I mean you see for yourself why no one is playing Smite 2 Alpha, you can barely finish a game. People either rage quit or just f6 @10min.
plus they had a couple of flash tests prior to the alpha weekend and its basically the same stuff
yea i only played 3 games and each one i won my lane and enemies RQ so it got kinda boring
@@okamiwolfie3290 exactly my experience. Flash tests were nicer as only people who follow discord closely (people who actually care) gets into those
Silly matchmaking indeed. I played against you the other day, I was jungle Ymir, you were Goobi in the solo lane. And my entire team left. Like the WHOLE TEAM. Duo died once, threw* up an F6 and left lol. The games have been wild.

@@RaxCS IIRC came from early days of Smite where it was a mix of Anubis and one of his Golden skins (so calling him Golden Anubis), which became Goobis. Can't verify, just picked up on the Goobis term early on and it stuck; Goobi is a pretty simple extrapolation from that.
I just personally don't have interest in playing Smite 2 until its out of alpha/beta

This was 90% of my experience with this weekend.
I do think for the next Alpha weekend they need to focus on the baby rage leaver problems. There is 0 testing of an alpha game like this if every game lasts 7 minutes, or is a 35 minute 2v5.
People are interested, It is just you dont upload smite anymore so you dont get recommended on RUclips like you used to. So people watch FO Weaken etc.
Idk if you could or would make a video on it, but you should look at a game called Skald. It's old school baldirs gateish and I think you'd enjoy it

Well my personal reason for playing less the 2nd alpha was that I could care less about them adding 2 more characters when as far as I could tell zero mechanical improvements were made. Plus it's conquest. I mostly play CQ on Smite 1 but I don't want to play a 40 min CQ on an unbalanced map with the new JG camp mechanic that I do not at all, into the same 7 gods every single match. I'd rather get a feel for the new items in an Arena.
Huge L not having an arena port for the casuals to goof around on. I can only imagine anyone who isn't a content creator is thinking "I'll just go play the version of Smite that feels smooth and if there's anything interesting I'll see it on Twitch or YT later"
This. Having a mode where you can goof around and test things with other players would have made a huge difference. I know they're wanting to test conquest balancing with farm and stuff, but if this is an alpha that really shouldn't be a huge focus yet and it should be on smoothing more significant things out like ability registering, effects appearing, animations playing, connection stability, things like that. Balance will be a forever thing, it's a moba.
I decided not to play this Playtest. At this point, Pred is way more fun. None of my mains are in Smite 2 except Fenrir and he feels worse now that everyone has beads. I agree that combat blink would be better.

It’s been remarkable. During an alpha play test, I feel like I have encountered the highest rate of bots
(It must just be people trolling, new to the game/genre, or legitimate brain dead behavior)
Overall, they are right when they say it is a “true alpha”. Game needs a lot of TLC and some balancing. Very optimistic for the future, though

Im gonna pass on Smite 2, Hirez does not give a damn about their player base.
The entire company is a bunch of grifters and the idea of paying for the same game, essentially the same content, just for them to not fix things and shove useless expensive skins down our throats.
Its gonna be a HARD pass, but im always here for the Mast content.

I still watch all your smite 2 content, so I might be wrong here, but I think the reason why you don't get as many viewers is most likely the matchmaking. Or the lack of it. I think there are 2 types of people watching your vid. Those who are here to see Mast, and those who are here to watch some decently high level gameplay of their favorite game they play. Well, because there's no matchmaking, you're getting matched with noobs, and stomping noobs is not that interesting to watch. Also the novelty of Smite 2 has worn off. It's a lot less fun than smite 1, mostly because of matchmaking, so it makes sense that the interest fell off.
if you are not mentally prepared to handle some losses, you probably should't play any compatitive game ever.
And whats even more silly, we all payed to test a game in its alpha phase ... how in the world can you rage quit a match so fast. i mean even if you get stomped, you can sell your items for 100% of there cost and just try som bullshit ^^
Yeah I'm enjoying it except the matchmaking with mega man children, and just kids in general who fk about and rage quit when they die once cause they're mega betas, and the item store and way you build and the whole pots taking slots and items taking 5 slots at tier 2 or w.e. dunno what the hell they're thinking lol. I do like the active items, but not the way you have to build to get to things.
When are they releasing it? I saw something about they releasing it around July? But idk if it's a beta or something
Thats the beta I believe, the full game releases January 2025
They need to add at least 6 gods next play test. Idc how unbalanced it is or how long it takes to add, the game is going to be too stale if it keeps at this pace
Biggest problem with the play test for console players (me) is the graphics are so scuffed it’s borderline unplayable
So I have my Smite 2 ordered…but I find myself wondering what the difference is between Smite and Smite 2? I should have dived into that before buying it, but they got my money 😂
Unreal engine 3 to 5 gods get changed and the build system completely changed I think that’s literally it

Also, and this is not minor IMHO, the game's pace is noticeably slower.
@@minimal49 yeah thats exactly what I was thinking too. Is not like smite 1 that you can be level 5 at 3 minutes if you farm well the early and can get full build at 25min mark

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the fact that Ymir's wall knocking up is nerfing his freeze (assuming it does, haven't tested it), so perhaps the reason no one has brought it up is that maybe it doesn't?

Can't speak for anyone else, but for me Predecessor has been so fun, and watching you play it has been way more entertaining than watching you play even Smite 1 at this stage, just purely for the novelty of a new game maybe, but Pred is actually super fun, still watch whatever you upload, but just my opinion💙

The changes to Ymir will probably make him one of my favorite gods in the game. Everything just feels so much better, man, the wall changes and the 2 changes are so good I love them.
I can't wait to see what Ao Kuang looks like in Smite 2. If everyone's getting a robust kit and the combat feels very fluid, I can't wait to see what the absolute unit Ao Kuang will look like when he can build crit💀💀

I’ve really been enjoying playing smite 2 but people surrender so fast that it feels like I can’t ever make a come back or really get in some big team fights

I got one real game the whole weekend. Kinda surpised people ragequit so much in an alpha. I thought the point was just to try it out and have fun, not to go full sweaty.
Play test isn't as interesting because so much will change before release also still waiting on that Iggy&Scortch Pred vid
Being able to drag things on bar is very logical, I don’t think that will be easy to pick up or needs to be any “cleaner”

People I’ve watched on YT had a completely different UI than I did when I played this weekend. Did I miss a setting somewhere?
might be different on console, other than that the UI should be the same I think

Since you mentioned switching back to Smite or Predecessor or something else, I'm legitimately interested in asking how far you'd be willing to stray from your usual content? I don't know what types of games you enjoy besides MOBA's, and of course, viewer retention is a relevant issue with trying new games. Personally I'd be interested in seeing new content on other IP's you may enjoy.
