We got our 2 yr old daughter the budget Strider just to see if she'd like riding balance bikes. She LOVES it! Asks to ride her bicycle every day. So now we want to get her a premium balance bike for her 3rd birthday. Do you recommend the Pello or the Woom 1+? Or given that this video is a couple years old, is there something even better now?
Have you looked at the yvolution y velo bike? We were gifted one so just trying to see if I should return and use the funds for one of your options. I do love the detailed info on all ages and the different bikes!
Hi Hannah! For its price, its a pretty decent bike. Its primary drawback is that the seat post has specific height settings, so you can’t really dial in a perfect fit for your growing child. We also highly recommend air tires, which provide much more cushioning and traction. Depending on your budget, we also recommend a hand brake, but that puts you in the $199 range. Although a child won’t be able to use a handbrake until probably the last several months of their balance bike experience, it is incredibly helpful when they start to get more aggressive. It also makes the transition to a pedal bike easier because they already know how to use a hand brake.
You’re right, this video is old, and unfortunately, RUclips does not allow you to update videos without completely redoing them. However, our website is always current… And the Guardian Balance bike certainly makes our best balance bikes list! Here’s our review: www.twowheelingtots.com/guardian-balance-bike-review/
hey do you have some balance bike footage you can share with me? I need footage for a video project where I compare balance bikes with a method of learning tennis
I bought two balance bikes (without knowing to do research first) for my 17 month old twins. The bikes are too tall. How can I lower them? I read something about fork setters. Will I have to go to a bike shop? They were cheap bikes. No way could I afford two of these high-dollar bikes. They are Zycom I think. My daughter is REALLLLLLY tiny and short. I don't see her fitting on this balance bike properly for several years. :( Any tips?
I got Zycon for my 2 year old, she didn’t want to ride it initially. Around 28 months she picked it and now by 33 months she has mastered and rides freely. Give time
You can take the pedals off any bike you want make it a temporary balance bike. If you’re looking for a more permanent solution, check out the Strider 20, which is adult sized at its max.
The crank arms on the Strider 14x are very small, which means the child needs to make very small circles with their legs when they pedal. As a result, once kids learn to master pedaling on the Strider 14x, they quickly outgrow the pedal portion as they end up trying to pedal too fast and their feet slip off the pedals. As a result, the Strider 14x is a great balance bike as a great starter pedal bike, but kids will quickly outgrow it as a pedal bike.
Such a shame that you don't mention the best balance bike ever- Jumper from KOKUA. It's objectively so much better than any of those that you've listed, I really don't understand.
Just purchased the banana gt for my 2 year old, thanks to your advice. Can’t wait for him to try it!
Let us know how he likes it!

Hey Michael! The woom 1+ will have more room for growth if she will fit on it. How tall is she? It's the right size for kids approximately 37" - 43"

Thank you for the guide. What do you think about TheCroco balance bike?
We have never tested the Croco. It seems to be a fine bike but there is nothing that stands out about it.

@@Twowheelingtotsbikesthank you so much for all the info! She is 8 months currently but want to be ready for when she wants to go!
What would you suggest for a 6 year old. He just started to get interested. He is 52 inches. Lean. Athletic
I would get a lightweight pedal bike and take the pedals off. This article explains it www.twowheelingtots.com/how-to-teach-a-child-to-ride-a-bike/
Excellent and informative video... thank you :-)
We’re glad it could help you!
What about the Puke weighing low too, with brakes and true tryes?
Are you referring to Puky balance bikes? Those are not available in the US, so unfortunately, we have not tested them.
@@Twowheelingtotsbikes Yes, ok, just to know
So what would be a young toddler? Is that as opposed to old toddlers?
Younger toddlers were generally referring to one to two-year-olds. While older toddlers would be about 2.5 to 3.5.
You need to update this list to include Guardian Bikes. Their brake system is great

What do you think is good for going down steep hills i have the strider sport
If you're going down steep hills, you should definitely look for a balance bike with a handbrake!
What about the Cruzee? It is super light.
It's no longer sold in the US!

Can you return them for smaller cheap bikes? The Bixe is a decent very small balance bike. www.twowheelingtots.com/bixe-balance-bike-review/

what's your opinion of the Radio Flyer balance bike? thx!
It's a great budget option for older kids. It's one of the taller bikes out there. Here's our video review: ruclips.net/video/8rC1jQOVGjw/видео.html

Question - the Strider 14x - why do you say the pedal set allows your child to pedal for only a couple months?

We agree that it's an incredible bike! We tested it several years ago and our toddlers loved it. We just wish that it had a handbrake at that price.
