Guys it’s obviously meant to not look that great. Throughout the movie, characters are actively hating on it, Miles says it’s his first time. And plus the suit got destroyed. It’s definitely set up for a better suit in the next movie. It’s also prolly symbolic for Miles not trying to be like the other spider man, so he’ll make a new suit from scratch this time that doesn’t resemble the others.

Kraven says in the boss fight prior to Peter "You're still holding back..." If he was still holding back against Kraven, whom he has reason to be angry against since he hurt and captured MIles, then he's definitely trying his best to hold back while the symbiote enrages him in his fight against Miles. Miles is a friend to him, a student to him and even more so a little brother to him. He'd be trying his hardest to fight against the urges of the Symbiote at that point. This fight wasn't a 1v1, it was a 2v1. Miles and Peter vs the Symbiote in disguise.
Y’all remember when the Symbiote could go Camouflage actually the Symbiote has so many darn abilities yet they always find a way to nerf it in each iteration

It should come on automatically, but go into settings, visual, screen effects and you should see film style animation and comic SFX.
You also need to get one of the spider-verse suits to unlock it in settings.
