First time viewer. You did an excellent job with all your recipes. The first casserole would make a great brunch recipe or bring to a pot luck invitation. Well done 👍
A good thing about the black soybeans is that they are low carb. Whereas alot of other beans are not! Found this out while on the Fast 800 Diet :) (very low carb)
Awesome to find a video like this. I have celiac and thought this info might be helpful to you. Things that contain gluten are more than what and consists of barley, wheat, rye, and Triticale
I get that you have to put the cost of the buillion somewhere as well as the Montreal spice but for a true cost, I think, $1.25/5 and $1.25/2 is more realistic to actual cost. So $0.25 + $0.63= $0.88 or $5 + $0.88= $$5.88 for the soup.
they all looked incredible, I dont like the way the potatoes come out when you follow the directions, I like to rehydrate them a bit before making the dish
I thought about soaking them in hot water for a bit, I do want to do that for a dinner I plan to make at some point. Basically a scalloped potato roll with beef filling
You have to watch the rice as they may contain arsenic. basmati or jasmine has less arsenic. So white rice from California, India, and Pakistan may have less. You should always wash it first
This is from the national institute of health: Rinsing rice before cooking has a minimal effect on the arsenic (As) content of the cooked grain, but washes enriched iron, folate, thiamin and niacin from polished and parboiled rice.
I’m confused, you claim to rinse it because arsenic, I share factual scientific information that says rinsing has little to no effect on arsenic, so how is the conclusion rinse it regardless? Many cultures who eat rice everyday don’t rinse their rice I’m going to be honest, the way I cook rice works and I am comfortable with it and I am comfortable with the quality of the rice that I buy so I have absolutely no intention of ever rinsing it. However if you are concerned about arsenic then I should let you know that the only way to remove it is to cook the rice like you cook pasta and drain the water
@@DollarTreeDinners when you rinse the rice you reduce the starch. It also catches impurities like dust, dirt, bugs, and small rocks that may have been missed
I fry the uncooked rice in oil to seal the starch, an alternative method that has worked consistently better for me than rinsing it has There’s more than one right way to do something and that is okay :)
