- The 10th-seeded NC State Wolfpack completed an amazing run as they became the first team in ACC history to win 5 games on their way to the tournament title as they beat the top-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels, 84-76 and were named champs at the 2024 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament. DJ Horne scored a team-high 29 points on 9-15 shooting and DJ Burns, Jr. was magnificent, finishing with 20 points on 9-12 shooting with 7 assists for Kevin Keatts' club. Mohamed Diarra did the dirty work, scoring 11 points, grabbing 14 rebounds, blocking 3 shots and coming up with 3 steals in the win. RJ Davis scored a game-high 30 points and Armando Bacot finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds for Hubert Davis' team in a losing effort.

@@themansinceyeah we were really clicking as a team before this game, the guys just have to go back to focusing on the little things and playing more intelligently. You can tell they didn’t come out aggressive and State just wanted it more. defense has got to get better
For sure. NC State had way more to lose and they knew it. There’s a reason why the past three national championship tournament teams at UNC have *not* won the conference title: they just haven’t had a ton to play for in the conference tournament.

ACC Champions!! The most incredible and improbable run of my lifetime (born in 1990). To win 5 games in 5 days, beat both blue bloods up the road in the process, and culminating with a win over UNC to punch our ticket to the dance - the ONLY way we could have gotten in - is just so sweet. I've been calling for Keatts to be fired - and I still have concerns about the long-term outlook of his coaching tenure - but for now, I tip my hat to him. GO PACK! Never been prouder.

Such comrodery by this team by epic proportions been 37 years since acc champs now go end the 41 year drought and become champs of the world!
Most impressed with how the NC State team was completely out of gas the last minutes of the game. The whole team was gasping for air, but stuck it out to the bitter end. (Not sure they could have survived a 21 minute half)

State has been up and down all season and really finished the regular season playing poorly. So I am in disbelief at the last 5 games. Where was this team all season? Horne and Burns have been inconsistent all season but somehow put together their best games this tourney. This might be the biggest surprise ACC Tourney win in history. Go Pack!
They might make some noise in NCAA TOURNAMENT but if they play KENTUCKY it most likely be short lived!

What if UNC players would ALL play their games the way that they are capable of playing them at the same time instead of Bacot one day, RJ one day, Ingram one day, Ryan one day. What if they would all play damn basketball every game with a fu_ _ _ing purpose. It's crazy to me how they made it to a #1 seed in the ncaa tournement this year not really playing as a complete unit. If they would all click at the same time NO ONE COULD STOP THEM......NOBODY!! They are the best team in the country but have no idea how to come out motivated enough to all play like it. They play GOOD....that's it......even though they have an Awesome squad. Wolfpack fan here. Our guys have just been on a complete tear lately. Hubert is a really good coach, though. I don't ever pull for your team, but I do respect Hubert Davis very highly. Classy coach and a classy person in general.
