OH MY GOD!! what a highly intellectual discourse. So far I have just listened till the 40th minute mark but the quality is apparent. The Sheikh is well versed in deen, history and modern political theory. There have been many parts that I have listened to twice to fully savour the insights. Brilliant work Aman and Team Eon, please keep bringing more people like this and having real Islamic discourse. Shout out to Aman for his diverse grip on all these topics which helps bring out the best conversations 👏

I hadn't watched him before but sheikh usta was more well thought out both interms of arguments for why there needs to be social organisation on the basis of islam and how that would take place (although the interdependence of the triad on paper does sound similar to what democracy already promises the independence of the legislation from the state apparatus makes all the difference) i found him to have thought it through way more than our own speakers who super impose shariah modern state apparatuses not meant for it like qaiser Ahmed and even madudi and i do actually think him being a shaikh who's interacted with fiqh and would've read it's development and read about it in the context of the time when the super structure it was under supported it would've helped his understanding out of the modern political paradigm

Sheikh Usta's endeavors are commendable, yet the conceptual framework of his institute seems somewhat myopic regarding long-term vision. The discourse failed to address pivotal strategies for diaspora members upon their return to their countries from the Western world. Specifically, the absence of a clear methodology for instigating change domestically raises questions about the practical applicability of the insights offered. While enlightening, the conversation lacked the pragmatic underpinning anticipated by the host. I hope that subsequent to this dialogue, Sheikh will incorporate this critical dimension into his strategic considerations.

The time maybe didn't allow for much depth in that discussion. But I believe sheikh was more general in his answer it would be specific to each country based on the unique nature of its social and political structures. What I took away regarding the unique case of Pakistan, is that you start by descularizing and delibralizing the society, you focus on replacing nationalism with a strong Islamic identity based on true tawheed (Allah's sovereignty) and intellectual emotional and political unity of the ummah under one ruler (khalifah). In muslim countries, the discussion can only go as far as the politicians and elite are willing to go. If the rulers don't comply after the public opinion has changed. Then, I believe an external militant intervention would occur (those are my words, not sheikh's). The important thing is that we need to think about the solution from an ummah, not a nations perspective, otherwise the idea of a united Islamic nation under a khilafah rashida is out of the picture, and we're only looking for short-term nationalistic change.

I have to comment now. Reaching at 1:25:50, clearly Ustad seems to have a distance from practicality on several points. First the approach on dawah only limited to elite (its clearly just one aspect of seerah). He just limited the entirety of Aap PBUH crusade on one way of his solutions. The migration, the establishment of State in Madina, the battles thereafter, his own Ahadith on the matter. Then the life of Sahaba RA.
Second, his disagreement to the fact that if something is written in the constitution and not followed that means the constitution is not Islamic. This idea is also practically empty.
All power to our Ustad nonetheless as what he is doing is also one of the effective ways of spreading the message and reverting youth back to deen. May Allah preserve him and not make him create neutered Ummah as we already have a baggage of those due to aftermath of disconnect of previous 2 generations from deen.

    • @captainprice6199

Need to desecularize the Muslim minds first, establish a discourse around these topics in our social circles to remove the Taboo around talking about Khilafah and Islamic political system, as intended by Allah. That is a challenge in itself. The rest will follow, but these first steps are crucial. Spread this message dear brother. When the whole Ummah is talking about unity, it will naturally become more feasible. May Allah give success and grant sabr and steadfastness on his path.

Go and ask an Afghan and they claim half of Pakistan as part of Afghanistan.... There is no other problem with the Taliban, or any other former, current or future government in Afghanistan. You are also very disrespectful of Javed Ahmad Ghamidy and other urdu speaking scholars. Even if you don't agree with those scholars (which is your right to have a difference of opinion), your dismissive posture and attitude is close to arrogance. How many subscribers you have, 8.14K. Go and check how many people follow Javed Ahmad Ghamidy. How many books he has written and his scholarship? You also sounded that there is something wrong with the Urdu speaking scholars? Where does that come from? Just because you can speak some english and they don't???

I think Sh. Osta made it pretty clear that the political system changes he's asking ARE for our Muslim lands and not for non-Muslim countries. To make these political change aspirations within the modern post-colonial dictatorship/corrupt political sphere of Muslim countries is to invite the sword to the neck. Try talking about khilafa in some of our Muslim lands will land you in jail indefinitely or worse.
One strategy is once you can freely change the discourse of Muslims in non-Muslim lands, we can export those ideas and discourse back home to Muslim lands.
The rhetorical question that should be asked is what are YOU (and the rest of us) doing for the discourse.
