      1. White Pawn on 5th rank (row)
      2. Black Pawn in a nearby file (column) that hasn't moved yet moves up 2 squares, landing beside white Pawn
      3. White Pawn has a one-time offer (meaning only in this successive turn) to CAPTURE that Black Pawn (even though its not in the normal position for a Pawn to capture)

But it's not face to face ,so they are not blocking each other. It's sideways. Both of you can walk forward. Or you can take the opportunity that your opponent just moved to the (right/left of) you and take the pawn , moving to the space above it(like if that pawn was in e5. You in d5 , then you will move to e6 and take that pawn)

      Was looking for this comment. When I played tournament chess, I'd let my opponents finish off their mating attacks, moving quickly, just so they'd have that on their score sheet. Wasn't a big deal to me one way or the other.

    I still remember a chess match I had a few years ago, when I was in highschool, during an amateur chess tournament. I was winning, I had all my next moves planned out, a path was wide open for a pawn to turn into a queen.
    Then my opponent en passanted me and my mental got annihilated. I felt so stupid that I forgot that that could happen. I've hated that move ever since and I think I'm irrationally paranoid about it now.

      Einstein would had beaten Magnus if both were alive at the same time and if they played chess since, if you saw the match against Oppenheimer, he won by sacrificing most of his pieces and won, and also he’s a chess genius around his time, and I think whatever move Magnus plays, Einstein already saw and found a counter to it.

    I’m happy that Magnus let this happen so Gotham could make a recap! Also for this to happen at GM level is crazy!!!     Edit: Just for it to be possible you need 2 bishop under promotion on same color. So 3 same color bishop
