What's the average yearly overhead cost?
Aprox 2% of the cost of the house, in this case it will be 700,000 dollars a year plus 1% in tax to Bahamas government 350.000 dollars a year. So, in total 1.3 milion a year
Obviously, they don't really want to sell this place!
My question is why sell it?
They get bored
Well, if I had well over $35M burning a hole in my pockets I'd be interested. _IF_ that price also included a complete conversion to solar tile roofs on all of the buildings along with a big enough battery bank to go the better part of a week with no sun. Simply not needing to rely on diesel generators for all of the electricity would definitely increase the privacy factor. Pretty safe bet the Bahamian government collects some nice taxes from these owners of the private islands too!
I got a beachfront empty land for sale and it is cheap and where it is located is 0%(percent)-(tax free)

the up keep and all those servants monthly wages and food storage must require a ton of money. the diesel generators needed and the water desalinization system must be super expensive to maintain. do pirates or thugs come ashore to mug them periodically? just sayin.
