FOOD TOUR IN BANGKOK, THAILAND (CHEAPEST FOOD EVER)

- We love food and one of the best parts about traveling is being able to try foods you haven't tried before. That is exactly what we do in this video. We start off at Terminal 21. We are left in shock at how inexpensive and delicious the food is. We try some Thailand favorites like the papaya salad and mango sticky rice. After Terminal 21, we head to Chinatown for a more authentic, street food experience. Here we try a variety of foods, but we're not fans of everything we try.

Lovely video as always! The lemongrass and kaffir leaves in Tom Yum are there for flavor, you are not supposed to eat them. But can't blame you, my husband did the same :)
When Zae had the soup, we were confused and asked the waitress if they’re supposed to be eaten or not and she said yes, but there may have been a misunderstanding or communication barrier 😂
@@AttilaAndZae lemongrass you can actually eat but only the bulb end (you may have to first remove 2 or so cylindrical outer layers to reveal the tender insides) very thinly sliced/finely chopped/pounded/blended; the top stringy tough leafy cylindrical stalk end is usually only there for flavoring; anything more than 1-2mm slices are usually not edible as they would be too tough.
thinly cut crispy fried kafir lime leaves are very fragrant and delicious. personally i even eat kafir leaves whole; not nearly as tough as lemongrass leaves/stalks - love the fragrance and flavor.
I always value vloggers sharing their most honest, personal views instead of following the crowd blindly. Tks, I'm coming to Bangkok next month to try it.
Thank you, we’re happy to hear you enjoyed the vlog and we always keep it honest on this channel 🙏🏼
Glad to see u guys tried the food court at Terminal 21:) I always stop by there every time I visit BKK. I also recommend u guys should check out Jodd Fairs night market (used to be known as Train night market). This place basically has everything, cheap street foods, bar with live music, shopping, etc. Lots of locals hang out here. It gets very lively & great atmosphere at night. I think it’s much better than Chinatown. Really enjoy watching your vids, keep up the great work!👍🏻
Thanks for all the tips! We went to this market you’re suggesting yesterday but did not vlog it. It was really nice, we enjoyed it a lot!
Really enjoyed that vlog. Love your honesty. Never thought about eating in terminal 21 before, will definitely try it now. Many thanks for the recommendation...
Thanks so much Martin. We would definitely recommend Terminal 21!
Been following you guys for sometime now! :) awesome content as always!
Too bad I’ve missed out when you were in Singapore. Would love to show you two around for some great food!
Thank you so much for watching 🙏🏽 we were not in Singapore long only a week. It’s hard to travel there as budget travellers 😅
Lying in bed watching your video before getting some shuteye but now I'm wide awake, hungry and my mouth is watering from all the food you guys tried. Can't wait for the next one. Thanks!
Hmmm... mouthwatering! Thanks for trying out all the more or even less delicious things and for being honest with your comments 😜😉
We try not to complain at all in our videos, but we do have to be honest 😆
Love y’all videos, one of my favorite channels
Thanks so much Lam, that really means a lot. We’re still ironing some kinks out and trying to improve 😊 🙏🏼
I can’t wait to visit there again. Love seeing the video. ❤️
We love Bangkok and will most likely come back one day 😊
Haha mystery desert taco 🌮 “My rating just went up “😂 Brutal honesty with the meatballs, I like that 👌🏽
We love trying all the new foods, but it doesn’t always work out in our favour 😂
BIG THUMBS UP Atilla & Zae 👍 The energy and positivity the two of you share is so infectious! Thank you for sharing your adventures and LOVE FOR LIFE ❤️ Dr. D
Thank you so much Dr. Dinardo! We hope all is well in Canada. 🙏❤🙏
LOOKS ALL SOOOO GOOD!
Welcome To Thailand the paradise and the second home for all visitor !!!
You couldn’t have said it any better.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful video n your food tour in Bangkok. D food in d malls n on d street all over southeast asian countries r great.
SEA has some incredible foods all over and we love it.
@@AttilaAndZae Wonderful. 🙂
Yummy!
4 things:
1. Great video, if you don’t like the food, just be honest. Nothing wrong with that.
2. It is never ok to follow the word literally with the word probably. 😂
3. Zae reminds me of my girlfriend when we’re walking in tight spaces with lots of passers by but she insists on standing next to me for 2 seconds before she has to move to the rear to let someone past before doing it all over again. It’s cute.
4. I think you’re right with the lemon grass in Tom Yum. I just like to chew it slightly to get the flavour out but I don’t think it’s meant to be eaten. Tom Yum is my favourite Thai dish.
Haha🙏 thank you for all the kind words! We don't say we don't like something unless we REALLY don't like it. As for Zae's vocabulary, she knows she needs to work on that lol. 😂
@@AttilaAndZae one word wrong out of a whole dictionary…not much room for improvement. 🤙

Thank you so much ☺️ We’re super happy to hear that you enjoyed it!
You shld have tried chung dumplings in malaysia. Taste yummy. A bit salty though. Yes need to eat it warm.
We’ll definitely give them a try on our next trip to Malaysia 🇲🇾 💯
For the people who don’t like spicy dish, try Pad See Eww- stir fried Noodles or RadNaa the stir fried noodles with kael sauce or fried rice
We'll have to try these out!
Wow, really lovely video.
I would also recommend to go to:
1. Soi11 at Sukhumvit for the Vegetarian Restaurant: Dosa King
2. Soi19 at Sukhumvit (next to Terminal 21 Mall) for the Argentinian Steak house: El Gaucho.
3. There is also a Mark Weins Restaurant: Phed Mark, just 4 mins walk from Ekkamai BTS Station.
Stay Safe, Eat Healthy and Don't worry, you guys are making these really informative for all of us.
Cheers and e-peace...
Thank you so much Anand, we’re really happy to hear that you enjoyed the video and we greatly appreciate all of your suggestions. If we’ve got spare time, we will most definitely check them out 😊
Wow i just felt that im in thailand as well. Tq for sharing. With us out of thailand whats the goods in thailand
Thailand is incredible!!
Great video! I am sorry, I don't know the name of the woman but there is something about her. That aura. She definitely brings something other RUclipsrs don't.
Thank you so much! She’s definitely very special 😊
Enjoy eating
We loved it, thank you 🙏🏼 😊
love the food 😋😋😋
Thank you 😋
You both should try the food court (in the basement) at ICON SIAM.
We actually did visit the ICON and the food court there looked incredible 😊
The sausage is sai krok.. What likely experienced as to texture is the fact that some versuins have glass noodles (woonsen) inside.
Interesting!
@@AttilaAndZae if these were from north-eastern Thailand (Esan region), their sausages have some rice stuffed in them too. Hence the weird textures u experienced...
4:01 oh we don’t eat lemongrass in tomyum soup 😭
and i really enjoy your videos
We did not know. We will have to try again next time, but we both think that the soup is incredibly delicious 🤤
Yeah like malaysia, thai food is spicy too.
Very spicy 😅
@@AttilaAndZae actually some korean food can be spicy too. I ate kimchi one day and teared up and my nose was runny.
You’re not supposed to eat the lemon grass; it’s there only for flavour.
We didn’t know at the time. When Zae had her soup, we asked the waitress and she said to eat everything, but she may not have understood what we were asking.
Salmon is not native to south east asia unlike japan. So they are imported frozen.
Rice dumpling is to remember a scholar who committed suicide in old china. His name is qu yuan. People threw dumpling into the river so that the fish do not eat his remains which was never found. It is bamboo leaves with glutinous rice with fillings.
In hokkien dialect it is called chang
In cantonese it is called chung
In mandarin it is called zongzi
It coincides with the dragon boat race.
u can explore Pattaya from Bangkok by bus only cost 115baht .. enjoy :)
Good to know! Thank you for the tip!
I have traveled to Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines, Hong Kong and Thailand. I have to say Thailand have the best food! Its so dam good. I'm not talking about the ones made for tourist but food that locals eat. Besides Thailand Hong Kong also have some really good food. Vietnam and Cambodia food sucks over there. Vietnamese food here in the U.S is way better then in Vietnam.
In all honesty, we found something that we liked in every country that we’ve travelled to so far. Depends on what you’re into I guess.
Duck dish must be prepared correctly as like mutton meat, the meat has a smell to it.
Zae please don’t eat the lemongrass in the tum yum soup. It’s just for the flavors. 😂 😂
We had no idea!! Now we know for next time 😂
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Super duper vlog ji
Thank you so much ☺️ 🙏🏼
@@AttilaAndZae well come ji
I suspect that rental is based on sales volume. Not fix rent. Which can make things cheaper.
Interesting
@@AttilaAndZae it is based on sales volume, there is no pressure to increase price to hit a volume to pay the rent. The rent is based on sales figure. Some outlets in malaysia have such agreements. If sales is zero during covid, you pay no rent.
sadly you dont enjoy the bajang (dumpling wrap with lotus leaves). well, not some food for the farang i guess
Maybe next time!
Btw you don’t eat lemongrass .. that’s for favors in the Tom yum soup
Good to know for the future!
First..
25:40 It's not jelly It's fruit call "pomegranate"
Thanks for clarifying 😊
🙄the first one you take sticky rice! ! usually is to take home and warm it before you eat them taste better lol 😝 Asia food taste better when you MIXED together or stir together 🙏
Thanks for the information, now we know 😅
The reason why Chinatown food is more expensive than terminal 21 Food Court is because the quality and taste of food in Chinatown is much better. We Thai people go there very often to eat delicious and good quality food. They are not selling expensive just because they want to charge to tourists.
Thank you for letting us know!
Lemon grass you don't actually eat them .it's more for flavor 🙄
I am about to say that
We got a few comments mentioning this, and when Zae was trying the Tom Yum soup, we asked the waitress if we’re supposed to eat the lemongrass, and she said yes. We’re thinking that she didn’t understand the question 😆
Just in case you don’t know. All food should come with steamed rice, except noodles and Pad Thai.
We did notice this all over Asia 😅
When they stop the mask wearing (or if) I would like to go for these food experiences.
You do not eat the lemongrass..no one does that.
I asked our waitress when I was having a hard time chewing it if I should be eating it and she said yes..
@@AttilaAndZae my answer no. Like pandan leaf, lemongrass is for the aroma and a bit of flovour. It is not vegetable.
🤣🤣🤣
Only Asians would know wether to eat lemongrass or not
Haha, we learned now too 😂
