Coming back here just to tell you how much I truly appreciate all of the kind words of encouragement and love. It’s truly meant the world to me and I am incredibly grateful for the impact this cover has had and continues to have on so many people. Thank you.
Always thought the way to expand on a song like this was to add octaves and make more chords, building up the melody itself and changing the timing for the left hand was genius, well played.
i really like the part in 2:29 where you stumbled a bit. Such moment of imperfection gave a cute charm to the sound. But in general really good and lovely perfomance.
Dude, you inspire me SOOOO much, I have been Playing Piano for 2 years by now and hearing this is keeping me Determan to continue playing Piano. Keep up the good work, you will inspire no madder what, and one can change that, keep it up (:
This sounds beautiful!! Also, I saw in another comment that you learned this by ear. That's incredible talent. Amazing work, dude! :) I'm also learning this song on piano!!
Stunning as always. I was hoping you would play the Undertale soundtrack. Hearing you play this beautiful song reminded me of my appreciation for your piano skills. Thank you for playing it, and I hope you have a good day!

Yes I agree with the other commenter. I learned the right hand separate from the left. Then I learned the left and practiced it until it felt comfortable. Only when I was confident with the parts in both hands did I put them together. Once you are able to discern which beats the right and left hand need to fall on, you will be able to sync them. However, hand independency is definitely one of the most difficult things about playing piano so it will take some time. Just don’t give up and keep practicing and you’ll get it :)
this is really cool to see and hear, well played. i don't know if it's that easy to ask, but could you play it's raining somewhere else from undertale as well? the piano collection version would be nice.
I took piano lessons for 13 years and I play pretty regularly. That's mostly all there is to it. Surprisingly, I used to find piano a chore but of course now I love it. It was only about 5 years ago that I really started to enjoy playing and being creative on the instrument. Now I couldn't imagine life without it. Thanks for asking!
Hi modal mouse. I love your comp! I believe it sounds very nice. Would you please tell me which piano you got and how much did it cost? And what type of a piano it is. Because I'm trying to save up for a piano but I don't know what's so quality. The cheapest acoustic costs over €3,000! And I don't think I can save up that much, especially as a child. Could you recommend something? Of course in the future I plan to go for €100K+..
Sure! I got a Story & Clark upright piano on Facebook Marketplace for a ridiculously low price of $100. Most won't be that lucky but you can definitely find a similar upright piano possibly in the same brand for a reasonable price. Hope this answers your questions!
@@igorgmd Yeah someone was just trying to get rid of it and it happened to be an incredibly good purchase. But yeah definitely a one of a kind opportunity that doesn’t happen often.
@@modalmouse2422 True. Well I wish you good luck with your future videos and future in general. Thank you for your reply and kindness, as well as these masterpieces!
My piano is, I think it sounds close to the original because it’s slightly detuned giving it that melancholic feel to the piece. For most of my covers, I hate how my piano sounds but this one has been the one exception where it just matched perfectly.
Try learning the right hand melody first and then adding left hand later. It can be difficult to coordinate both together depending on how advanced you are, so usually learn them separate. For this piece make sure you learn it in parts. I would focus on the beginning section first and getting the feel correct. Then add in left hand when the right hand is sounding good and confident. Also make sure one hand isn’t overshadowing when playing so both can be heard. Those are just some tips I can think of off the top of my head, I think it’s learnable and not too hard overall. The rest of the song is a different story, particularly the middle section with the complicated left hand patterns. That will take some practice but can be done with consistency. But yeah, just take your time, you got this!
I also learnt this song, and to add on- you don't have to learn it chronologically. Depending on which arrangement you use, the third section (once upon a time part) and the first section is the easiest. If the middle section frustrates you, learn that last. Don't burn yourself out. Also, be patient- I'm grade 2 piano and it took me around 4-5 months to learn this
I agree! I’m just not good at transcribing, I learned this all by ear. Maybe someone else with a talent for transcribing could figure it out although it may be difficult to tell which notes I’m hitting from the camera angle.
Reprise is basically the “full” version of Fallen Down with the middle and end sections as heard in this cover. The original Fallen Down contains only the beginning theme, however the reprise extends the composition while referring back to the original motif as well. This gives the Undertale soundtrack continuity, and is one of the many reasons why I love the game so much!
Ummm no it’s not? This is kind of a subjective thing based on how you interpret the song but I don’t hear anything in the original recording that sounds lower than how I’m playing it.
@@modalmouse2422 im guessing you mean you dont hear anything higher, also octaves is not subjective and left hand is an octave higher, if you would try to play it like that youd notice that the notes fit perfectly together so that they dont overlap
His left hand is fine, his right hand is one octave lower, but otherwise is great! If listening to the original song found here (if the guy hasn't disabled links in his comment sections: ruclips.net/video/cGBMTAGzWPs/видео.html) and you can hear that his right hand is one octave lower than what it should be.
