral is maybe you shouldn’t be there. Cool recovery!
I feel the same way with my 42RLE. I have now dropped the pan 3 times to change out solenoid valve and the valve body and my new Mopar parts just arrived today so that I can do it all again this weekend. Oh well, at least I have the whole procedure down to under 2hrs.
"stay", "STAY"!🤣 just like my dog😅
Hopefully he didn't bend a rod or anything when it tried to start on him.
Gotta love all the "convivences" of modern vehicles. Have to have the key on to release the Ebrake or shift gears, and it tries to Crank to Start as soon as you touch the button.
Or you know hit the button without your foot on the brake, then brake and shift into neutral.
Gotta love that LJ!!!
First time I've heard Rory use an emphatic word, good catch sir!
Saw the buggy in person at Trail Hero yesterday. New cage and boner bar delete looks great.
gotta love old square bodies but honestly if it were me dealing with the constant transmission gremlins, i'd likely get tired of the constant pull and rebuild and just throw in a built TH700R4 if i had to have overdrive, or a TH400K with a non-lockup torque converter if i didn't have to have overdrive, though with the supercharged big block in blue, you could probably get away with a diesel torque converter for the lower stall but i'll stop ranting on that topic, it kinda' looks like the transmission gremlin has visited your shop like it did Paul's honestly, the LJ has definitely seemed to be a great investment for small jobs, or oddball jobs, great little rig, stay safe out there guys
Mike you look much better with your new welding helmet, down 😎
Rory, you need a knuckle-head surcharge for guys like these two.
Cell phone Zombies have a built in excuse for EVERYTHING! "I don't know"
OK, I thought for sure you guys would take to heart my recommendation and paint the new part of the cage bright RED! This would have done two things for you . . . 1) it would have shouted that NO, we didn’t run out of paint and have to switch to red, we were real men and chose to and . . . 2) being it’s already October, would have been a pre-empted strike on Holliday Season swifty approaching. But nah, you had to go match the same green to the rest of the cage. 😢
Precisely why my Nissan Frontier is not set up for Overlanding . They have a tendency to fall into holes when thay are.
I wonder if he burned his lap when he dropped the joint....
Great job on that tippy truck
HEY! Hello Rory , Mike and Shawn!!
The TJ looks and works good
Get that yellow jeep a door decal the says. " Rory's Offroad Recovery". Then drive over to Matts😅😅😅
Just a suggestion when painting bare steel, use a can of etching primer and the color will go a long way
Great job again.
Wake and bake is not always a good idea.
Saw the yellow jeep and thought Matt was helping you guys.
Did I miss the buildout video of that Wrangler? One video you just get it and it's stock, the next it's a MACHINE!
DUDE DROPED HIS BREAKFEST ROACH IN HIS LAP is what happened!!!! And these folks are driving around you everyday!!!
DO NOT START the engine. Customer immediately starts the engine.
Every time.
I'm going to watch this while driving.
Any odds on a texting and driving situation? 7:00 AM, shadows showing terrain better than mid-morning. Maybe driving directly into the sunrise, doubtful as that would have been a valid excuse rather than "I was on the road, then I wasn't"..... Text, notice you're drifting, over correct. Better than the other side of the road in this case. Rory: Don't spin the tires.....client: What exactly does that mean?... Rory:😵💫😬
That Nissan was in a tight spot regardless of which vehicle you took. You probably needed the Jeep with is being the most compact rig.
I could have helped Corey and Mike on this one. Once that front wheel was off the ground, I would have put a soft shackle through the wheel or front tow point and used it as a stirrup, got my foot in it, and used my body weight as a counterbalance to keep it from tilting again. Mike ain't got enough meat on his bonez. 🤣🤣
More weight in that mini van than my tow rig!!!! 😂
Oh lord! if that line had snapped "RIP" Rory. Looking back at it I bet your thinking maybe I trusted that line a little too much but maybe not.
pulling the sparkplugs out? good luck as the passenger side plugs are buried below the air intake manifold which has to be removed first...!
I don't think people take time to learn where the edges of their cars are anymore. I see tiny cars in the middle of the road because they don't want to get too close to the edge, when in reality there's about 8 feet to the edge, then I see people that fall into things when they had plenty of space to go around. All one has to do is adjust their side mirrors to see where their rear tires are in relation to the edge of the road. Most mirrors are adjusted too high. Too many people depend on the exterior cameras which will get you into a lot of trouble. People have lost the art of driving. Rory shows us here that with skill and watching, one can drive right on the edge. You can't be looking at the scenery.
You KNOW, for all you tourist out there on the road trying to" losen the load," "if you dont listen to what (RORY) said , YOU TOO COULD A PERSONAL VISIT FROM GOD( RORY IN HIS ELEMENT WHO IS ON A MISSION FROM GOD TO RESCUE YOU)IF YOU DIDNT DIE... SO FEEL BLESSED HE CAME AND GOT YOU AND NOT THE OTHER GUY!
Good catch on that truck haha!!!!
I think that it would have been safer for others on the roads if the driver of the truck and the van had their vehicles left in the ditches.
At least you have the correct equipment equipment to change out the groundhog transmission
Poor Rory…. “Put it in neutral”…. Wipers go on
Justice for Jeeps and Apex 12,000 lb winches...and oh Rory for sure!😂
LETS GO RORY!
Seems like you caught The Fab Rats Transmission flu 😂
Good one 😊
Hey Mike You spraying the same as Robby layton hahah greets from Holland
And in the next video, you could do a break down video of how to pull the transmission out of blue. Since you’ll be doing it anyway
